On the ground floor there is a large shared garden with other apartments, while on the upper floor there are two private parking spaces.

Amazing views and very well equipped apartment

The property is well laid out with stunning views from nearly all the rooms. The main living area has a great panoramic view of the lake

Breathtaking View

We very much enjoyed our stay here, the accomodations were very comfortable and clean. The view was absolutely stunning. The only concern I had that I really felt I didn't understand completely is the climb TO the property when arriving is nearly impossible on foot with luggage. There are extremely steep cobblestone steps you can take up the mountain or you can zig zag up the narrow highway dragging your bag behind you. With the recent landslide no taxis were available. Varenna Properties did not prepare us for this nor did they offer any help or suggestions other than a list of taxi services of which no one answered our calls for help. A very kind manager at the Grand Hotel down the road finally called a friend of his to help get all 8 of us up the mountain. I realize these were unique circumstances but an email letting us know ahead of time would have really helped us to prepare. I would stay there again regardless, as it was beautiful.

Views you will treasure forever!!

There was nothing better than stepping out on to the balcony for the first time to take in the incredible view of Lake Como!! In one word the views are magical!! The property itself is large, unique, and well set up for a larger party. There really wasn't anything that we could have needed! The wine glasses from the cupboard needed to be washed before use but not sure if that was the dishwasher or previous guests. The house IS set up in the hills so be prepared to either climb stairs or call a cab into town. The stairs are fine if you are in shape (which we are) but I could see that as being a challenge for some. Just an FYI!! Other than that BOOK IT!!! :)

Fantastic View

The home was very functional and has fantastic views from every room. We were there during the hottest week of the summer and the air conditioning went out, but the management company was responsive and had a repair person out as quickly as possible. No complaints, other than the furniture has seen a lot of use and needs to be replaced.

The View, The Location, The View, The Location

The view, like many in all the villages at the fork of Lake Como, are fantastic. From our small amount of traveling to others, the view in Varenna was exceptionally beautiful. We spent every morning and evening on the deck of this home looking at the view. Location - This particular home is basically half way between the city center of Varenna and the city center of Perledo. Walking to either, can be done, but one must be in fairly good athletic shape i.e. used to walking daily and not afraid of hills. One huge plus is that this home has room to park a car - even a large car - and for sure two cars, maybe even three small cars. If you go into Varenna, there are a couple of public parking lots for a fee, one on each side of town, and fairly reasonable price… up to 15-20 euros for the day. This made it convenient to get to either town to enjoy the area, which of course was fantastic. About the home itself… The furniture in the living areas was okay. The deck furniture was broken down. The bedrooms were comfortable. The home itself was spacious, and you could sleep a lot of people, but you might run out of living furniture. The bathrooms are European bathrooms, small stand up showers like most. The upkeep and the quality of the furnishings was less than average. The photos give the impression that it is all high end. While I can see that it once used to look like those photos, my impression is that years of renting has resulted in a lot of wear and tear and with it being for sale, they likely do not want to invest much more into it. You have to know what you want from the stay… If you do not need higher end furnishings and are going to spend all your time out and about Italy, it is more than acceptable and the view and the location more than make up for it. This is especially true if you have a large group. With the right number of people, this can be very affordable and close enough to Varenna as a main jumping off point with the ferry to all the other villages. If you prefer a little more upscale and are going to spend time in the home you may be better served to find a different home or perhaps a hotel in the city center.
