About the property

Cozy Studio With Views - Outdoor Seating for Full Rock and Embarcadero Views

From this studio's location you can walk minutes to restaurants, wine tasting, live music, all on the scenic Morro Bay Embarcadero. With working fishing boats mixed among sail boats, paddle boarders and kayaks and the 582 foot tall Morro Bay Rock as backdrop your phone's camera storage might run out from all the picturesque settings!.

You can walk to fresh fish markets, art galleries and Captain Stew's Bay Cruises. Newly remodeled, this comfortable studio has a full kitchen with dining area. Stocked with all standard utensils you can prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner with plenty of space, not cramped.

This studio has a Queen size bed as well as a fold out comfortable Double sleeper couch. Unique is In addition to the mattress the sleeper has an air cushion topper that fills up quickly with an electric pump.

There are views through two windows, one in the living area, the other in the dining area. However, just outside you are steps from the patio with full views of the Embarcadero, the Harbor and the crevices of the 582 foot tall Morro Bay Rock. No problem enjoying a glass of wine on the patio..

This studio is for the traveler that likes older, authentic places. Not cookie cutter. We remodeled with antiques and furnishings not from chain stores. There's ambiance with the wall electric fireplace and decor. Not fancy but really nice and comfortable. Though a studio, with the kitchen you have everything needed, standard pot and pans, dishes, silverware to make all meals. All utensils, pots and pans are new.

Parking is steps from your door. No street parking.

This is a quaint roomy studio that is as close to the Embarcadero as those who are paying a lot more.

Pacific Street Cottages is comprised of this studio, two 2 bedroom homes and two 1 bedroom residences. Of the eight residences, five are available. Three are being remodeled. The layout is horseshoe shaped with parking in the center.

Our guests need to understand the grounds are not finished but our available residences are. You will not be inconvenienced by the painters and others doing the remodel, there is no loud machinery, an occasional drill, but that's it.

You're much more apt to hear the sounds of nature in the background. Seals barking and gulls squawking are heard more than any other sound on the property.

Because there is work being done on the grounds, and in appreciation of your understanding, our posted rate is 20% less than when we are finished with remodeling. Our special remodel rate will be grandfathered and honored for one year after your stay.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to talk with you.

Why Gary Mulholland and Gary Freiberg chose Morro Bay

Living by the ocean has a subtle influence that translates to attitude in welcoming our guests. Morro Bay and the Central Coast is a beautiful place to live, there is a communal pride, an interaction that if you nod to a local you'll get a smile back. People are friendly, our environment is slower paced than LA or San Francisco. There's no freeway jams, no difficulty finding parking, appreciation of nature is pervasive . We are proud to have enhanced a beautiful Morro Bay Embarcadero property that was in need of remodeling. Keeping the natural appeal to the five buildings was integral to have a combination of authentic architecture with convenience and comfort wanted when enjoying a relaxing vacation. We sincerely welcome and look forward to your contact.

What makes this studio unique

The unique benefit to this home, and to the complex of Pacific Street Cottages, is the location. Walk down the street a half block and you're in the center of Morro Bay's scenic Embarcadero with fresh fish markets, restaurants, shops, wine tasting, kayak rentals, tours, all set among commercial fishing boats and the natural beauty of the bay and the 582 foot high Morro Bay Rock.

Something that is truly unique about this studio are the views. Inside, there are two windows, one in the living area, the other in the dining area, both view the harbor. But step outside and you have an outdoor table with full views of the Embarcadero, the harbor and the Rock. It's okay to have a glass of wine or whatever in this outdoor area. And by views, I mean VIEWS!

Notes:
Over 125 years ago when Morro Bay was first divided into lots this location was considered a prime spot. The view from the patio of the Embarcadero, Harbor and Rock is something that is limited anywhere, not just Morro Bay. This studio is one unit of a triplex from the 40's though we have remodeled it to today's standards. However, our guests must like older homes and tolerate a little beach funkiness, not bad funky, old school funky. And until November, know we are remodeling three residences so the grounds are not finished yet. The remodel work being done is not noisy, it's painters, things like that. There is no loud machinery. The loudest sounds on the property are of barking sea lions and squawking sea gulls! We need guests to be understanding of the remodel work and the grounds not being finished. We have discounted our rate due to the remodel and our appreciation for your understanding. This discounted rate will be grandfathered for our guests for 12 months after your stay.

