Placed in an EXCELLENT location in Sitio de Calahonda, this luxury Penthouse apartment 'boasts' one of the very best placed positions on this complex! It has been beautifully furnished to a very high standard and is equipped with everything you require to experience real 'home from home' comfort to include IPTV with all the main UK channels and wifi access.

An added luxury to the interior has to be the 'very large' wrap around, fully furnished, south facing terrace with FULL SUN on the terrace all day! The terrace, one of the largest and well placed on the complex affords a full, south facing aspect, offering a 'SUPERB SEA VIEW' which will be enjoyed at all times of the day from sunrise to sunset and will provide many photographic opportunities across the Mediterranean and to the coast of Africa!

Fully air/heat conditioned throughout, flat screen TV in lounge, DVD player, children's games/beach toys and wifi internet access*. The apartment is set within a secure gated complex complete with 4 lovely pools (+3 children's pools) in lovely landscaped gardens, equipped with sunbeds, toilets and showering facilities.

The apartment has its own allocated private underground parking with direct lift to the apartment and the nearest bar/restaurants and ATM are just a 5 min walk from the complex - 3 gorgeous beaches with restaurants, bars and water sports (one of which has its own very 'picturesque' Marina) are only a 5 min drive!

Due to the location of the apartment, all of this coast's MAJOR RESORTS and FAMILY ATTRACTIONS can be reached in under 15 minutes to include Marbella, Puerto Banus, Fuengirola ,Benalmedena, Mijas. Aqualand, Tivoli World, Cable cars, Marine Land, Fuengirola Zoo etc.

GOLF enthusiasts will find themselves in 'GOLF HEAVEN' with the largest golfing complex in Spain just 15 minutes away at La Cala Resort, around 10 further golf courses within 15 minutes and approximately 40 courses within 30 mins....the NEAREST GOLF COURSE ONLY 2 minutes away!

The very large 'wrap around' terrace, one of the very few well placed for unrivalled views on this complex, continues to delight our guests and with its' south facing aspect it enjoys sun all day from sunrise to sunset and it affords a beautiful panoramic sea view across to the coast of Africa!!

It is equipped with sun beds and drinks table, a large dining table with 6 chairs and a large parasol, coffee table with 2 chairs and a built in BBQ for wonderful 'al fresco' dining!

To finish off your day, there is a lovely comfy terrace suite where you can sit and relax with a long cold drink in the early evening (and later!) as you watch the sun set over the Mediterranean, the coast of Africa and the Atlas mountains!

Calahonda Information: Calahonda is a busy resort with a rustic flavour and is very much centred on the holidaymaker, with four golf courses, tennis courts, and a shimmering coastline offering an array of water sports, shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants that have a truly global take on cuisine and cannot fail to suit all tastes!

Calahonda has its own marina called Cabopino (5 minutes away,) which has the reputation for being the most secluded and picturesque marina on the Costa del Sol. It has a superb sandy beach with bars and restaurants that have barbecue areas where freshly caught fish are cooked as a speciality. The marina is host to many lovely and well known reputable restaurants,

Eating Out around Calahonda: Within a few minutes walk of the apartment you will find an ATM and some bar/restaurants all of which we can highly recommend. Walking a little further on (3 minute drive) will bring you to the ‘Strip’ well known in Calahonda for its wide choice of restaurants, which cater for literally all tastes, including Swiss! Around the corner from the Strip is the El Zoco Centre where you will find a further choice of wonderful restaurants set in a lovely pedestrianised area. In addition you will find gift shops, banks, newsagents, pharmacy etc and one of 3 large supermarkets, which will cater for all your needs. Opposite the El Zoco, just across the coastal road, there is the Dona Lola Complex where yet again you will find a further choice of good bars and restaurants to choose from.

'Consistently Excellent!'

We reviewed this apartment on this site back in 2011 following our first visit - as we prepare for our "5th visit" and getting excited! felt it was worthy to review our last visit (all be it a little late in the day!). It's difficult to add more to what we have already posted other than to say that the high standard of cleanliness, comfort and available facilities of the apartment, plus the level of pre and post service from Sharon has not dropped in anyway and as our review title says, our experience at this apartment over the years has been "Consistently Excellent!" - so looking forward to our next stay Sharon xx

High Five!

We're just back from spending a relaxing and peaceful two weeks in this comfortable and very well appointed luxury apartment (22 April - 6 May 2018).

Given what we had read concerning this apartment and its idyllic hilltop location, our expectations were high. From the moment we arrived, those expectations were exceeded. Stepping out onto the terrace the first time really was a 'Wow!' moment. The apartment was presented spotlessly clean. All of the furnishings are of a high quality and the decor is tasteful throughout. Everything you could reasonably demand is provided, to make your stay a pleasure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at 'LA Vista', and it is fully deserving of the five star rating at the top of this review. Very highly recommended!

Fabulous Penthouse apartment, magnificent views

We spent the most amazing 2 weeks at this fabulous penthouse apartment. Sharon was the best person we have ever dealt with. She was helpful and so efficient from start to finish. The apartment was so spacious, well equipped and comfortable. We didn't close the curtains and slept looking at starry clear nights. The views were spectacular and could see Gibraltar some days. We visited Cabopino beach, which was lovely and lively. We went to Rhonda- hour and a half but breathtaking. Mijas Pueblo was a gorgeous Spanish village about 20 mins away. Marbella and Benalmadena marina also worth a visit. Our final trip was Nerja, long drive but beautiful place and stunning caves. We ate at steak house on the edge of El Zoco..very nice! We liked Supersol supermarket on the El Zoco centre the best, quite reasonable.

Overall we loved our holiday , best one yet!!! Thanks to Sharon and Darren for sharing your beautiful place..

