The community in Ulverston host many events throughout the year, including traditional markets, music and walking festivals. The popular village of Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee pudding, attracts visitors with its priory, racecourse and Michelin starred restaurant. 2 miles from Cartmel is the Edwardian village of Grange-over-Sands where you can walk along the promenade or visit one of the nature reserves. Mountain bikers will enjoy a visit to Grizedale Forest, 10 miles, which has plenty of tracks and trails as well as Segways and the Go Ape treetop adventure. Attractions for all the family within 10 miles include the South Lakes Zoo, Lakeland Motor Museum, Lakes Aquarium and Windermere steamers, Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway. For the drive of your life take a run over Hardknott pass and Wrynose pass down to Ravenglass and Muncaster Castle. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.
