Our family of five (child, parents, grandparents) enjoyed this spacious cottage, which is conveniently located within walking distance to a hiking trail, large grocery store, excellent restaurant (Veldon's). The host answered all of our questions in a timely manner and home-baked scones and jam welcomed us upon our easy self-check-in. This area of Ireland is BEAUTIFUL!

Well equipped cottage in a lovely location
The cottage is located in a scenic area surrounded by the connemara national park on three sides and with a view out towards animals grazing in a field on the other. We really felt a part of nature with deer, sheep, ponies and the occasional hare putting in an appearance.
The cottage is within easy walking distance of Letterfrack village where there is a pub and a couple or restaurants as well as a supermarket. However, there is a footpath for only part of the journey and walkers need a torch/hi viz jacket if walking after dark.
The cottage is cosy and has everything needed for a holiday stay. Connemara is very beautiful and the people are very welcoming. We very much enjoyed our stay and were grateful to Anna for all her help.
Many thanks Mary for taking the time to write a review. I am very happy to hear that you were comfortable at Laurel Lodge and enjoyed your stay in Letterfrack. Hope to see you and your family again sometime.

A lovely property, great location
A lovely place to stay, right next to Connemara National Park and we had wild hares each morning and evening grazing on the lawn! An interesting village in which to stay with mountains and lakes on the doorstep, beautiful scenery.
Letterfrack was founded by Quakers in the mid-19th century. The village is 15 km north-east of Clifden (15 minutes drive) on Barnaderg Bay and lies at the head of Ballinakill harbour It is located at the foot of Diamond Hill and boasts stunning scenery.
The village has a supermarket, three pubs which feature nightly traditional Music sessions, three restaurants and also a Furniture College. There are several walking trails and numerous isolated beaches within a ten minute drive.
The two most popular attractions in Connemara are Kylemore Abbey and its Walled Victorian Gardens and Connemara National Park. Kylemore Abbey is a five minutes drive away and Connemara National Park is literally on your doorstep making Letterfrack an ideal base for touring and enjoying all that Connemara has to offer.
