About the property

3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom with 60 ft dock prime location on St. Lawrence River

This one of a kind property is located directly on the Saint Lawrence River on the mainland just outside of Alexandria Bay, NY. One of the best fishing spots on the river, you can fish from the dock just meters off the main channel of one of the most beautiful water passages in the world. 200 feet of water line with direct access to lovely swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boat dockage for boats 25 feet or less, jet ski dockage and just plain relaxing. This PET-FRIENDLY cottage is on 1 acre of land with over 200 feet of water line. Two self contained dog runs are located very close to the cottage. A post and rail fence contains the property. This summer cottage has been in my family since purchased in 1959. The cottage was built in 1967 out of cedar. The kitchen has been totally renovated in the Winter of 2015 with all new cabinetry, new appliances including electric range, refrigerator, microwave. Patio enclosure deck allows beautiful vista of the river with full access view of the waterline. The cottage is clean and neat. Cottage sleeps 6 comfortably with 3 bedrooms including one queen, one king, and 2 single twin bunk beds. A recliner sofa is great for extra little ones or younger children if necessary. There is one full bathroom with shower and bath tub facility with one half bath (toilet and wash bowl) in one bedroom (containing the queen size bed). While the cottage may be small, it is very clean and easy to use. The beauty of this property is the outdoor features including a 60 foot channel facing dock great for fishing, swimming, and relaxing, along with the more secluded boating dock around the cove side for dockage of a small boat (25 ft or less with draft of 2.5 ft or more) and/or jet ski. Water is potable and is drawn from the river which is sanitized by a chlorination and UV light. Full Wifi and Cable are included. There is one main TV in the living room salon along with a TV that plays DVDs and videotapes in room with bunk beds. This is one-of-a-kind property is perfect for families with children or fisherman, young adults or teenagers, elderly, couples or singles. Two kayaks are available for use. The location of this property is directly on the most beautiful section of the river with views of Boldt Castle, Longvue Island, Wellsley Island and the main channel.

About Edwina Kinchington

I am an Educator in secondary education in the City of Pittsburgh. I did cancer research for almost 18 years before becoming a teacher. I love the water - it is in my blood. I was a competitive swimmer in my youth and competed in the 1984 and 1988 US Olympic trials. I love swimming in the St. Lawrence. My husband is also in education as professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Edwina Kinchington purchased this cottage in 1959

Why Edwina Kinchington chose Alexandria Bay

Campbell's Linden Cove property was purchased by my Mother and her Father in 1959 as a summer vacation spot. My Mother's family were from Alexandria Bay with the Campbell's (my Mother's maiden name) being doctors in the area. My parents were married in Alexandria Bay and they vacationed here in the late 1950's and 1960's. There had been a large victorian home on the property which became too much to maintain. My parents build the present cottage in 1967 shortly after my sister and I were born. My mother loved this property and we vacationed here more in my older life. My own family (husband, 2 children and dogs) have grown to love the river and the property. Unfortunately, my mother died in 2011. We have made many renovations to the cottage with a brand new kitchen, all new windows, patio enclosure room, 60 ft main channel dock and 30 foot boating dock. We want to keep the property in our family but in order to do that we need to help support the upkeep and taxes which is why we are renting. We hope that you grow to love the property as much as we do.

What makes this cottage unique

We love dogs and our dogs love the river. We want to allow renters to bring their pets so they can all enjoy it. There are 2 large and secure dog runs on the property if needed. The location of this property is prime waterfront on the Saint Lawrence River. You can safely swim, kayak, boat, fish while watching the lakers go by. We are 1 mile up river from Alexandria Bay, 3 miles from the Bridge. You can sit on the dock and watch the spectacular fireworks at Boldt Castle. There is almost 1 acre of land surrounded by a post and rail fence. The water line is truly amazing with a small island with a bridge. This is one of the most beautiful places in the world and my family has a great deal of heritage here.

This place was exactly like it is billed. Gorgeous location directly on the main channel. The owner provided timely and good communication from the day I booked. The owner was friendly and helpful. The cottage was cozy and clean. Had no issues with anything advertised. Would definitely book again and recommend to a friend!!!

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We all had a lovely time and would book again. A beautiful setting and close to all activities. Very comfortable. Loved the fact that we didn't need to bring much since all towels and sheets etc were provided. Many other little extras too. Sat by camp fire (wood provided) and watched the ships go by. Fun!

Loved it!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our needs. Seeing the ships practically on the dock was amazing. Winnie loved chasing the chippies. The cottage was quaint and well appointed. The Thousand Islands area is full of history, well worth a second visit!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your visit. While October is late in the season the weather was mild and water still warm. Some restaurants have more limited service but October is a beautiful time at the river. Thank you.

The most breath taking sunsets

  • 5 of 5

Linden cove was everything we expected and more. The pictures do not do this cottage or the property justice. Cottage is adorable and had everything we needed. The property had a massive dock, and another attached island. The water was cold but so clear you could see several feet down. We swam, kayaked, we caught over 60 little fish and one good size one. We did catch and release with all of them. We shopped in Alaxandria bay, visited a cpl restaurants and went on the 2 nations boat cruise and then to bolt castle which was absolutely beautiful. If you stay here you have to go to nav's popcorn place in the village. The popcorn is addictive just ask my family they ate 9 bags in one week! The view of all the barges/ships going by the cottage was incredible. The sunsets were amazing I had to take pictures every night as the colors changed. At night we had bon fires and listened to the water. My family had a amazing time and can't wait to go again.

House well stocked with kitchen dishes, pots and pans, etc. Linens supplied, beds comfortable.

Dock on main channel with another protected dock for boat tie up. Wonderful view of the river from the house, and easy access to the dock.
