Garden (shared). 1 small dog welcome. Private parking for 1 car with electricity point. No smoking. Please note: No children, except babes in arms. There is an unfenced riverbank in the owners’ garden. . Your secluded private garden makes a perfect sun trap, and you are welcome to share our inspirational riverside plot which combines a 20-year conservation project with producing food, firewood and electricity. An acre of island on the River Avon showcases sustainable, wildlife friendly living in practice, with a hydroelectric generator on the old mill site, and with sitting out points chosen to show off the river and its abundant birds, flowers, fish and (if you are lucky) kingfishers and otters.

The village has two pubs, one Gastro, one Indian, and an exceptionally well-appointed community run shop. Warwick is 5 minutes away and Stratford on Avon 15 mins.

The Writing Room is a delightful bolthole for seeing Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and area and easy to visit Birmingham. We needed to get to the NEC for Crufts and our dog was also welcomed by the friendly, laid-back owners. There is an excellent Indian restaurant within walking distance as well as two pubs. We made use of the free delivery offered and enjoyed a tasty curry, much needed after our long day. The cottage is small but well laid out and everything we needed was there. You can also access the island in the River Avon, which is lovely. We enjoyed a long weekend based there and will be back. Thank you.

Having a short break in winter is always hit and miss, we were lucky that the owners had back up hea

Having a short break in winter is always hit and miss, we were lucky that the owners had back up heater on for us, blankets to snuggle under, hot water bottle. Only thing would say could do with back up heater in bathroom, the towel rail that supplied the heating was only on for certain times of the day, not when we wanted a shower. Lovely to have access to the garden and island.
