Luxurious 4 BR/4 BA Luxury Villa With Private Pool And Large Garden

Sans Souci means Care Free. That is the vacation we offer our guests We are only 100 yards from beautiful Playa Las Ballenas, which is highly unusual for a private villa with its own pool & security. During our first year operating this brand new villa, we were recognized by VRBO as one of the very best vacation rentals in Las Terrenas! Still, our rates are less than what you will pay for older, less attractive properties. Sans Souci is as beautiful & well equipped than anything you can find in Las Terrenas, at any price. This villa also has a remarkable floor plan that makes it just as cozy for two as it is comfortable for eight.

From the custom-designed italian kitchen to the coraline tile baths, oversized terrace and private pool in a large (500sm, 5,500sf) landscaped & walled garden, no detail has been overlooked. The main house contains three bedrooms, each with private en-suite baths that have rain shower heads and hand-held shower wands. There is a separate bungalow that contains the fourth bedroom, also with a private bath. Three of the bedrooms are at ground level and two of them have private terraces opening to the pool.

Our setting is perfect. We are a short 7 minute stroll from the Pueblo de los Pescadores, its restaurants and all the fun of downtown Las Terrenas. That is just far enough, though, not to be bothered by the nightlife when you want to sleep!

Turning away from downtown, you stroll down the best stretch of beach that this charmed area has to offer. There are literally a dozen beach clubs where you can soak up the sun, all within 10 - 15 minutes stroll along the gently lapping waters of Playa las Ballenas.

All bedrooms have air-conditioning and multiple large, screened windows for comfortable sleeping without AC. There are ceiling fans throughout the residence and on all terraces. All electrical outlets are doubled, providing both 110v & 220v power as needed by our guests. The solid concrete construction, covered by thatch "Cana" has been shown to reduce indoor temperatures by 4 degrees Celsius (almost 9 degrees F), making the interior cool and comfortable even on hot afternoons.

Sans Souci in LT is so much more than just a "vacation rental." It is managed by the best operator of luxury properties in town. Their multilingual staff are at your disposal to ensure that you can easily experience all that Las Terrenas has to offer, while enjoying a level of privacy and luxury that typically commands a much higher price. Sans Staying at Sans Souci is an experience par excellence!

Our managers provide daily maid service and will gladly help you organize your excursions to the many stunning sites and activities that Las Terrenas area has to offer. We have engaged them because we want our guests to have the very best experience they can possibly have. The level of service is at least equal to, and in many cases better than you will receive from any of the large, impersonal "condo-tel" complexes charging almost twice the price.

For example, for a modest additional fee, you can have the maid stay longer and cook a traditional Dominican lunch for your group. Our manager can even arrange for a multilingual private chef to come to Sans Souci and prepare a very special gourmet meal, served to you and your guests right on your own terrace!

Our managers will provide as much (or as little) assistance as you would like to have. Their friendly staff are there to ensure that your vacation is as complete, relaxing and rewarding as it can possibly be.

If you are familiar with Las Terrenas, you are aware of how disruptive the traffic noise along the front row of the beach can be, especially when you are trying to sleep. Sans Souci is ideally located just 100 meters back from the beach road and nestled into the midst of high-end residential developments to ensure that you will have a peaceful night's sleep. There are no roads, no discos nor any other noise makers around our property. The entrance to the neighborhood is gaited, with an intercom for visitors to call to request access, AND our individual property is walled with a locking gate. Additionally, there is a night guard on duty from 7 pm to 7 am. The neighborhood is safe, secure & quiet.

Electricity charges are always a big deal in Las Terrenas. Virtually all other villas and almost all condos in town are rented completely net of electricity. At Sans Souci, we provide a credit of $5/day to cover your basic electricity usage. This will be more than adequate as long as you turn off lights and fans when leaving a room unoccupied. If you choose to use the air conditioning, your cost will run about $10 per day per AC unit. In any case, you will only pay for the power you use that is in excess of our $5/day credit.

