Felt like I was living in Paris

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I wanted a traditional Paris apartment for a 3 week stay that was out of the main tourist areas. Eric's place was perfect - I would definitely stay there again. The apartment felt like home - we bought groceries and had breakfast and ate dinner in on occasion when tired from a long day of site seeing. Within a block or two we found 3 bakeries, two Franprix grocery stores, a cyber cafe for printing museum and event tickets, 3 great cafe's, a Monoprix (like a Target store in the US), 2 pharmacies and two Metro stops. Even a McDonalds and Burger King down the street if you can't resist. The metro line provided very convenient access to the rest of the city and the sites. About 2-3 blocks away is a huge lovely park we took a couple of long walks through in light rains. Paris is normally cool but for a Texan used to air conditioning we bought a fan (which we left) for a couple of 88-90 degree (F) days in July and did quite fine. The apartment is on a main street which provides some entertainment (we would sit on the balcony with a glass of wine) but can be a bit noisy during rush hours. However, the new double pain windows block essentially all the noise - so no problem, very quiet. Eric explained everything quite well and was very responsive by email for the couple of questions we had. GREAT APARTMENT !!

A Perfect Paris Week

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more pleased with our Paris stay! Eric Dubreuil was a charming host and was waiting to greet us and explain everything about the apartment. The kitchen was very well appointed with a dishwasher, washer and dryer, gas stovetop, and microwave. Eric also allows renters to leave kitchen staples such as coffee, sugar, tea, olive oil and vinegar. Those supplies, added to the marvelous bakery a few steps from the building, made our first morning so pleasant and free from immediate grocery shopping. The furnishings were typically French, and accented with original art, and lovely decorations making the apartment feel like a home and not a rental property. I can't think of anything I would add to make this a more perfect Paris visit. Thank you Eric!

A wonderful apartment that I will definitely stay in again.

  • 5 of 5

I recently spent a month in this apartment. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment is large for a Parisian apartment with a small well equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a small bedroom and separate shower and toilet rooms. There is a gas range and oven, a microwave, a clothes washer, a dishwasher, Internet with WiFi, a large television, a telephone and a Nespresso machine.

There are three weekly street markets within 4 blocks of the apartment, One is right outside the door of the building. There are two metro stations within a block of the apartment. The Parc Vincennes is about a 10 min walk. The park is equivalent to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. There are plenty of shops, markets and restaurants in the neighborhood. This is my favorite “quarter” in Paris.

The landlords are charming and very helpful if needed.

I will be sure that I stay in this wonderful apartment and neighborhood the next time I come to Paris.

Has to be one of the nicest rentals in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights in Eric's apartment and it was really a lovely stay. There may be nicer apartments for the money in Paris but good luck finding one. Eric was very easy to deal with and generous with his time. Everything in the apartment was as elegant as the photos. While it is situated on a fairly busy boulevard, the windows keep out all of the street noise and the bedroom actually faces a very quiet large courtyard where we heard the birds singing. While the 12th is a bit off the beaten track there are several metro stops just a short walk away on good lines that take you anywhere in the city pretty easily. We enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood which was refreshingly non touristy. Really just a sensational rental. If you can book this place count yourself lucky.

Wonderful Apartment in a charming Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property on June 24th for 7 nights. The communication with Eric before arrival was great and Eric's son met us at the apartment when we arrived. This trip we did, Venice, Rome, and Paris and this was by far the nicest of the apartments we stayed in. It was exactly as described and pictured. Our college age son joined us starting on the 3rd night and he found the sofa bed quite comfortable. The bed was comfortable as were the couches and chairs. The dining room, living room, and bedroom were quite large and very nicely decorated. Everything worked as described. Soap was provided for the dishwasher and also for the washing machine. We had a fun time trying to figure out the washing machine but in the end we succeeded. We absolutely loved the neighborhood, we didn't see another tourist the whole time we were there, we are so glad we stayed here instead of closer arrondisement. The apartment was on two different metro lines so it was easy to get into the heart. Outside the door was a bakery, next to that was a wine store, followed by a meat store which had great roast meat every afternoon, next was a green grocer and then another bakery. The grocery store was about a 5-10 minute walk. Every morning I went down for croissants and every evening we picked up the fixings for dinner on the way back to the apartment. So we usually only ate lunch out. That saved some money, which was good because Paris was definitely more expensive than Rome, plus we got to live like a Parisian. Every Sunday was a farmers market right outside which we had a great time exploring. We would gladly stay here on our next Paris trip. The deposit was promptly returned to us via Paypal since we had an early morning flight.

Elegant apartment in the 12 arrondisement

  • 5 of 5

My father and I had all the comforts of home in this lovely, well appointed apartment in the 12th arrondisement of Paris. The apartment is on the second floor - (third floor American). The building has a tiny retro-fitted elevator which stops on the staircase landings. One will need to walk up half a flight to get to the elevator and then walk down half a flight to get to the apartment. Having the elevator saved a number of steps and was very appreciated for the heavy luggage. However, this is not an apartment building for those who cannot walk steps at all. The modernized kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed - the coffee maker and dishwasher were nice to have! We stayed for two weeks, and took advantage of the washing machine (located in the kitchen). There is no dryer so I dried our clothes on a drying rack. The next morning the clothes were dry. The apartment is equipped with an iron and ironing board, but with the wonderful no-iron shirts one can buy these days, I did not need them. I hung the shirts up in the shower and they also were dry the next morning. The toilet is in a separate room from the shower/sink room. Obviously this set-up has its advantages. The water pressure in the building is excellent and made for wonderful showering (I appreciate the little things). It is to be noted, however, there is a steep step up into and down out of the shower. Caution must be used as the bottom of the shower is slippery. The apartment has one bedroom with the TV. I slept in the living room on the sofa bed. I have to say this was the most comfortable sofa bed I have ever slept on! It has a nice firm mattress and wooden slats that support it instead of American style springs. The sofa bed was also very easy to take down and put up. I was able to get the internet working with the code M. Dubreuil supplied. The Monoprix grocery store just up the block had everything we needed. Besides the Monoprix there are numerous green grocers and bakeries in close proximity. The "Au Tramway" restaurant was our very favorite in this delightful neighborhood. The metro stop is very close and we took it everyday. We felt very safe staying in this neighborhood.
