There is also a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and electric imitation woodburner. Situated next to the cricket ground in an ideal spot for strolling into the town centre, Friars Retreat is a beautiful, homely place to return to each day that goes by.

Resting in the Stour Valley in an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, the surrounding countryside of Sudbury is what inspired most of his paintings. Stroll along the River Stour or meander through The Croft and take the kids to feed the ducks. Only fifteen miles away is Colchester where you will discover Colchester Castle, Hollytrees Museum and Colchester Zoo. Sudbury is also not too far from the coast so why not take a day trip and explore the 350 miles of shoreline in Essex.