Finally, and most importantly, we are ideally situated along the very best beach in Las Terrenas, just a short walk from literally scores of excellent restaurants and the town's best dancing spots. Likewise, there are a dozen great little beach clubs where you can while away the day within 5-15 minutes walk in the other direction. We're as convenient as it gets, no matter what you want to do!

Where else can you get your own 4 BR luxury home, complete with a walled, landscaped garden, private pool and daily maid service for MUCH less than you'd pay to stay crammed into a 3 BR condo?!

We've lived, worked and traveled around the world, picking up many ideas that we have incorporated into three very special vacation homes - one each in Germany, Dominican Republic & the US. Each one is more than just a place to stay. Each comes with a level of service and interior finishes that are highly unusual in "vacation rentals". We travel a lot - especially to other countries. We know how that can be both stimulating & tiring. We recognize the importance of little details that help us feel at home after a tough day operating in another language. Our homes are more than just places to stay. They are refuges that will help you relax, regroup and re-energize. They are places that we love to visit & to live. We purchased this home while it was still under construction. That allowed us to make many upgrades to the standard vacation rental to make it as comfortable and functional as our primary residence. That is because we often find that vacation rentals are poor replicas of private residences. This home has been outfitted to the highest standard of a "private residence" - a place we would gladly choose to live, should we decide to. If you are tired of paying exorbitant prices for places that it seems the owners never stay in, then come to Sans Souci! We have designed this to offer exceptional comfort for a vacation home.

Let's face it, no one wants to go on vacation and stay in a place that is not as nice as where they live. We have taken the opportunity to turn this truly into a well-functioning home. This is a place that you will be proud to invite your newly made friends over for dinner or drinks. And, you will be able to make any dinner or drink that you may want, because we've thought of everything you might need and provided it for your benefit.

What makes this villa unique

This new home sports many upgrades not typically found in vacation rentals. Foremost is the level of personal service we offer, which includes daily maid service, the opportunity to retain the maid to cook a traditional Dominican meal for your lunch or even to hire a private multi-lingual chef to prepare a custom dinner for you, served on your terrace. Other "concierge services" include arranging any excursion or tour you may desire, from whale watching, horseback riding or beach hopping to deep sea fishing. On a physical level, the Italian kitchen has extensive granite counters, complete with a breakfast bar. The terrace is fully 25% larger than any other home in the neighborhood. The bungalow has its own terrace. The private pool offers seating for guests to relax and chat. The large garden provides ample space for children to play or for adults to dry their surf kites. We even have two high-end aluminum beach bikes available for rent at a nominal cost. Our prices are no higher than you would pay for a two bedroom condo, but they buy you so much more!

Great proximity to the beach and town. Very private. Truly felt like a local. Samuel and Vanessa were very responsive all throughout the process, and Samuel did a terrific job welcoming us and highlighting all of the “must sees and must do’s “ throughout the region. Would definitely return to Las Terrenas and Villa #4!

Loved This Place

What a great property! I thought this house was in the perfect location. It was a short walk to the beach but away from the noise. It was reasonably windy down by the beach during our stay so it was really nice to relax in the yard of the house where there was no wind. We spent a lot of time eating, drinking and chatting under the thatched roof on the front of the house and we also floated around the pool.

It was a quick walk to many good restaurants such as Thalassa, La Ola, Casa Delphin and Baracoanda. There was a $10 yoga class at tha Alisei Hotel nearby. The restaurants at Los Pescadores are a 10 minute walk away and there are quite a few choices there including a beach bar called One Love that is owned by fellow Canadians. There is also a more sheltered beach around the corner to the left near El Eden beach restaurant that is good for swimming and protected from the winds off the ocean.

We bought groceries and cooked our own breakfasts and we found the kitchen to be very well equipped. We would also highly recommend paying extra to have Estrella (that comes by to tidy up every morning) stay and prepare lunch. She cooked us a fabulous meal for 8 people twice and she did an amazing job. The food was very tasty and the presentation was over and above.

