About Rob and Rosie
Having lived in central London for most of our adult lives, we couldn't wait to move here to the Peak District, which we have been enjoying for the best part of 40 years.
Rob and Rosie purchased this Barn in 2016
Why Rob and Rosie chose Macclesfield
We bought High Ridge in 2016, and for the past two years have provided just about every tradesman in the area with gainful employment renovating, modernising, improving and refurbishing High Ridge. Of all the properties we viewed, High Ridge stood out for its fabulous rural location and easy access to countryside walks, and the benefits of the local towns; we can pop in to Leek and bring back fish and chips still hot, and Ocado, Sainsburys and Morrisons all deliver here, as does the excellent award-winning Indian restaurant Pabna. It's a great place to live, and a great place for a week or a weekend.
What makes this Barn unique
After a bracing walk or cycle ride, what could be better than unwinding in a sauna? Located in your extensive private garden is a modern Scandi wooden sauna pod with authentic Harvia wood-burning heater and separate changing area. Just give us a couple of hours notice and we will prepare your sauna for you. We provide hammam towels, sauna slippers, sauna oils and water pail, sauna timer and an instruction sheet if required. There is even a shower pod next to the sauna for cooling off. The very large landscaped private garden includes a York stone terrace with wonderful country views to enjoy with your outdoor dining or BBQ (large Landmann BBQ and charcoal provided). There is seating for 8 at our bespoke garden table with parasol and benches. As dog owners ourselves we recognise that a dog-friendly holiday needs to be properly dog-friendly. We have converted one of the stables into a dog grooming parlour equipped with a professional walk-in electric-lift dog bath, heated shower, grooming table with pet hairdryer and grooming items including brush, comb and shampoo. Inside the barn you will find dog beds (small, medium and large), dog food and water bowls, throws for the furniture, spare collars and leads with High Ridge Barn ID tags and a pet first aid kit.
No outdoor music after 10pm please.
You are welcome to smoke outdoors on the terrace.
One or two dogs welcome.
Max guests:8 (sleeps up to 8 adults)
Dogs on leads or under close control please; we are in a livestock farming area.
No outside footwear indoors please. Slippers for all guests are provided. We also have a full boot room for muddy footwear including boot driers.
Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to accommodate hired hot tubs at High Ridge Barn.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
We had a lovely weekend at this gorgeous property. Rob and Rosie have thought of everything and are very accommodating. The property is decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard which helped make our stay perfect. The location is brilliant and there are some lovely walks right on the door step. The doggy barn was a huge bonus and the house was also very dog friendly. We had a fabulous time and would reccomend!

Stunning barn conversion
We had a lovely stay at High Ridge. The barn has been converted to a very high standard and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Scenery and views are amazing, There are lots of walks close by some straight from the property. I definitely recommend this property, the photos don't do it justice.

Family break at High Ridge Barn
Our family gathered for a 'big' birthday celebration at beautiful High Ridge Barn. The barn and grounds were fantastic. Everything done to such a high specification with no expense spared. Rob and Rosie were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. 3 year old Jack loved feeding the chickens and playing in the garden with all the outdoor games provided. Marley the dog enjoyed a wash and blowdry in the pet parlour. The adults in the party loved relaxing in the sauna after a busy day. All the furnishings and bed linens were of the highest quality and the kitchen provided more gadgets than we could imagine.
It was lovely to arrive to a fresh loaf of home made bread. cake and local brewery beer, as well as milk, tea etc. We highly recommend High Ridge Barn and thank Rob and Rosie for providing such a super property.
Thanks for your kind comments and we're very pleased you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back to High Ridge.
Pristine and well thought out barn
Beautiful Barn conversion set in picturesque and peaceful surroundings. The owners have thought of everything, from a dog grooming shed, slippers and dressing gowns, a lovely welcome package on arrival, and even offered to receive and put away our online shopping. Would highly recommend and will hopefully return again.
The renowned artisan brewery "The Wincle Beer Company" (http://www.winclebeer.co.uk) is a walk away and has a fine selection of craft beers to enjoy in their beer garden, or to take away. While you're there, why not try to catch your supper at the Danebridge Fisheries Fly Fishing lake.
There are plenty of country walks from the doorstep including the beautiful Dane Valley Way, The Roaches, Lud's Church, Three Shire's Head and Pannier Pool, and Hanging Stone. Within easy driving distance of Kinder Scout, Winnats Pass, Mam Tor, Cave Dale, Edale, Hathersage, Rudyard Lake (with its charming miniature steam railway), Tittesworth reservoir, the Hope Valley and many others.
For a day out with the kids (or for the young-at-heart) there is Go Ape in Buxton, water-sports and activity centre at Tittesworth reservoir, horse trekking at Tissington Leisure Centre.
Alton Towers is just a 40-minute drive away!
