Beautifully furnished 8 bedroom apartment ideal for families or friends

A fully equipped modern but cosy apartment which is just a stones throw from the ski lift providing access to the vast Gstaad ski resort.

Apartment has 2 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and one room with 4 single beds. It is very tastefully furnished and is cosy despite being modern. There is a large dining and lounge area with beautiful bay window views of the village. The apartment is very spacious and a perfect place to put your feet up after a day's skiing and fresh air. It is fully equipped with all the mod cons including dishwasher, washing machine, flat screen TV and even a lift up to the flat.

The local shops, train station and restaurants are on the doorstep and it couldn't be easier to shop, travel and ski from the apartment.

The apartment is walking distance from the Gstaad mountain ranges for skiing.

There are plenty of traditional Swiss restaurants in the village.

Zweisimmen station is a 5 minute walk away with connections to Geneva, Basel, Bern and Zurich.

In the summer there is plenty of Alpine walking on your doorstep and for the more adventurous there is white-water rafting.

Gstaad and it's bars and best of all the Gstaad Palace are a short drive away if you want a more fancy evening out.

Hotel Wildhorn is 30 minute drive away if you fancy fondu/raclette in a traditional Swiss atmosphere (including yodelling) - Friday night is particularly recommended.

Beyond our wildest expectations

We spent a week in Haus am Bach over New Years. This was our first time to Switzerland and, for many of us, our first time skiing/snowboarding. The accommodation could not have been better!

We arrived in Zweisimmen (a quainter and more humbling location than some of the neighbouring towns) by train and found the apartment an easy 2 minute walk from the station. The apartment was done to an exceptionally high standard throughout. Each bedroom was comfortable and well presented, the bathrooms and kitchen were modern and clean, and the lounge was fantastic for entertaining our whole party with space to spare.

Whilst the apartment is wonderful, the true advantage of Haus am Bach was its location. Close to shops, supermarkets, ski lifts, trains, buses, restaurants, the local butcher and baker, and the ski school and ski hire.

My recommendation: Switzerland is typically expensive compared to neighbouring countries. Haus am Bach is so ideally located and pleasant that you can very easily eat in every night, save some money, and have a lot of fun! We did everything from fondue (thanks to the fondue set provided in the apartment), schnitzel from the local butcher, goulash with ingredients from the supermarkets, to antipasto lunches from our foraging around town.

Do yourself a favour and stay here! It's well worth it!

A fantastic location!

We are a Dutch family with 3 teenage daughters. We stayed a week in Zweisimmen in 'Haus am Bach'. We came for a week skiing.

Are you searching for a very nice location near by the cable car station of the Rinderberg? You found it!

'Haus am Bach' is a fantastic apartment. It is a new, clean, beautiful place to be.

The 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are large and comfortable. There are many towels and duvets.

In the large kitchen you can cooke all kind of things: its easy because everything you need is there!

We were with 5 persons but you can stay there with 8 persons easily, 4 adults and 4 children.

Because the house is in the middle of the town you can easily reach all the shops, so it's easy to get all the things for drinking and eating.

We had fresh bread every morning in a few minutes.

In the basement you can put the things you don't need during your stay or your skies/snowboards.

The lift is working fast but there is a easy stairway to.

We would recommend this apartment to friends who are going skiing in Zweisimmen.

Because you don't waste time for traveling to the cable car station of the Rinderberg, you've got a lot of time for skiing! For lunch you can easy come 'home'.

You can park your car behind the house. We didn't use our car the whole week.

The station is also very near so you can go by train wherever you like.

Next year in februari we hope to be in 'Haus am Bach' again!

Memorable week in Zweisimmen in Haus am Bach

Beautiful new apartment where I stayed with my wife , daughter and 2 grandchildren.

The facilities were so good we only went out to a restaurant once - as we dined in and bought supplies from the Migros supermarket literally just across the road.

The apartment is situated within very easy walking distance to the Rinderberg Cabin Lift (ie 3 minutes) which links to Saanenmoser and Schonreid.

Would very much recommend to others and have already reserved same week next year.

On top of all of that the snow ; skiing and weather were perfect.

Traditional Swiss village in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Surrounded by beautiful vistas and miles of skiing in one of the most picturesque resorts in the Alps. In the winter the region has skiing for all abilities from family friendly slopes to great off-piste rides.

The Gstaad ski area is full of traditional mountain restaurants and throughout the season there are snow park events, ski cross and night skiing for the more adventurous. Although the area is not renowned for its apres - ski there are a few traditional bars dotted around the ski slopes with the highlight being a winter igloo serving gluhwein at the top of Sannenmoser.

The prestigious resort of Gstaad is a ski journey away or train ride or 15 minute car journey. A cocktail in the Gstaad Palace is a real treat of an evening.

In the summer Zweisimmen and the surrounding areas are perfect for walkers and hikers with routes of varying degrees of challenge within easy reach. Many can be combined with charming train journeys, either outwards or return or both.

There is an equally extensive range of cycling options with dedicated cycle tracks created specifically for recreational cycling, including many challenging mountain bike trails. A very popular activity is to use the extensive lift system to gain height and then enjoy an exhilarating downhill ride to the valley.

There are also plenty of lakes in the area for summer swimming after a long hike.

The world famous Montreux Jazz Festival in July is only a 1.5 hour car journey away from the Chalet.