Very cute studio cottage. Floor was dirty and Fridge needed minor cleaning. Overall good stay.

  • 4 of 5

We were in walking distance to everything. Morro Bay is very relaxing and beautiful. I had to follow up w owner for entry instructions prior to arriving because I never received anything from VRBO, which should have occurred sooner. The kitchen area needed sprucing up. I cleaned the floor and had to wipe out the fridge prior to putting our groceries in it. Had an unexpected wake up call from a blaring carbon monoxide detector at 6:45 am. Owner came over later in the day to replace it and apologized and comped us $50 for the inconvenience.

A Little Piece of "Heaven on Earth"

  • 5 of 5

Most enjoyable!

As a couple, this was our 8th trip to Morro Bay.

Our first stay in such close proximity. Nothing could compare to this trip.

We could hear the seals, carrying on conversations and an occasional splash into the water, from one being pushed off ! : 0 )

We could see the "Rock" from our seats in the kitchen area.

We would definitely return for our yearly trip (Maybe 2018, will hold 2 trips in one year?)

Our only suggestion would be, if possible, having replacement light bulbs within the rental.

We found ourselves, stealing from Peter to pay Paul ! : 0 (

Meaning, bulbs dimming in kitchen, taking bulb from bathroom to the have better lighting in kitchen, only to have living room bulbs also dim.

At that point, we just gave in to the fact, that out lighting would be compromised.

The broom came in handy, but would work better with a dust pan.

Eric & MonaLisa and of course, our traveling companion Little Chico Bakke : 0 )

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

A couple minor down falls like the bed and the was a couple dirty spatulas that we had to wash before using. But everything else was perfect. Quiet little cottage, right at Morro rock, close to everything, and very comfortable.

Loved this little cottage. It had a nice kitchen, bathroom and a designated parking place within the courtyard. Easy to unpack, no steps. Will be back!

A Morro Bay vacation is about relaxing and enjoying the beauty and activities of the Embarcadero. Pacific Street Cottages is minutes walking distance to kayak and canoe rentals, wine tasting, shopping, a micro brewery and Captain Stew's 45 Minute Bay Cruise, just $10, $5.00 for kids. There's a variety of restaurants serving fresh sea food, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, American. Cafes to sit along the bay front promenade. Everything can be walked to literally in minutes, just a half block away from Pacific Street Cottages!

Live music is at several locations along the Embarcadero. Otter Rock Cafe, walking minutes away, has something every night but Tuesday.

On Saturdays Farmers Market is a few blocks away. From fresh vegetables and fish to crafts, Farmers Market is a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.

With your full kitchen stocked with dishes, silverware and standard kitchen utensils you have the option to cook when you want and still enjoy the beauty around you.

Your residence parking is steps from your door. No street parking.

No driving home if you catch a Happy Hour at one of the many places, or enjoy some live music at night. You'll walk home in minutes.

This studio is quiet yet accessible to the center of the Morro Bay waterfront.

About one mile away is the Morro Bay Golf Couse, a scenic course with wide fairways and glorious views. It's County owned so rates are very reasonable.

A few blocks up is the Bay Theatre, $8.00 admission, and lots of shops, antique stores and restaurants. Easily walkable, but if you did drive there is free street parking and no traffic.

Morro Bay is what has become a rare remnant of the California coast; it's quaint with small businesses, no chain food restaurants and scenic beauty undisturbed by crowds.

We thank you for considering this studio, one of our 8 residences comprising Pacific Street Cottages. The group is in a horseshoe shape with parking in the center. Five of the eight residences are available and sleep a combined 24. There are two 2 bedroom homes, and two one bedrooms in addition to this studio.

If you call, we answer. No operator or menu selection.
