About Kelly Moe
My husband Josh and I share this lake house together with his uncle Ron and aunt Mel. Together we decided to buy a place for our two families to get away to fish and relax. Over the years we have had many family gatherings including 4th of July, Memorial day and even New Years celebrations at this house. We have loved spending so many good times fishing, tubing and just kicking back at this fabulous lake home. Right now we all have limited time to spend at the lake so we decided to put our lake home on VRBO to share some of the fun that can be had on Serpent Lake.
Kelly Moe purchased this House in 2007
Why Kelly Moe chose Crosby
Our home is older but cute like a cottage, the wood floors are original but in nice condition. The kitchen is original but the appliances have been replaced (no dishwasher). The lot is larger and somewhat shaded from large trees which keeps the house cooler in the summer. There are large windows and sliding door that face the lake along with a big deck. This home is set back just a bit from the lake, it makes it so relaxing and tranquil. There are so many things to do here if you want to get away from the lake you can antique in Crosby, Golf at Rutgers at Bay lake, ride bike on the fabulous Cuyuna trails, there is cute little bowling alley in Crosby and a fabulous park just across the lake in Crosby. There is a Brewery in town and some new restaurants.

Modisco on the Lake has it all!
What a surprise this cabin & location were! Kelly is a great host. Responsive, friendly, helpful, and had a very helpful instruction binder available for us to reference.
The cabin is quaint from the outside and almost impossibly large on the inside. The bedrooms are huge and the arrangement of beds worked perfectly for 6 adults and 4 kids. The living space was super comfortable and the patio door and windows facing the lake provided a great view of the lawn and lakeside.
The huge front and back yard space ensured ample parking and easy arrangement of lawn games and pop up screen porch (we brought our own) for bug-free lakeside lunch.
The deck off the back of the cabin was perfect for those of us who wanted to eat or lounge outdoors. The grill came in handy for burgers, brats and dogs.
The lakeside fire pit went perfectly with the still as glass lake in the evenings. The sandy area next to the fire pit gave a beachy feel to the lakeside. Again, there was ample seating at the fire pit and beach area for our group of ten.
The dock was stable, clean, and provided great sunrise/sunset views.
The lake itself was just the right size, crystal clear, and had plenty of fish.
The Cuyuna lakes area provided great mountain biking trails, with reasonable bike rentals at the Red Raven in Crosby. The ice cream at Victual in Crosby was unique and tasty.
Overall, our family had a phenomenal week at Kelly’s cabin and we loved the lake and the local area. Highly recommend this rental!
great get togrther

Perfect Summer Get Away!
We all enjoyed our stay! Great space for my 6 family members (adult children and their significant others). Large enough gathering spaces to be together and apart. Loved the clean lake and closeness to town. We will definitely recommend to others and return. Thank you Kelly for sharing your beautiful lake place!
Family friendly lakeside property
We spent a week here with 3 generations of family and had a great time! We ate all our meals on the huge deck as well as had s'mores on the deck fire place as well as the fire pit out by the water. The lawn is nice and flat for outdoor games and there is a clothes line for hanging towels and suits. The dock is well built and has 2 benches for sitting as well. The lake is pretty shallow and weedy by the dock, but the water is very clear. We were able to water ski by just walking out a little from the dock.
The house is small and yet roomy. The kitchen is a little hard to work in, but manageable. Not much room for grocery storage and drawers worked hard. Oven door didn't stay closed, but owner was ready to fix after it was reported. The dining table was small (even with the extra leaf) for a crowd, but we just ate outside at the two deck tables. The living room is the best and is roomier than the pictures. It was nice to be able to sit and look at the lake on the couch and watch activities going on there.
The bedrooms were roomy and all the beds extremely comfortable. Each had a fan to move air since there is not air conditioning. Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. There is also a hall closet filled with towels and linens. Upstairs, there were 2 large bedrooms - one with a queen bed and lots of space and the other with a king bed, a queen futon (comfortable!) and a pull out twin (not comfortable). The bathroom upstairs is between the 2 bedrooms with pocket doors and has a toilet and nice shower and a tiny sink that's hard to use. We tended to use the basement bathroom for more privacy which worked well.
The basement has a bathroom with shower, washing machine and 2 dryers as well as an additional refridgerater for storage.
The road out front is fairly quiet, so nice for walks and deer spotting.
Overall a nice, family friendly lake property with an easy to work with owner.
We will return!!
Great place for a family!
Great outdoor space
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The outdoor space is amazing, really large deck with plenty of seating right off the back overlooking the lake. Nice flat yard space, and great little beach area for the kids to play at. Water is clean and shallow, really nice for the kids. The cabin was nice and clean with plenty of sleeping areas. The stairs were a little steep with kids but overall a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!
