This spacious, bright, first floor apartment is situated in a quiet location of the resort, and is within a short walk to all the facilities of Dunas Douradas. These include a very large outdoor pool, a baby pool, a lovely terrace with lots of sunbeds, 2 tennis courts, Xenia the restaurant with its lively bar and the main reception. It is within a 20 mins. walk to the beach or 5 mins. drive. The mini market is beside the clubhouse.

The open plan layout of the apartment gives a feeling of light and space and as you enter the whole apartment opens up in front of you right through to the south facing covered terrace overlooking landscaped gardens. This is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet relaxing breakfast or an al-fresco barbecue evening meal.

The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and microwave, conveniently located beside the dining area.

The guest bedroom and its adjacent shower/WC room is to the right of the entrance. Here there is also a large walk-in lockup area where buckets and spades, beach body boards and additional blankets and duvets are stored. This can also be used as a lockup for any valuable items.

The south facing master bedroom floods with sunshine in the morning, it has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning units (hot and cold). The living room is very tastefully furnished to ensure easy holiday living and has a flat screen TV with cable TV, a DVD and radio/CD player. The main sofa has a pull-out bed.

Wi Fi for internet connection is available free of charge in the apartment.

MINIMARKET: There is a small mini market near the main Clubhouse which stocks the basics. In the summer it is open each day, in winter it has set times (please check these at Reception).

TENNIS: There are two tennis courts within a 3 minutes walk from the property. A resident coach is available. The courts can be booked through the main Reception.

Within a 5 minutes drive are the 14 courts of the Vale do Lobo Tennis Club and there are weekly programmes of coaching and competitions. In Quinta do Lago, there is also Jim Stewarts Tennis Academy for weekly roll-ups.

RESTAURANTS / ENTERTAINMENT: There is an immense choice of restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Information and recommendations are available form Reception or found in the info booklet in the apartment.

There are two shopping centres within a 10 minutes drive from the resort. At the Buganvilia shopping centre you will find cafés, an Italian restaurant, an Indian restaurant, and an upmarket Japanese Sushi & Steak house. During July and August, a classy nightclub/bar is open.

Quinta Shopping is an elegant open area of luxury shops and restaurants, outdoor cafés and potted trees, creating a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy lunch, dinner or just an evening drink at the nearby pub, the Melting Pot. Here you will also find 3 very upmarket restaurants, catering for most palates. If all you're looking for is a lunchtime salad or baguette, Deliti or Cubo are the perfect place.

About Linda Forbes-Van Laere

My husband (Irish) and I (Belgian) have lived in Portugal since 1987 and love this beautiful country and its people. My husband has his own business offering project management services. We have two sons (24 and 19) who are in university in Dublin.

Why Linda Forbes-Van Laere chose Almancil area

We bought the apartment because we felt that Dunas Douradas (which means golden dunes) is the perfect spot for a wonderful holiday. Although it is set in a quiet location within the resort, the apartment is close to all the facilities of the clubhouse, and the beach is just a 5 mins drive away. On the beach, sun shades and loungers can be hired, there are water sports available in the summer months and the beach restaurants are open all year. Within a short drive there are also lots restaurants and nightlife. For golfers, there are many golf courses in the area. Families can relax knowing they are in a safe environment.

What makes this apartment unique

Dunas Douradas is a fantastic resort for a holiday as it is so near the beach and many facilities.

We provide beach/pool towels so you don't have to bring those with you. There's always a good supply of buckets, spades and body boards for the kids.

Dunas Douradas is a luxury development situated on the Algarve coast, 25 minutes from Faro airport. It is conveniently located within the 'golden triangle' between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo and is within walking distance of the beach. Golfers will appreciate that 6 superb golf courses, including Quinta do Lago, Pinheiros Altos, San Lourenço and the Royal and Vale do Lobo courses are within a 10 minutes drive.

Notes:
The resort has 24 hr reception facilities and there is round the clock security. The apartment is managed locally and maid service is provided twice a week + departure clean. Extra maid service can be arranged at an extra charge. A complete linen change once a week is provided. Cots and highchairs can be provided upon request, free of charge. The sofa can be made into another bed if necessary and therefore the apartment can accommodate 5 persons. Please note that in the low seasons of December (excluding Christmas and New Year) and January the pool bar and restaurant is closed. The mini-market remains open all year.
