Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

A self-catering rental with magnificient views of the sea and mountains.

This is a beautiful old cottage recently renovated and equipped to a high standard including free Wifi. Nestled in the hillside above Torrox Pueblo, it enjoys magnificent views of the sea and mountains. On your door step are several lovely walks, where you can often enjoy the hospitality of the local Spanish families who will invite you in to taste their wine.

There are plenty of terraces around the cottage for you to enjoy. A pretty covered terrace to the front of the cottage provides wonderful views across the valley and has a large wrought iron table and chairs for al fresco dining. To the left and at the same level is the well equipped BBQ area. Follow this down between two lovely old olive trees and you will come to another terrace which is great for coffee and tapas and enables you to look down over the village and out to sea. A few steps down is a sun terrace with shade and large private pool where you are completely secluded and can relax undisturbed all day if you wish.

Golf: The coastline east of Malaga is served with several good golf courses. Anoreta and Baviera are only 20 minutes away.

Skiing: The ski resort nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, near Granada is a wonderful ski experience and can be reached within 2 hours drive from Torrox. Locals often make an early start and just go up to ski for the day making it a very affordable event.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We spent two weeks at this Finca in August 2011 with our two kids aged

11 and 12. Like any holiday, you're always a bit nervous before you

arrive at the accommodation you've booked: Is it like the brochure? Will

we like it? I hope it's exactly as I imagined? Well, we needn't have

worried because this lovely little hillside Finca exceeded our

expectations in every way. The location is stunning, nestled on the side

of a hill with fantastic views overlooking Torrox with the sea beyond.

We spent hours on the spacious balcony watching the sun go down. The

house is well equipped, tastefully furnished and clean and tidy. There's

plenty of outdoor space and we loved the fact that there were different

areas to spend our time, having evening drinks and dinner. We mainly

BBQ'd for an evening meal or ate out at one of the restaurants in

Torrox. We did a day trip to the caves in Nerja and explored the town

for the day. We went to Burriana beach a couple of times which we highly

recommend, spent a day at Torremolinos Aqua Park and an afternoon and

evening exploring La Frigiliana. Apart from that, we spent lazy days by

the beautiful pool, relaxing and reading. There was a very welcome

hamper for us on arrival to tide us over until we got to the

supermarket. My tip would be to check all the drawers and cupboards in

the villa to see what provisions there are as we ended up buying stuff

that we needn't have. The road is a little tricky but you soon get used

to it. All of us had a great time and we'll definitely be back.

Amazing villa in a beautiful location. Loved the privacy and peace. Excellent pool

  • 5 of 5

Villa is a bit off the beaten track but it's worth it for the brilliant views, privacy and a real sense of peace. The accommodation has everything you need and you get off to a great start with the generous welcome hamper. The layout is perfect for that mixture of comfort and lazy days around an excellent pool. The location is great for visiting the local towns and villages and you do get used to the winding road to the villa. Overall an amazing two weeks and hated leaving. Oh and watch out for the local black cat - she is lovely but is a devil for tripping you up

Torrox Finca Stay

  • 5 of 5

Well, where do I start? A fantastic finca in the hills above both Torrox village & Torrox Costa. Views to die for! If you are looking for a 'get away from it all holiday', this is the place. Once you have navigated the tricky steep and windy roads to the finca, you will have arrived at a place that you will not want to move away from. You will need a car!

A welcome pack was really appreciated, as we had forgotten that Spanish supermarkets are closed on a Sunday!! Thank you Lynda & John.

The finca is well equipped and has all the kitchen utensils you will ever need. Air conditioning in the main bedroom wasn't needed as the temperature within the finca was constant.

We both really enjoyed the location, not overlooked, sitting on the terrace enjoying a glass of wine and tapas (cooked on the gas BBQ), enjoying the views to the sea. Swimming pool was excellent which received the sun from around 11.45am until sunset - ideal and safe for children.

There was no need for us to move once we had shopped for our provisions and we totally enjoyed our 4 days in Torrox and will definitely be returning for a relaxing get away from it all holiday again later in the year.

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a chill out bolt hole and boy did we get it!

The location was stunning and everything good I had read about the property before we arrived was true.

This week was about spending quality family time together and it is the ideal place to do it.

A car is essential but there is everything you could need in Torrox Pueblo/Torrox Costa & Nerja all a short drive away.

Missing it already...

Perfectly secluded finca

  • 5 of 5

We had a blissful weekend at this little finca for our wedding anniversary. Lynda was really helpful and prompt with the booking as our Hotel in Ronda had cancelled a few days before we were due to fly out. The drive up there is very steep and windy and our little hire car didn't like it but it was worth it for the location. (I would get a decent hire car if you can afford one). The directions provided were excellent though, great map!

Lynda and John have made the finca a real home from home with all the little extras that are appreciated when you are doing a short break. The beds were really comfy, beautiful quality linen and towels. Wifi and cable tv if you need it, we didn't bother. Adaptor plugs etc and a welcome pack of beer, wine and milk.

The setting is gorgeous, very secluded. We enjoyed swims in the pool a bbq and reading our books on the top terrace.

We have visited this area many times before so went back to our favourite place Frigiliana on Saturday. Also had a good walk and lovely traditional food down at Torrox Costa.

I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet getaway with stunning views. Plenty to see and so in the area and all mod cons.

Lovely, relaxing holiday, beautiful Finca and surroundings!!

  • 5 of 5

We have had a wonderful stay at Finca Jacaranda. The Finca is brilliantly equipped and is perfect for a family of four. The views are beautiful and our children loved the pool. The journey up to the Finca is abit nerve wracking but you soon get used to it and once you arrive, it is all well worth it. Thank you Lynda and John for the memories.

Rural seclusion in a wonderful a setting.

  • 5 of 5

Having only a week to unwind, Finca Jacaranda provided the utmost in peace, tranquility and relaxation in a stunning location. The Finca is quaint, and has all the amenities needed. A lovely pool, terraces for dining with amazing views, and a modern barbecue are some of the luxuries provided. We wanted for nothing, other than help to find the Finca on arrival, however, once found, the drive is fine. The local village is a picture postcard. We ambled through the quiet streets acknowledging the elderly residents sitting out in the warm evenings. There are small bars and restaurants in the village, simple but full of character. The beaches of Torrox Costa are only 15 minutes away. We preferred those to the East as they were quieter, and had many beach restaurants. We loved every minute of our stay at Finca Jacaranda and would recommend it to couples. The description is accurate, the property immaculately presented and clean. We didn't meet the owners but communicated with them before our trip. They provided named local contacts who we met on arrival and mid week.

Torrox Costa
Car: necessary

Torrox is a typical Andalucian white village and has all the ambiance of old Spain with a quaint square offering tapas bars, restaurants and shops together with an impressive church. 10 minutes away you will find Torrox Costa with it's long sandy beach, wonderful promenade, good quality restaurants and water sports. The beautiful town of Nerja is only 15 minute drive along the coast and is lively, full of restaurants, shops and pretty beaches. There are a number of great coastal and countryside walks if you are wanting to explore the area on foot. If you are looking to visit some of the cultural attractions in Southern Spain then the cities of Malaga, Granada and Sevilla are all within reasonable driving distance.
