Lovely weekend in Polperro.
Lovely cottage with stunning views down to the village and harbour. Laity Cottage had everything you could need. We really enjoyed our break in Polperro. great location with lovely views over the village to the sea. Only a short, but steep walk down to the village which is delightful and, importantly, has a couple of great pubs. Another steep walk up to the car park. Our doggy loved it with a great walk through the woods above to the cliff-top walk which meanders for miles. Highly recommended for fit couples with or without a doggy.
Great little ‘hidey hole’
The apartment is partly below ground level, but well equipped with plenty of room for a couple. Close to everything in Polperro

The location, near the center of the village, was excellent with all of the local amenities located within a few minutes walk. We were confused regarding the key safe instructions but managed to figure out that you only needed the combination lock as the safe was no longer in use. The inventory folder was very precise, but only having one wine glass and three pint glasses was a bit limiting. Only two mugs were provided so occasionally, we resorted to use the decorative mugs on the window sill We also had the impression that the immersion heater should be left on all of the time during our stay , the hot water tank is very small and struggled to cope with filling the bath if the shower had just been used. The top of the insulation appears to be missing from the tank. There is a leak from the bottom of the bath next to the tank whenever a shower or bath is taken. When we mopped it up we found that the bathroom floor had only been swept rather than washed. The TV wasn't tuned and didn't have a connecting cable to the DVD player. We had to be creative to organise the lighting in the bed room so that both of us could use the bedside lamps. Tea towels were provided but we had to buy dishcloths. We had to clear away a few cobwebs in the bedroom corners before we settled in. Our stay was in the first half of May and was a little cool, this meant we had to run the two storage heaters at full to warm the place up in the evenings and mornings. The bedroom was fine, although we couldn't really close the door , but the living area remained on the cool side throughout our stay. However, overall, we enjoyed our stay and, with a few tweaks, the accommodation proved just right, even with the hike up the hill to the carpark.
Many thanks for your feedback which is very constructive and useful. We will ensure that extra glasses and mugs are purchased and a DVD cable and also investigate the leak. We will also share your feedback with the cleaners to ensure things are missed going forward. Thank you again and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
Laity is situated a stones throw from the harbour in the heart of Polperro village.
The town of Looe is just a short 15 minute drive away with its numerous cafes, shops, restaurants and pubs. The beach at Talland is a 5 minutes drive or can be reached on foot via the coastal path. Also there is tennis, bowls, putting all in Looe, golf - at Looe Golf Club (15 minute drive), riding and National Trust houses and gardens all available nearby. The coastal path leads out of Looe both to the East and the West and has the most spectacular views. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about a 35 minute drive away as is the city of Plymouth. For the more adventurous, Adrenalin Quarry is just a 15 minute drive away and there are great cycle trails at both Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock (bike hire available at each). The North Coast beaches are an hour in the car so easy to explore both coasts of Cornwall from here.
