The villa is on the Golfing Community of Rotonda. There are 5 golf courses less than 2 minutes away from the villa. Just 2 minutes walk from the villa is a children's play area containing BBQ areas, bicycle paths and walkways.
There are numerous large supermarkets, like Winn Dixie and Walmart only 5 minutes drive away. There are plenty of good restaurants to choose from only a very short drive away including Dennys (the breakfast here is excellent!). There are too many to mention and they are all very good. All the restaurants cater for families with children and the children are well looked after. Our children used to rate the restaurants on how good the colouring books and activities are rather than the food!
Old Englewood is a 15 minute drive away and is a quaint small town with many shops and restaurants including a very good wine bar which serves excellent tapas - you can sit outside and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a good glass of wine! There is also live entertainment here on certain evenings.
The beaches along the Gulf Coast are sandy and long - they are safe for children and there is plenty to do on the beaches. Looking for sharks teeth is a local pastime on Englewood beach. There is also picnic areas on Englewood beach along with a walk way. On the other side of the road to the beach you can find plenty of restaurants to eat and watch the sun go down. Venice beach is long and has a pier to walk along and watch the fishermen at the end. You can hire a fishing rod and try to catch your own fish! Sharkeys on the pier is an excellent place to eat and the portions are large and filling. The children have their own menus and ice creams along with their own cocktails! We watched the sun go down whilst drinking a cool beer - heaven!
You can hire a boat for the day and go out into the Gulf. On the day we went on a boat we saw lots of dolphins swimming along side us. You can stop at any beach that takes your fancy along the way!
If you want to visit the theme parks, Walt Disney World and Universal (to name only two!) are a 2 and a half hour drive away. You can book a hotel close to the parks and after a few days of visiting the theme parks travel back to tranquility and peace in your own comfortable home from home. A holiday in our villa suits old and young alike, everyone gets the best holiday, whether you take time out to visit the theme parks in Orlando or simply sit by the pool or beach at our villa.
