Enjoy the spacious kitchen/dining room, perfect for feeding a large group of hungry skiers. there are 2 rooms with double beds, 1 room with sturdy bunk beds, 1newly renovated twin room with balcony/great views, additional single bed on spacious landing.

Apres ski: For those wanting to experience gourmet French cuisine, there is a fabulous choice of restaurants, not least the Michelin starred “La Bouitte” in the neighbouring hamlet of St Marcel (3 minutes drive), which you can ski to for lunch or enjoy at night. Such is “La Bouitte’s” reputation that customers arrive by helicopter from Courchevel or Méribel. Straight off the slopes you can enjoy a vin chaud at the “Eterlou” terraced restaurant/bar at the foot of the St Martin drag lift. A gentle stroll from the house, St Martin offers a good variety of restaurants and bars including “La Voute” restaurant and pizzeria, The Billig with its satellite TV for sporting events and free wifi, the “Pourquoi pas” piano bar, the high quality Montagnard restaurant. The nightlife of Les Menuires is within striking distance for clubbing as is the day club, La folie douce, on the slopes of Val Thorens, playing music from 3pm.

Ski hire, lift passes and ski lessons.: St Martin, Belleville valley and Three Valley lift passes can be bought from the office next to the St Martin chair lift.

Nearby is the ESF office (Ecole du ski français) which provides ski lessons in English and French as well as their creche.

St Martin offers a variety of ski hire options. We recommend using the Twinner shop next to the chairlift in St Martin who will give you a 20% discount if you say you are resident at chez Prifti in Villarabout.

All the above are a 10 minute walk, 3 minute drive or 0.9km from the house.

If you want to guarantee ski lesson availability of your choice, it is highly recommended to book in advance, as lessons get booked up, especially in the busy holiday periods. Ski guides can also be booked from the ESF, essential if you want to enjoy the delights of the local off piste terrain in safety.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just returned after our second Christmas at Chez Prifti. We are a party of two families with four adults and five (mainly grown up) children. There is plenty of space in the apartment split over 3 floors. The kitchen/dining area is brilliant for après ski drinks while preparing the evening meal. The kitchen has plenty of pans, crockery etc. and comfortably seats nine around the table. Last year we invited two friends, who were staying in St Martin, up for Christmas dinner and had a very enjoyable evening around the table followed by ‘Elf’ then charades in the lounge upstairs – a memorable Christmas day. The bedrooms and shower downstairs are small but serviceable and all the showers (plus the bath if you need to soak away your exertions) have plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The first year we found it easiest to leave the skis in the cars and drive down to St Martin, this year there was no snow in St Martin so we drove to Val Thorens (where there was plenty) which took about 20 minutes (free parking by the Cairn/Carin cable station). The hamlet is very quiet and has no shops/bars so the accommodation suits people who are happy to stay in with their own company. There are very steep stairs in the apartment which could be a problem with very young children or anyone with mobility issues. We have had two lovely holidays at Chez Prifti and recommend it.

Good property...great skiing

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our week's stay in Chez Prifti. The rooms are spread over 3 floors and the lounge, kitchen/dining and main bedroom are lovely. The house is warm and well equipped and the WiFi and Sky TV a real plus for our teens. One downside was the very steep stairs within the house. For skiing you are a 1km drive to the main village of St Martin and the large free car park is 100m from the ski gondola which takes you up to a fast chair lift into over 600km of pistes to suit all abilities. We hired our skis from Jean Sports 2000 and found them very helpful and friendly. Overall we would recommend Chez Prifti.

Arolle - spacious well maintained accommodation

  • 5 of 5

This is a spacious, well maintained, clean and well equipped apartment. We were a party of 7 and there was plenty of room for us all. We were particularly impressed with the kitchen/dining area as it was well laid out and perfect for dining in. The showers are powerful and there is plenty of hot water. The apartment is well heated as well. The apartment is set back from the road and in a quiet location. The property description is accurate, but we have stayed in a number of different locations within the village over the last 11 years and we all agreed we would happily recommend this apartment and would book it again for future holidays.

The apartment is at the bottom of the village so you do have to walk up the hill to the button lift, but it is only a 10 minute walk and didn't bother us at all. You could take the car and park further up the village, but by the time you have loaded and unloaded skis you could have walked anyway.

You can hear some noise from the apartment above as the chairs made a noise on the floor when they were moved. We were not in the least bothered by this as it is obvious the apartments have good sound insulation and any noise was muffled.

The village is pretty and unspoilt and not full of night life for youngsters, but there are bars and restaurants and a Huit a Huit for general groceries and a bakers. La Voute is a popular restaurant and it is advisable to book. We tried The Billig (2 minutes walk from the apartment) as it has changed hands and it offers free Wifi. It has a strange arrangement as you walk through a noisy bar area to gain access to a large quiet dining area. It was ok, but nothing special.

If you intend to eat in you would be well advised to call at the supermarket in Moutiers prior to ascending the mountain up to the village as you will have more choice and the fridge is large enough to accommodate your provisions. There is also an excellent selection of pots and pans for cooking purposes.

During our week it snowed several times and the owner cleared the snow away from the parking area so we always had good access to and from the apartment.

If you need ski hire and tuition this is all available in the village and there are several sports shops, a chemist and gift shops.

We hope you will find this information helpful and you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
