Saint Alfonso's is opposite the Romanesque church of Feuillade. This building of 1870 can be considered as a "Maison de Maître", regional architecture. It was once the home of the former mayor.
The renovation of this one in its first state consisted mainly in removing the additions of the past modes (wallpaper over the exposed stones, painting on the radiators). Our motivation was to rehabilitate what was originally well designed and constructed, removing superfluous decorations and at the same time modernizing the viability (central heating, plumbing, electricity) to the standards.
This philosophy extends to our diet which merges harmoniously with the education I received from my mother and grandmother (no waste, all pieces of meat are used). Food waste is fed to Jean-Marie's hens.
"Pancakes" are prepared with local food products (mainly organic and / or biodynamic) to support a local economy and for subsequent generations. They are fermented with milk kefir to promote easier digestion. Our espresso is by default in the Italian ways and customs (no added flavors or cappuccinos with whipped cream) and our milk is raw (no UHT).
Saint Alfonso's is close (500m) to the Flow Bike and nearly 500 km of shared lanes and greenways including Eurovélo 3 "the Scandibérique" and several bike loops (circuits family, discovery or exploration). The Flow Bike is a 290 km route west (Ile d'Aix) in the east (Thiviers) and vice versa. The access of our guest rooms from Flow Bike is very simple and fast. We are a convenient and comfortable step to spend the night and relax (table d'hôte, 48h reservation in advance). We have a safe bicycle shed and the possibility of cleaning your bike
