Relax in your very private hot tub, sunk into a 900 square foot wrap-around deck, surrounded by trees, and overlooking a beautiful swimming lake accessed from a dock by the property.
This idyllic retreat is truly the best of both worlds; perfectly positioned for winter and summer vacations. Many windows and two sets of French doors opening onto the large wrap-around deck make this fully-equipped home light and bright in all seasons.
Situated in a natural, rural setting amongst the trees, you can enjoy privacy while relaxing in the hot tub on the deck and enjoying the view of the lake. Cross-country ski, mountain bike, hike or walk - off the beaten track - directly from your door.
The lake is regularly frozen in the winter and ice skating is possible. In the summer the lake is exceptionally warm and is perfect for swimming with access from the dock situated on the property. Walk or take your boat over to the two beaches on the lake. Snow and water toys are available for your use or you can use the private tennis courts.
Located in a private, gated estate 15 minutes south of the Whistler Creek Gondola, with access to some of the best skiing in North America and the many fine restaurants, stores, and entertainment available in Whistler. From this rural, relaxing oasis you can enjoy everything that Whistler has to offer.
Chartered accountant, originally from the UK,living in Vancouver since 1980. Currently CFO of a B.C. crown corporation. My wife Therese is a hairstylist and we have 3 grown boys, who do not seem to want to leave home.
Richard Hunter purchased this house in 1992
We searched throughout southern B.C. for a vacation home and were extremely lucky to find Pinecrest Estates. There are only 75 homes in the estate and the ones on the lake never change hands. It has the perfect year-round appeal. It truly is a slice of Canadiana for a Brit like me. Snow, skate and ski. Mountains, canoeing, swimming and forest. Away from all of the shops and crowds in Whistler, but close enough if you need it. Plus the logs ... so cozy.
We have been staying at this cabin for many years, but it had been a couple of years since our last stay. It's always a welcome retreat--so warm and cozy--and it was nice to see a few updates and improvements since our last visit. This time we went for a family weekend; other times we have gone with friends. Whatever your purpose, this cabin is the perfect retreat! We would recommend to friends and family and are always happy to go back. And Richard is a great host--very accommodating and great communication. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin!
This is our second stay at the cabin. Our first stay was in July when we could swim in the lake. Now it is November and the snow is falling. The cabin is warm, clean and cozy and meets all of our needs. We love being able to enjoy activities in Whistler and Squamish with just an easy and short drive up or down the highway. We also enjoy hanging out at the cabin enjoying the beautiful snowy views, or walking around the lake and through the Pinecrest and Blacktusk communities. We will be back again soon!
The lakefront log home looked to be the perfect fit for a family re- union and wedding in whistler.I was looking for something other than a condo, something that would give 4 couples privacy but also a cosy family feel.It didn't disappoint ,there was enough room that you didn't feel on top of each other. The kitchen is large, well equipped and the table sat all eight of us.The living room is spacious the fireplace fabulous and the furniture cosy.
The 4 bedrooms (hard to find ,usually a pull out couch)were comfortable and roomy.
Situated on a lovely little lake ,a quick drive to Whistler or Squamish ,it was the perfect place.
This was my first time renting with V.R.B.O ,i was delighted with the experiance..
thankyou Richard for the info before arrival, the telephone call after just to make sure we were settled .
Beautiful, comfortable 4 bedroom home on a quiet little lake. Great clean hot tub on deck overlooking lake, nice little dock for hanging out in AM with coffee or evening with wine. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen-we cooked most of our meals at the house. Nice large table big enough for all 7 of us. Spent a week here with 6 other women on hiking adventure, we were able to find several awesome trails from Sqaumish to Pemberton, even one we accessed about 3 blocks from this house. Richard was very responsive to any questions or needs we had. My friends and I have been renting through VRBO for many years and we all rated this home as one of the best we have ever rented. Thanks, Richard.
The cabin is beautifully situated on a quiet, small lake with gorgeous views of the mountains. The kitchen is very well equipped, the fireplace is amazing and we spent lovely evenings curled up in blankets on the dock sipping wine and enjoying our surroundings. We were only 15 minutes from Whistler Village which was perfect for enjoying the restaurants, shopping and mountains but escaping the crowds of tourists in the evenings. This was the last of three stops for us during our trip to BC, and it was definitely everyone's favorite. We cannot wait to return in the winter for skiing.
My family and I enjoyed 5 days at the cabin and enjoyed every minute of it. We found the cabin to be cozy, well supplied and perfect in every way for our vacation. We have traveled a lot as a family and my 21 year old daughter was giddy when she said, "thanks mom and dad! This is possibly my favorite place we've ever visited as a family! We were fortunate in that the neighboring cabin was not used during our stay, so we didn't have to share the dock. As it was, we used the dock morning, day and night. The star gazing is amazing from the dock, as well as we enjoyed them from the hot tub on the deck. It was great to hike in the day and soak at night! As for one recommendation / advice: Don't miss the Peak2Peak experience, Joffre Lakes for a spectacular hike, and I would advise you to buy your groceries in Squamish if you're driving north to Whistler to save money for the same quality food. We definitely hope to book again with Richard in the future.
