A turquoise ocean view follows you throughout the entire house. Here beside the blue Pacific is a place where you can barbecue, relax, and enjoy the cool trade winds and the fine tropical sunsets sinking into the sea. No filters needed on your camera. The colors are on this site are not filtered.
When looking @ other properties, is the beach in front of their property true? Most are rocky and hardly any sand. Our pictures are TRUE. This is the beach IN FRONT of our home!

My wife and I fell in love with Kauai over 20+ years ago. We loved it so much we decided to build a house and rent it out so others could enjoy the beauty as well. We currently own two houses in Kauai. One on the North Shore, Oceanfront (Haena - near Tunnels Beach) and the other on the South, Oceanfront (Poipu - Brennecke's Beach). Our children loved both sides of the islands, so that is why we have one on the North and one on the South. It's funny, but the North and the South side are very different and hopefully you can enjoy both. My wife and I go back to the houses on a regular basis to always check and maintain the houses. My children are grown up, but still enjoy coming back. When you book either properties, I'm always available to answer questions via email or phone, before and during your trip. We love Kauai and would like you to experience the beautiful island of Kauai too.
Steve Sedgwick purchased this house in 2001
We picked this property because of the beautiful sandy beach in front of the house. The colors on the website, are the actual colors of the ocean, no filters. My wife isn't the best swimmer, but doesn't get scared because she can see fish and not go far out. She now goes far because the reef keeps her protected and she knows no sharks can get her because of he protection of the reef. Our friends fell in love with the property. They thought the house was a bonus. They just fell in love with the beach and the area. They loved seeing the endless stars in the sky. We love this house and have so many family memories, watching our children enjoy the property from being so little (3 and 5) to now. They are off in college, but anytime they can come, they are there. I hope you and your family can make memories like ours and experience the splendor of this property and the Island of Kauai.
The beach is unique because it doesn't have a beach access right next to it. So, the beach seems private and all yours. Other homes near us have rocks and hardly any sand and can't swim without having to walk to a clear path where it's sandy. The coral reef in front of the house is like a horse shoe, which gives you swimming year round. You don't have to go far out in the ocean to see all types of marine life. Don't be surprised if a turtle passes you by. The endangered Hawaiian Monk seal will sometimes sunbathe and relax by the house in the sand. Remember, they are endangered, so please give them their space. We have seen the whales in migration and have the privilege of seeing one of them breach. It was spectacular. Night time we can see the twinkling lights of Hanalei Bay and thousands of stars.
My partner and I had a great vacation in Haena, Kauai. Our beach front house was perfect. It had a beautiful ocean view, was comfortable and cozy, and had all the right amenities. The owner was very nice and very responsive to all our needs. Very highly rated experience. We definitely will be back.
Things we loved:
-working with owner
-Netflix at night
Our family of 6 went to Kauai for 2 weeks and stayed here in this house for 4 nights at the end. We truly saved the best for last! It was a great location, right on the beach. The huge windows let us look out at the surf and across at Hanalei Bay in the distance. There was great snorkeling right out the back door and Tunnels was within walking distance (although a decent walk in the sand). We used the grill one night for a cookout and enjoyed the constant sound of the waves and wind. We hope to go back to Kauai on a regular basis and when we do, this house would definitely be a place we would stay again!
We recently stayed here for 5 nights, and we loved it. The house is perfect for people who travel together but want their own private space. Each bedroom had very nice bathrooms. The sound of the ocean put us all to sleep nicely. We were most impressed by the nature around us. Everywhere you look is a beautiful view. We would definitely go back.
Thinking back on our days in Hawaii, it wasn't only the breathtaking island that amazed us, but the beautiful home on the North Shore. Both made quite an impression. The newly renovated and decorated home, set just 20 feet from the sand was way beyond our expectations. To be able to walk out the door, down a the front steps and be on the beach in less than a minute, nothing beats that! Few if any passers by. It was like having our own private beach, with snorkeling in the "backyard"! Sitting out on the balcony in the morning and at the end of the day gave us an amazing view of the crystal blue waters and a rainbow, too! The home was the perfect distance to the Kalalau Trail where we took an amazing hike along the Na Pali coast. If we didn't feel like going out to dinner, the kitchen cupboards were equipped with everything you'd need, and in the carport was a BBQ gas grill, with the propane tank filled and ready when we decided to grill. If we had any concerns, no need to...Steve Sedgwick was extremely accommodating. He answered every question we asked during our planning, and was available for us if we needed him while we were there. The personal attention really made for a perfect vacation. We are already trying to plan our next visit. I can't imagine staying anyplace else. Enjoy your visit! You won't be disappointed and you probably won't want to leave!
We arrived in Kauai and wended our way north from the airport to our home of the next 4 days. Never having spent any time in this part of Hawaii, we did not know what to expect. Well, there was nothing to worry about…this beautiful 3 bedroom home exceeded our dreams.
It was right on the sand, literally…the living space is on the second floor above the carport, overlooking the beautiful Pacific. The home was clean, each couple had our own bedroom and bath with plenty of dresser and closet space. The kitchen was well appointed, we stayed in and cooked a couple of nights and found everything necessary to create the meals we made.
In the mornings we sat on the balcony, drinking coffee and watching the sunrise. The only way to describe the colors is “saturated.” Every picture we took looks like the color was amped up, but it wasn’t, the aqua of the ocean meeting the soft umber of the sand drifting up to the emerald grasses… Haena sounds a little like “heaven” and that’s what it felt like.
Everything about the house was perfect, the one thing that was most concerning to me before arriving was having wi-fi, often that can be problematic. It was like being at home, accessible and fast.
What made our stay even better was the owner, Steve, he answered every question we had and made sure to give us his cell phone number in case of any emergencies or last minute queries.
GO! And rent this home for a week or two or three… You will return every year to enjoy this little corner of the world. Aloha!
