About Bill McBlaine
We're outdoor fanatics and love to share our passion for the mountains with others. Whether it's skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, or hiking and backpacking in the summer, Mammoth is one of our favorite places in the world. We've also fallen in love with the spirit of the Mammoth Lakes community, and are fortunate to volunteer for the Disabled Sports Program. We hope you'll check out DSES online or when you visit. It's an incredible organization.
Bill McBlaine purchased this Townhouse in 2014
Why Bill McBlaine chose Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort
We both grew up backpacking in the Eastern Sierra in the 1960s, a pretty unusual background and one of the things that immediately drew us together. Buying a place in Mammoth, where we both spend so much time, was a no-brainer. But finding the right unit took some time. We had strict criteria, and knew that this was our mountain home the minute it came on the market. It's south-facing (lots of light!), can accommodate a group of family or friends without feeling crowded, we loved the soaring cathedral ceilings and picture windows, and the complex has a "campus like" feel. In addition, it's within walking distance to old Mammoth, and doesn't require us to ride up a big hill when we finish a day of cycling!

We had a great time and would come back again on our next trip to Mammoth
Labor Day Weekend at High Sierra Basecamp Condo
The high sierra basecamp condo was exactly as advertised. The location is convenient for both local errands and for getting out of town to go hiking and fishing. I would recommend this VRBO for a family of 4-5.
Perfect Mammoth base camp
We had a great time staying here. The condo was clean, cozy and full of everything we needed -- hair dryer, coffee maker, you name it. It's the ideal location to get to Mammoth Mt., the lakes, Reds Meadow, Yosemite, basically everything. Highly recommend. Thanks so much!
Thank you, Heather. So glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return visit.
Amazing location, great hosts! We spent about half our week in Yosemite -- the condo is less than an hour from the Tuolomne area. We had an absolute ball. This cozy condo was a perfect place to unwind after long days in the park!
Thanks Matthew. Sounds like you had a great trip and enjoyed some of the Sierra Highlights. We look forward to your return visit.
Great base for a Mammoth extended weekend!
We had a great time at Bill's place! Large enough to accommodate 5 adult friends, we were able to walk down to restaurants and shops no problem. Clean and equipped with amenities. Thanks!
Thanks Niels. We look forward to your return visit!
Loved our time in the condo. Just perfect!
Thanks Charmaine. We're glad it was the perfect basecamp for your Mammoth adventure.
