The Quantocks and Exmoor National Park are within easy driving and for a trip back in time, travel from Taunton along the West Somerset Steam Railway to Minehead. Going south, visit West Dorset and Devon, maybe spending a day or two exploring the World Heritage Jurassic coastal resorts of Sidmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis. The county town of Taunton is also well worth a visit, with its many shops, restaurants and places of interest. Beach 15 miles. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