Fantastic Penthouse !

We (family of four) spent two weeks at this penthouse in July 2014 and had a great holiday. Sharon and Darren, thank you for letting us use your penthouse. As other guests have commented the terrace is great, very large with sun all day. Inside the accommodation is spacious and furnished to a very high quality. There is pretty much everything you could want or need for your stay. Having rented many apartments and villas over the last few years, this is without doubt the best that we have stayed in! There are four pools on the complex and they are surprisingly quiet. We stayed during the school holidays and often there were only a handful of families around the pool so his was great and very relaxing ... No fighting for sunbeds! The penthouse is within walking distance of a couple of very nice restaurants, in particular El Gaucho. Having stayed near Calahonda several times, we didn't realise how many good quality restaurants there are in the resort. Devines was very good, very child friendly with reasonable prices.

Finally, the booking process from first enquiry to stay was a breeze! Sharon was extremely helpful with any questions we had. All in all a great place to stay and we are returning in 2015!

Great place for our Family vacation!

Stayed in La Vista with family for two weeks in the end of August. The apartment is really nice and was perfect for us (3 adults and 2 kids). The area is in general really nice with some nice pools and clean surroundings.

I would say that a car is a must in this location, even though you can walk to the closest restaurants for example, you wont be walking to the grocery store, it´s basically a steep uphill road all the way from everywhere to the apartment, especially if you are staying with little kids. But having a car makes everything much easier, and the parking space is well located just a couple of steps from the elevator which then again goes right up front to the apartment door, so having a car makes everything much easier.

The apartment is nice with three bedrooms and a small kitchen, nice living room and a really great terrace. If you got really small kids the terrace might become a concern, but ones the kids are at sleep its great for the adults to sit and relax at the terrace. Since the terrace is so big you can easily hang clothes and towels to dry and they wont be in the way for using the terrace for relaxing at the same time. Only downside of having the sun shining to the terrace all day is that the floor gets so hot you can´t walk on it without slippers :)

Calahonda is a nice little town, but if you want to go to the beach we would recommend the Mijas beach rather than Calahondas own beach abt. 10 min. drive from the apartment, same goes for nightlife, most of the restaurants in Calahonda close quite "early" if you want to have a night out so you´ll be better of by taking a taxi to Mijas or Puerto Banus for example. But since Calahonda is pretty close to both you have many options for night life..

For places to visit in the nearby area I would recommend Mijas village up on the hills (abt. 20min drive from the apartment) really nice little village with donkey and horse rides, nice restaurants and cafes, souvenir shopping etc. Also the Biopark Zoo in Fuengirola is really nice, the Aquarium in Benalmadena on the other hand is a waste of time and money, not recommended, but the Cable Car ride up to Mount Calamorro in Benalmadena is great and a lot of fun ! Remeber to check the timetable for falcon shows etc. before going up though !

All and all a great vacation, and the La Vista apartment was really nice and perfect for our needs. I would recommend the place for anyone who doesn´t need hotel services.

You are correct that Calahonda is more of a family resort with the focus being on family friendly restaurants and small bars as opposed to the busy resorts of Marbella, Banus, Fuengirola etc where bars and nightclubs can be open all night long! but for those seeking such entertainment, luckily Calahonda is only a very short distance away, so yes a great choice of night life available! We have always and continue to advice car hire to guests, not just to make the very most of their stay on the Costa del Sol with so many lovely places to visit, for those days to the beach with so much 'paraphernalia' to carry! and as you have pointed out, for the sheer convenience and ease of self catering purposes which a holiday in our apartment is all about! As with all previous guests I know you enjoyed the terrace space both day and night time and as parents with very young children, you were quite right to correctly supervise your children whilst out on the terrace just as you would on any balcony/terrace area! Your comment about how hot the terrace floor gets made me smile but reinforces that when we say it gets sun all day, we mean sun all day :-). Fantastic Holiday

We had a fantastic holiday staying in this wonderful apartment. The views from the spacious balcony were amazing. The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and included everything you could need for a very enjoyable holiday. We spent many an evening out on the terrace relaxing with a nice cool drink.

The pool was never crowded even though we stayed in August. We recommend car hire which enables you to visit all the wonderful locations the Costa del Sol has to offer.

Sharon and Darren are extremely helpful and a pleasure to speak to. All in all we highly recommend staying at this wonderful penthouse apartment.

Calahonda and the apartment, is very easily reached in around 25 minutes from Malaga airport. It is situated a few kilometres east of Marbella, right in the heart of the Costa del Sol’s “golf valley”. It is in an excellent location from which to easily visit some of the best places that the Costa del Sol coast has to offer, such as Puerto Banus, Mijas, Benalmedena, Estepona, Ronda and Granada and not forgetting Gibralter for all your Duty Free shopping and monkey encounters!

The apartment is only 5 minutes drive from 2 wonderful beaches, 2 minutes to nearest golf course, 2 minutes to large Tennis, Squash, Gym and Sauna Club, 10 minutes to Mijas Water Park and many other great family attractions reached within 15 minutes including, Aqualand, Fuengirola Zoo, Crocodile Park, Tivoli World, Sealife Centre, Selwo Safari Park, Selwo Marina, Cable Cars and Funny Beach and the apartment is only 3 minutes from an abundant choice of bars and restaurants within the resort of Calahonda itself!

Golf: The nearest golf course of 'La Siesta' is only 2 mins from the apartment, however the largest golfing complex in Spain the 'La Cala Resort' is only 15 minutes away. La Cala has three 18-hole championship courses and a top quality 6-hole par 3 layout making it the largest golf resort in the country and includes south par: 72 5,454 metres, north par: 73 5,782 metres and La Cala Europa par: 71 6,014 metres.
