Great little getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Clean and Cozy studio everything you need for a weekend beach getaway all in one place. Fresh newer built cottage, everything was clean, beach was just a couple sand dunes away. Bed was only a queen, a bit tight for 2 large "typical American" adults, but of good quality and plenty comfortable. Look both ways when crossing the beach some people drive pretty fast, most were cautious of family beach goers however. You can find sand dollars everywhere at low tide which made for great beach walks and the sunsets were postcard perfect. We would definitely stay here again.

Unbeatable view and the perfect home to compliment it!

  • 5 of 5

We found the Hanson Lane cottage and booked it right away as it was one of the last beach front homes seemingly anywhere on the coast for the last razor clam dig of the season, and we are so glad we did. Starting with the driveway, you instantly realize you have great privacy because the rear of the home is buffered by a scrub pine forest and the view looking east from inside is the same. The main level deck is wide and covered and has room for everyone to take in the stunning panoramic Pacific Ocean view. The studio style cottage is new and modern but keeps the feel of a beach cabin with the decor and the wonderful butcher block style counter tops. Modern and clean appliances, comfortable furniture and beds, but the light of the floor to ceiling windows on two sides view the amazing views are what makes this place! It was almost too intimate for us and our 2 1/2 year old but that's not the cabins fault! We are already planning a getaway here without the little one because it would be ideal for a couple looking to spend some alone time! It is outfitted with enough cooking supplies and other kitchen ware to cook for and feed a dozen people. A few games, books puzzles and cards are available but the built in storage keeps the small area clutter free.

The owners were always quick in answering any questions I had before our stay and there isn't a laundry list of do's and don'ts just a few basic things that any responsible person can handle.

The path to the beach starts below the deck and in about two minutes you summit the small dunes and the Pacific is your backyard. Vehicles are allowed on this stretch of coast and since it was the final razor clam dig of the year the traffic and crowds were both there. But today as we left the sun was shining and we literally had miles of beach all to ourselves and our morning coffee.

The only small gripe I would have is that it would be nice to have a small boardwalk around the base of the bottom of the cabin to keep the wet sand from invading everything you touch on your way back to the house and provide more usable outdoor space. And what is the mystery loft all about.....

All in all this is really a perfect place to get away from it all. We will be back for sure!

Another Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We love staying here because of the peace and quiet. The view is amazing, especially the waves and the Bald Eagles. Our dogs love the daily walk/runs at the beach that is conveniently easy to get to. Thanks again for another great stay!

Great place for you and your spouse; Full size bed only

Loveseat Couch but its not a sleeper

Bring the staples like paper towels, non-stick skillet, kitchen is otherwise nicely stocked

Grocery store in Westport is about 4 miles away

Good wi-if so BYOD and speakers for movie or music streaming, no TV (you’re at the beach)

Easy trail to the beach, unobstructed view just like the say

Our favorite vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

Pete's beach house is great. Everything is so clean and feels brand new, but it also feels like home. It has everything we need to make meals and lounge around, and couldn't be closer to the beach. It's our favorite place to come for a long weekend, and we can't wait to come back!
