Casa Roxa is an old Galician farmhouse located in a beautiful valley a short distance from the coast. It is a quiet and unique place to enjoy nature and discover the authentic Galicia, a region that has much to offer: a temperate climate, spectacular scenery, beautiful beaches, the best nautical, hiking and a cuisine just recognized. On the upper floor of the Casa Roxa there is a double bedroom and two single bedrooms, a living room with double sofa bed, a bathroom and a kitchen / dining room on approx 80m2. It is offered for rent only this upper floor, which has independent exit by external staircase, since the ground floor is not rehabilitated. The house overlooks the valley and is very sunny, its finishes and decoration are very simple and it is very nice for a holiday combining the tranquility of the countryside, hiking trails and beaches. Sharing the property next to the Casa Roxa is La Palleira, an old converted barn that is also rented. Outside there is a garden, still in the process of planting but very pleasant. There are tables and benches for outdoor dining. Both houses are also offered for permanent rent. The really unique thing about these houses is their surroundings; they are located within a relatively large farm (6Has) in the valley of a river that flows near Miño. There is an old water mill, a fluvial island planted with hydrangeas, forests, roads and meadows. It is relatively common to find forest animals and the vegetation is typically Atlantic, ferns and mosses on the shady banks of the river, wild flowers on meadows, mushrooms in season and diversity of trees in the forests. The place is fantastic to walk and organize picnics, breakfasts and meals outdoors and in the garden there is enough space for both houses.

Casa Roxa is located in the Galician Rías Altas, at the height of the Ría de Ares and Betanzos, near charming towns such as Pontedeume, the nearest coastal port, or the medieval city of Betanzos; in both there are markets, restaurants and local commerce.
The A9 motorway that crosses Galicia from North to South, allows us to easily make excursions to its cities-monument: Pontevedra or Santiago de Compostela have precious historical centers, but they also concentrate on them a fabulous gastronomic offer. Also La Coruña (30kms approx.) Makes a nice excursion to visit the Aquarium, the port or the old city. The coast offers spectacular landscapes and the best nautical. There are protected beaches in the Ria as the closest to Cabanas or Miño and, north of Ferrol, beaches open to the ocean such as San Jorge or Valdoviño, large, beautiful and little visited. The coastal towns of Redes, Ares or Cedeira, again offer scenery, gastronomy and unique wines.
There are also great excursions that we do to visit some pazos and historic gardens, the classic spa of Lugo, and the routes through nature, such as the one that runs through forests along the Fragas do Eume Natural Park.
Altogether it is a wonderful region to enjoy a memorable vacation, with a temperate climate, warm in summer and variable the rest of the year, which never disappoints.
