The cottage was converted from farm outbuildings some time ago. It has been completely upgraded and provides warm, cosy, comfortable stylish accommodation.

West Pusehill is a retired working farm but there are some tame animals including sheep, goats, chickens, ducks that the children love to help with at feeding time. We have a children’s play area, secure outside heated pool, large BBQ facility and laundry room. Take a break from cooking and enjoy the family friendly inn, The Pig on the Hill, where you can unwind at the end of the day with a good meal and award winning local Ale.

The cottage is situated in the picturesque North Devon countryside close to the blue flag beach at Westward Ho! with miles of golden sand.

North Devon is a wonderful place to take a family holiday or a romantic short break with lots to see and do. There is something for everyone set in stunning scenery.

A beautiful cottage in an great location

Had a lovely 10 day break in August with 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 14.

Great to have the swimming pool facility that was kept clean and tidy every day and never too busy. Ideal for the kids which they used most days.

The cottage is presented very nicely and very clean with a comfortable home feel.

It's situated a 5 min drive from Westwood Ho! which means it's bang in the middle between Bude and Woolacombe or Croyde which is ideal for surfing.

All supermarkets very close by so easy to get supplies as and when and also with the Pig On The Hill restaurant / bar right next door then couldn't be any better as the food was great there.

Could not recommend this place enough to anybody thinking of staying here.

Great location

The location is great. Lovely swimming pool with nice seating area.

The cottage lacked comfort. The beds where very uncomfortable to the point that we left a day early to get a good nights sleep.

The sofas need updating.

NO WiFi at all...... not good especially with a teenager around. I could go on about other things but won’t.

Sadly we will not be returning.

Enjoyed our stay at the cottage. A little bit tight for space in the bedrooms but overall ok. Lovely bathroom and well fitted kitchen. As a previous reviewer mentioned maybe a few to many nic nacs around, could do with a bit of a declutter.

Very good location and right next door to the excellent Pig on the hill pub/restaurant.

Great first family holiday

We spend a lovely 5 nights at pusehill farm in early July. The pool was very welcome in the hot weather and the cottage had beach equipment we could borrow which was excellent! Owners were very helpful setting up for a week with a baby and all equipment provided!

The Pig on the Hill was very handy right beside the farm.

Lovely spot in North Devon

We had a lovely stay in Elm Cottage. All arrangements & directions were spot on. Beautiful location easy to get to from the A39 and easy access to Westward Ho! on foot if you didn't want to drive.

V well appointed and comfortable cottage, if anything there were rather too many "nick-nacks" and did mean every surface had something on it! Kitchen was well equipped (3 toast racks?) however we did have to get a coffee pot , have left it there for the next visitors! The bathroom is large and the shower is great. We really loved the pool , luckily the weather was brilliant and we could enjoy relaxing in the sunshine after a late afternoon dip.

There are beautiful seaside & cliff path walks within easy reach as well as access to other nearby places of interest. You'll need to bring all your own supplies but there are supermarkets (Asda & Aldi ) very near in Atlantic Village shopping centre. Westward Ho! has a Coop and little Tesco express store.

Would recommend without hesitation .

Elm Cottage is ideally suited for a relaxing family holiday. It is on West Pusehill Farm in the small hamlet of Pusehill where the facilities are shared with 9 other cottages. The cottage is over 150 years old and is set around a beautiful garden. The Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho! is within walking distance (3/4 of a mile). The cottage is an ideal location for a beach or country holiday. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break by the sea or a more adventurous holiday, our cottage is ideally located to explore North Devon.

Our cottage is situated just a couple of miles from the historic port and market town of Bideford with its variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, and from where regular sailing trips to Lundy Island can be taken. It is also close to Hartland where the dramatic English Heritage Coastline has been designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but there are also many other wonderful scenic walks both inland and coastal to enjoy.

The fishing villages of Clovelly and Appledore are close by and well worth a visit, as are a host of other quaint little villages, each with its own unique character, charm and welcoming inns.

The Tarka Trail offers walking and cycling along the estuary, with cycle hire available. The lovely sandy beach at Westward Ho is within walking distance for swimming and surfing.

Other places of interest are Dartington Crystal, Tapely Park and gardens and Rosemoor R.H.S gardens, all within a few miles and, of course, the wild beauty of Exmoor is easily reached.

The Milky Way and The Big Sheep will fascinate the younger ones.

There are fantastic beaches within easy reach. The beach at Westward Ho is a pleasant walk from the cottage and offers surfing and kite surfing. The famous beach at Woolacombe is about 11 miles away and the beach at Croyde bay famous for surfing is close by as well.

Devon's landscape is so special, that over half of it has been protected. There are two national parks, two World Heritage Sites, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an international geo-park, plus two varied and stunning coastlines, stretching over 500 km, with 3,500 miles of footpaths and bridleways to connect it all!

North Devon is an idyllic playground in which to base your country cottage break and a favourite English holiday destination. Take time out to relax and unwind in its unspoilt beauty and vibrant history. From rolling hills to pretty patchwork fields, high countryside lanes, to picture postcard villages, Devon charms its visitors with a sense of the timeless.

Our cottage is quite close to the Cornwall and the legendary Tintagel castle and Boscastle are within easy reach as are many of the Cornish beaches.

A little further afield is the famous Eden Project which would be an ideal day trip.