The house is nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. We found that the fans in the bedrooms kept the house cool at night and we didn’t need to use the air conditioning. It was also very handy to have access to a washing machine.

Vanessa and Samuel at Home Gestion (the property managers) were very helpful and they gave us lots of information at the check in.

I definitely plan to rent this vacation house again.

We had a great vacation in villa Clarissa, Samuel was very receptive and always answered our requirements. We recommend the house, playa las ballenas was the best beach especially if you have kids.

Quiet and comfortable with geat light and good breeze. Very nice design!

The owners were great at communicating and provided plenty of info beforehand. The property lived up to the pictures and description! A very short walk to the beach and then you can walk anywhere you'd like to go. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking big family meals and there was plenty of room for everyone. Great showers! We enjoyed the pool and the hammocks immensely! Can't wait to go again!

Though 5 beaches claim to be in Las Terrenas, only two are actually within walking distance of the town center, Fisherman's Village and restaurants. Playa Las Ballenas is by far the better of the two, being much quieter, having less traffic and offering a much larger beach. Our location is as ideal as one can find, being equidistant from the main part of town and the very best beach clubs (less than 10 minutes' walk in either direction).

Sans Souci is located along the beautiful, serene Playa Las Ballenas. We are within walking distance (less than 10-15 min) of 13 of TripAdvisor's Top 20 restaurants in LT, one of which is right at the end of the block. There are Yoga classes at Alisei, right next door. The famous Fisherman's Village is 7 minutes' walk away. There are boat charters at the end of the block for excursions to the many beaches along the north coast as well as for deep sea fishing and diving.

The other beach, Playa Popy, doubles as the main highway to Samana which results in it being quite noisy & congested. The beach there is also quite narrow due to heavy erosion. (It's not everyone's dream to sit in a lounge chair by the beach with noisy traffic 10 feet behind them.)

If you are familiar with Las Terrenas, you are also aware of how disruptive the traffic noise along the front row of the beach can be, especially when you are trying to sleep. Where else can you get your own luxury home, complete with a walled, landscaped garden, private pool and daily maid service for almost half of what you'd pay to stay in a condo complex?!

You will not need a car when staying at Sans Souci. Literally, 13 of TripAdvisor's Top 20 restaurants in Las Terrenas are within 10-15 minutes easy stroll from our property. In fact, just about everything is within walking distance. Of course you can hop in a taxi if you prefer not to walk. There are always taxis waiting just at the end of the block, 100 meters from the villa. We also have two bicycles available for rent at a nominal charge if you would like to explore more of the area at your leisure.

Hot Tip on getting to Las Terrenas: If you are flying into SDQ, consider renting a car from Avis one-way to LT. You can do that for less than $100, which is much cheaper than a taxi. That way you have the car for 24 hours to get your shopping done & can turn it in next to the Super Pola. You can then rent the car again, one-way back to the airport at the end of your stay, or you can take a very comfortable air-conditioned public bus for $7 per person.

To keep our rental rates as low as possible, please note that rates INCLUDE ONLY $5/DAY OF ELECTRICITY USAGE, as consumption can vary dramatically based upon guests' use of AC. Guests will be responsible for paying any extra utility charges. In LT, it is highly unusual for owners to include ANY electricity in their rentals; virtually everyone rents their property NET of electricity. To provide a care-free vacation experience, we cover basic electricity usage, assuming guests turn off lights and fans when they are not occupying a room. If you choose to use Air Conditioning (or leave lights & fans on) your consumption will be higher and you will be responsible for the difference. The meter will be read upon your arrival and again upon your departure to determine power consumption. Excess electricity consumption will be charged at the current rate in effect (approximately $.40/kWh, as of Jan, 2018).
Pet fees are per day, per pet. Guests may bring no more than 2 dogs, and each one must weigh less than 10 kg/22 pounds. Guests are responsible for any damage to home or garden resulting from the presence of their pets and must clean up after them. Pet fees are per dog per week.
