An short drive from Soller and the Port de Soller, Ca'n Baixo enjoys privacy and stunning views from the hills near Sa Figuera. The house sits in its own extensive grounds, planted with a variety of native trees. There is a large private swimming pool as well as an outdoor kitchen area. The house, which is all on one level, is beautifully and sympathetically decorated in a comfortable contemporary style with original art works and interesting design details. There is a large, fully equipped dining kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher and microwave oven. The sitting room has an open fire and flat screen TV.

There are three comfortable bedrooms: the master bedroom has an open fireplace and ensuite bathroom, the second bedroom has a four poster bed and the third has very comfortable twin beds. Thr family bathroom has a bidet & shower: the master bedroom has a large shower.

Outside the property: The garden has its own swimming pool and poolside seating area as well as a large private garden and olive plantations to the front and sides of the house.

Conditions: The house has a non smoking policy. We encourage families to bring small children as long as parents are careful. The pool is not toddler proof.

About Robin Gaunt

Marianne & Robin Gaunt have lived on a farm in Yorkshire for the last 35 years. With our son taking on the basic running of the farm, we decided theat a change of scenery would be beneficial.

Robin Gaunt purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Robin Gaunt chose Balearic Islands

We came across this property, where most of the exterior items were unfinished, and were immediately taken by the site, the good construction and the potential for some re-modeling as well as the width, much greater than the traditional old finca. There are no resident neighbours which makes it very private. the original layout consisted of a large living room and kitchen, the previous owner's wife being a chef. The original outdoor kitchen was suited to large family parties (20 or more) and this we have converted into a large bed-sit suite with its own (existing) bathroom. We love it!

What makes this farmhouse unique

- The pool is larger than average (9m x 5m) as opposed to most which are 8 x 4m.

- The site is very sunny but there is usually a sea breeze when it is hot (this does not apply in the market garden behind the house!)

- It is secluded but ony 10-12 minutes to Soller and Port Soller by car.

- The 7000 sq m property gives lots of room for children to play or for others to seek temporary seclusion. there are 88 olive trees and a number of citrus.

- A well constructed pergola with vines in front of the main door give both shade and, in the right season, delicious grapes.

Perfect place!

Within the last years we had a lot of holiday homes at Home Away (Spain, Italy, France, Portugal), but neither of them was nearly so perfect for a holiday stay as Ca'n Baixo! Besides some sheeps, 1 or 2 dogs and a lonesome donkey there is nothing else than tranquility. Large and perfect appointed rooms, the lovely garden and pool with magnificent views to the surrounding mountains let us never forget this delightful holiday stay in this cottage. Finally, the owner of the house is extremely communicative and cooperative - many thanks!

There are only two little "bugs" during our stay: We needed a formidable time to replace the bunch of keys in the key safe, it seems to be a bit to small. And, at the end, the weather was really to hot for hiking!

A Pure Delight in the Heart of Mallorca

We found this beautiful farm house Ca'n Baixo to be the ideal home for our stay on Mallorca. The owner is very friendly, and a delight to work with. The property unveils itself from the gated driveway, under the arbor of grapes, to the main house with comfortable furnishings highlighted by delightful original art work. A private wing for one couple is to the left. Walk right, and through the living room is their chef-designed kitchen with walk-in pantry, then further on leads to the Master bedroom suite. With two couples, it was an ideal spot to land each evening in the heart of Mallorca. Ca'n Baixo's highlight is its expansive, private pool, and we loved swimming morning, noon & night. The lambs 'baaing' was about the only sounds you hear, maybe the rustle of the train along the mountain in the distance to and from Soller . We dined outdoors with our friends under the arbor, toasting each new day of finds throughout the island. The accommodations were superb, and Soller is such a charming town! We highly recommend this 'Slice of Paradise' to those seeking privacy, who enjoy peace & quiet in a refined setting for a memorable vacation experience. We wish we there again right now! M & J

A very nice house and a wonderful view!

My family had a great stay during one week.The property was in a very good condition, very clean and well maintained. Because of its location it was very quiet. The interior decoration was very tasteful. And everything you need for a pleasant stay was available. The Pool and the view from the Garden are amazing. The communication with the owner was very kind

I can highly recommend this property .

Beautiful house in fantastic location

We spent a wonderful two weeks in the house enjoying the spacious area, pool, beautiful views and location (secluded but close to town and shops). The house is well equipped (although we missed airco/ a fan and wifi sometimes). Our three children couldn't get enough of the large pool while we spent time on the various corners/terraces of the beautifully landscaped area around the house. The house is equidistant (9 minutes by car and a 30 minute walk) to Soller and the Port of Soller. Soller is a historic and atmospheric town offering good restaurants, sight seeing and shopping. The Port of Soller is fast becoming a very exclusive holiday spot and offers excellent restaurants, an impressive beach and a good selection of water sports and activities. The Port of Soller is linked to Soller by a tram system brought from San Francisco and there are spectacular views of the coastline from the lighthouse. This area is an ideal destination for walkers, offering picturesque scenery.

There are 6 pool loungers, 6 comfortable garden chairs and cushions, 2 portable folding chairs and 6 other folding metal outdoor chairs. A large tiled table in the outdoor kitchen area, a small tiled table near pool and 2 folding metal tables. The house is suitable for the elderly or infirm as it is all at the same level but access to the pool etc is not viable. A suitable vehicle to carry a wheelchair would probably be needed. The external surface is gravel so, though viable, it may not be ideal.
