Sto Roloi is located right underneath Poros' picturesque landmark, the 'Roloi' (meaning 'Clock Tower') and only a few stairs above the romantic harbour. Many a visitors has whiled away the late afternoon hours on Sto Roloi's balcony watching the sun set into the see and boats of all sizes glide in, to anchor for the night.

It opens directly on to the alleyway and a small courtyard shared with the Studio, a small all-in-one unit for up to 2 persons. The Terrace Apartment is on the upper level of the house and has a living room, a large kitchen, 2 bedrooms a balcony and a terrace. It is accessed from a private courtyard. Each apartment is appointed with a cosy mixture of comfortable modern amenities and authentic Greek antiques.
When Austrian architect, Marie Luise Andoniadou, came to Poros in the early nineties for the first time, she instantly knew that this was the place for her. She has since bought and restored two 19th century houses and has recently finished a third one.
She worked with a lot of respect for the old character of the houses, and furnished them with charming antiques and country style pieces. But she also added a modern hint to them, using fresh colours and touches of luxury. Combined with service and amenities of an up scale hotel, the properties yet retain the unique atmosphere and authenticity of their charming Greek island setting.
Sto Roloi was the first one, which she converted into two 2bedroom apartments and a studio. After she finished those, she started on the Anemone Residence, which she split into a small villa with private plunge pool in the garden and the Little Tower, a secluded maisonette type studio. In summer 2007 she finished Limeri Residence, a true hide away, offering a small villa and a studio with a secluded, shared pool.

We had a perfect week at the Garden Apartment and Studio. Even before our arrival Marie Luise arranged the ferry tickets and reservation for our son and friend and Florian took care of them when the arrived one day earlier. The house was lovely decorated with beautiful tiles and nice furniture. We really felt at home. The Studio had the same decoration and was a small one room tiny house. The Terrace Apartment has a small shaded terrace garden where there is some sea view at the gate through the stairs below. And because we also rented the Studio which has a private terrace above the house in the rock garden below the Roloi Tower overlooking the whole bay, we enjoyed both terraces. The entrances of the Studio is seperated from the Garden Apartment terrace with green plants to create some privacy. For us it was perfect. Despite the small distance from shops, restaurants and bars the Roloi property is in a quiet back street away from all the noise. Sometimes villagers stopped in the shade of the house for a little chat and that was nice. Every day at noon there was hotel service and we received new towels. It was very hot during our stay but the airconditioning inside cooled the house perfectly well. We came by car and parked it at the harbour five minutes walk from the Roloi property. Florian helped us with the luggage. Walking through streets and stairs towards the house was no problem. To experience living in a quiet 19th century town house and having beaches close by was ideal for us. Marie Luise and staff did everything to make our stay at Poros perfect.
We stayed at The Roloi Property with our 5-year old twin daughters and had a wonderful time. The view from the balcony and the roof terrace is lovely and we spend the evenings there after the kids had gone to sleep. The sunset, the sea and the boats always offer something to look at.
The apartment is big enough to stay indoors if the sun is too hot before lunch without the kids being bored.
Besides the beautiful interior, we were surprised about the great service we got, such as cleaning and new towels everyday. Marie Luise, the owner of the property, was very helpful with all kinds of practical issues.
We rented bikes with seats for the kids already the first day and this gave us the opportunity to visit many different beaches nearby, which made the trip even better.
We have absolutely nothing to complain about. The only thing that may cause some problems is the stairs that leads up the house if you have a stroller or a wheelchair.
We will recommend this apartment to all friends and family.
From the first prompt email reply we got to our inquiry about staying at Sto Roloi to the warm send-off we got at the end of our vacation, our experience was excellent. We stayed in the Roloi Terrace Apartment which was spacious, clean and very prettily decorated. The lovely terrace overlooking the sea quickly became our breakfast, coffee and reading room while our private ‘avli’ was the perfectly shaded morning coffee spot. With location only metres from the main road, all amenities were easily accessible. Marie-Luise and her staff were attentive, informed and delightful to deal with which resulted in a truly relaxed and worry free vacation. We travel quite a bit and have considerable travel “karma” experience, so can pretty confidently say that the ingredients for a great experience were here – wonderful facilities in a great location serviced by lovely people.
My 22 year old daughter and I stayed in the upstairs apartment with great sea-views and roof terrace. From the moment we arrived at the port we were looked after and welcomed. We had seen pictures of the property but they did not do it justice. There were slippers and white robes and we felt we were in a lovely hotel. When we walked in our first impressions were 'wow', it was truly a lovely property with lovely antique furniture, very clean, tasteful, and as soon as you came in the door you could see the sea view. It has two air-conditioned bedrooms which are appreciated after a hot day at the beach. The jacuzzi was excellent and added to our relaxation. The beds are very comfortable. There was only two of us but it is big enough for many more. The cleaner came daily, changed the sheets and the towels every two days and kept the apartment very clean. It is situated in the main port which is great to go down for an early morning coffee..or a cocktail at night...up one staircase to the road behind the water and main port. The owner Marie-Luise is very good at customer service and truly looks after her guests ensuring that you get to know Poros and have the best time possible. She provided us with lists of attractions, and restaurants. Staff at the local restaurants were very good. We had excellent Greek food at Costa's, a small taverna at the port. His wife makes beautiful fresh food. The people in the Port were very friendly. We also went to Hydra after our stay in Poros and it was not nearly as friendly. The best beaches are a bus ride away. The blue or the white bus. They go to different beaches in different directions, and have friendly drivers who will stop where you want them to. There are many beaches with chairs and umbrellas and service on the beach. My daughter's favourite beach was Askeli with bamboo umbrellas and good service and mine was Love Bay, a quieter inlet. We also spent a couple of days at the Siren Hotel where the beds are free and it has a platform where you can dive directly into the water and a small beach. It has waiter service and a restaurant and is a lovely place to be. Poros itself is good value and a lot cheaper than Hydra. You can have very expensive days or cheap days depending on your budget or mood. We will definitely go again and we would not stay anywhere else.
The properties are situated in romantic Poros town, all with a lovely sea view: Roloi apartments and Anemone Residence facing west the bay of Poros with it's breath taking sunsets, the Limeri Residence overlooking the famous sea passage to Hydra.
On Google map Roloi property is indicated , the Residences are in different locations about a 5 minutes walk from Roloi each.
The island of Poros, due to it's geographical position being separated only by a small sea channel from the Peloponnesian mainland, offers unique beauty as well as a large variety of activities and excursions. Even the Olympic city of Athens is in easy reach for a one day excursion and yet Poros gives you all this special island feeling as if time had stood still.
Other Activities: Wake boarding, tubes, barefoot, hiking
