We are the exclusive agents for Kyra’s House which is a lovely modern split level townhouse in a small row, nestled on a terraced hillside only 300m from the sandy beach of Almyrida. The townhouse is conveniently positioned in the middle of the row, next to the entrance archway to the pool terrace, which gives quick and easy access to the swimming pool. Both the pool terrace and the villa’s 2 balconies have fabulous uninterrupted views of the olive clad hills that surround the village and The White Mountains which are snow capped for at least 6 months of the year. Just 3-4 minutes walk from the beach and many excellent tavernas, cafes and shops, this villa is a great choice for those seeking value for money, beautiful views, comfortable accommodation, and easy access to the many local amenities. Larger groups or families who like to holiday next to each other but still value their privacy, might like to consider also booking the other townhouse that we handle in this small terrace of 5 townhouses.

The design has been carefully thought out so that all of the balconies, terraces, and the pool area benefit from the marvellous mountain and olive covered hill and valley views. The living area has prime position on the top floor of Kyra’s House whilst the bedrooms are on the lower levels, which helps to keep them cooler during the long hot summer months. The townhouse has been thoughtfully and comfortably furnished with everything that you could possible need for a relaxing holiday. The 2 shower rooms and the cloak room are fully tiled. The shower rooms have blue and grey tiles, the cloak room has terracotta and white tiles, and they all have white suites. The walls throughout the townhouse are painted white, and there are white aluminium window frames, shutters and doors which enhance the house's light and airy feel which is perfect for the long hot summers here on Crete.

Kyra’s House has 2 main bedrooms which can accommodate 5 persons but also additional sleeping room for extra guests. The lower level has a large hall/extra room which has a sofa bed that folds out into a bed for 1 extra adult or 2 small children, and the living room has a couch that folds out into a bed for an extra 2 persons to sleep on. The double bedroom and the triple bedroom are both situated next to a shower room, and they are on different floors which allows for greater peace and privacy for the guests in these rooms. There is a lockable gate across the stairs to the lower level, which enables parents to have peace of mind when the younger members of the family have gone to bed. Each terrace has outdoor furniture so that you can fully unwind and take in the views, and there is a BBQ should you choose to cook on one of the balconies. In order to make your stay all the more enjoyable Kyra’s House has been finished to a high standard and includes; pine kitchen cabinets with white fronts and a built-in wine rack, peach and terracotta mottled effect kitchen worktops, a breakfast bar, a microwave oven, a washing machine, a TV, a satellite receiver box, a DVD player, a CD player/radio, ceiling fans, and air conditioning units in the bedrooms and living room. The a/c units also double up as heaters for the cooler nights early and late season. There is Free WIFI internet access for the guests, and a parking area set just off the small road below the house that is for the sole use of the guests of the Almyrida Heights villas.

Kyra’s House has a number of outdoor balconies and terraces which are on different levels so that there are always seating areas with either sun or shade. At the front of the house is a small gravelled area that has been adorned with 3 large traditional clay pots that have been planted with palms. The south facing pool terrace is set high above the road with natural stone paving around the shared pool. There are sun-beds, umbrellas, and a panoramic view of the valley and mountains. There are olive groves on 2 sides of the Almrida Heights row of town houses, yet this beautiful countrified setting is so close to the centre of the village. This is the perfect spot from which to stroll out to dinner without having to worry about driving home.

Kyra's House is exclusively booked by Frankie Miles. Frankie runs Villas Crete Holidays which is a registered Tourist Office, based in Hampshire, England and Almyrida, Crete. Whilst most travel companies/agencies cover many different countries and/or areas of Greece and Crete, we at Villas Crete Holidays only work in the North West of Crete and we specialise in the Apokoranas region, just east of the historic Venetian town of Chania. The Apokoronas (including the villages of Almyrida, Kalives, Kokkino Horio, Plaka and Gavalohori) has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort area that has many amenities, but is far removed from brash tourism. The area is renowned for its sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, stunning views of Souda Bay and The White Mountains, excellent tavernas, and many archaeological sites.

Frankie is very hands-on at Villas Crete Holiday. She has worked with rental villas on Crete for more than 18 years and has written the best selling guide book "Crete on the Road". The book includes detailed directions and information to all the major tourist attractions, as well as many hidden sites. Also in the book is the only existing map of the National Highway showing all of the entrances/exits and distances. Before Crete, Frankie lived all over the world. All of this was no match, however, to the fantastic weather and food, the warmth of the Cretan people, and the unrivalled natural beauty of Crete.   • The spacious middle floor double bedroom has a double bed, 2 bedside cabinets with reading lamps, a chest of drawers and wall mirror, a double wardrobe with drawers and hanging space, 2 red and cream floor rugs, a cream and coffee coloured bedspread, and cream and khaki curtains. The double bedroom also has a set of double doors that lead out onto a covered balcony that looks out over olive groves and the pool terrace to The White Mountains. This balcony is furnished with a marble and wrought iron coffee table and 2 comfortable director’s chairs. There is a gate across the top of the staircase leading down to the lower floor which can be closed to stop small children accessing this floor without supervision. The lower level triple bedroom is furnished with 3 single beds, 1 bedside cabinet with a reading lamp, a chest of drawers and a wall mirror, 2 double wardrobes with drawers and hanging space, colourful bedspreads and curtains. 2 high level windows look out at the pool terrace.

Poco adatta ai bambini

La casa è fatta di scale. Sarebbe anche carina, dotata di 3 bagni di cui 2 con doccia. Accessoriata, utensili da cucina, forno a microonde, una marea di DVD. Il problema è che è disposta su tre piani ( soggiorno al primo piano, una camera all'entrata, è una rampa di scale che parte di fronte alla porta di entrata e scende nella camera al piano di sotto), le scale sono davvero ripide e pericolose per bambini. Tre cose da segnalare sono: 1. La casa è molto calda e la proprietà non dà la possibilità di attivare l'aria condizionata senza la chiave ( quindi se si esce si crea un forno), 2.Anche per l'acqua calda bisogna ricordarsi di attivare un bottone all'entrata ogni volta che si fa una doccia ( e se si è al piano di sotto si deve correre di sopra), 3. Rispetto ad altre zone di Almeryda abbiamo notato una maggior presenza di zanzare. Nel complesso il soggiorno è stato buono. Il mare è davvero bello!

The heart of the village of Almyrida is only 300m from Kyra's House and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 11 excellent tavernas, 6 cafés, 2 bars, 2 bakeries, 1 Italian ice cream shop, 1 jewellery shop, 4 mini-markets, 7 gift shops, an off-license/drinks store, a butcher's shop, a wonderful organic fruit and vegetable shop with a deli counter, a pharmacy, a nail spa, 2 kiosks, and 3 real estate offices. For the active among you there is a scuba diving office, a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, a space with pool tables and a variety of games machines, a children's activity/play centre with babysitting, and Villas Crete Holidays for tourist information, private boat hire, boat trips, big game fishing, horse riding, private sightseeing flights in a light aircraft, guided walking, and coach excursions.

A few minutes by car from Kyra's House there are a huge variety of archaeological sites, traditional villages and wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, and lace makers and folklore museum in Gavalohori. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 30 minutes away.
