Recently refurbished this 17th century miners cottage has two single bedrooms ,large double bedroom ,shower room and bathroom with shower. It has a kitchen diner and very comfortable lounge with wood burning stove.
The “Hidden Gem “ of Briar Mede is the secret walled garden . This is a beautiful private setting for alfresco dining or simply relaxing enjoying spectacular views of surrounding countryside. It’s also enchanting for bird watchers and stargazers.
One behaved dog is welcome but strictly not upstairs or on furniture..Thankyou

There is safe parking nearby and the outbuilding can store bicycles safely.

Master Bedroom
Large room with super king bed and has lovely views of Gunnerside and hills beyond
Single room . This bedroom at the front of cottage has views of village and surrounding countryside.
Second single room. This is a small cosy room with velux window in the roof making it bright and cheery. It has limited headroom space over bed but has great views of surrounding farmland.
Upstairs Bathroom . This has electric shower,hand basin ,toilet and bath.
Downstairs Shower Room , This has walk in shower cubicle,hand basin and toilet. A washing machine is neatly enclosed in a corner cabinet.
There is a small terrace garden outside front door to sit with a cuppa and enjoy the views.
Kitchen Diner . A bright and airy kitchen with dishwasher ,fridge,electric cooker,and all modern equipment including coffee machine.
Lounge . A comfortable lounge with two sofas,drop leaf dining table and chairs,TV and wood burning stove set in stone fireplace. There is quest information,maps and selection of games and
Out Building. This is adjacent to cottage. As well as access to hidden garden this has ample space for storage of bicycles fishing equipment etc.

Gunnerside is the ideal location for both recreation and relaxation and to discover Upper Swaledale,the most Northerly Dale in the National Park.

Kings Head pub in the village is a two minute walk away from cottage .
Ghyllfoot Tearooms & Bistro is open Weds to Sunday 10am -5pm during the summer months
Ramsey’s Fish & Chip van arrives in village opposite the pub on Friday evenings and highly recommended.
The Punch Bowl in Low Row and Farmers Arms in Muker are both a 5 minute drive away and serve excellent food …
Starting from Briar Mede ‘s front door there a variety of spectacular walks . Many will lead you to our neighbouring historic villages with great places to explore .
Castle Bolton and Richmond Castle are impressive with fascinating histories .A walk by Aysgarth falls is not to be missed.
