Park La Truffière is a 3500 square meter property which 100 years ago had been part of a one hectare truffle farm. The house and the land have been renovated, restored and redesigned.

In the park itself many of the 100 year old trees have been cut down or trimmed to open up sunny spaces for the wonderful 11X 4 salt water swimming pool, the deep blue Provencal skies, the gardens, sitting and dining areas. On the other hand many trees have been retained for beauty and shade which is vitally necessary in the hot summer months.

This is a holiday in a park where you can swim, eat, read, relax and be with your family and friends in complete privacy and comfort. Ideal for families and reunions of families and friends.

The property sits in a neighborhood which is 10 minute walking distance from the lovely village where one will find five restaurants and pizzerias, cafes, three bakeries, news stand, Nougaterie and ice cream shop, pharmacy, coiffure and whatever one would need. So one can literally walk every morning to the village for croissants and bread, have a coffee, pick up the newspaper and walk back to the property for breakfast.

The house has been restored in warm Provencal colors and materials; 35 m2 living room with large open fireplace, 22m2 meter bathroom with oversized granite bathtub/ sink and walk in Italian shower, separate shower and half bathroom, 26m2 kitchen with cut stone counter tops with a small covered porch.

There are 4 bedrooms (5 bedrooms if you include the cottage with its own kitchen and bathroom), 2 in the front of the house with French doors which open to the large veranda and the park to the front side of the house. All bedrooms have double beds. There is a children bed available.

By bike, car or foot, one can visit the most beautiful villages the south of France can offer; Gordes, Venasque, Isle sur Sorgue, Avignon, Roussillon. What is the most unique thing about this area is that there is water unlike the rest of the south. This is the bread basket of France with cherry, fig, olive, melon and berries plentiful.

The ocean to Marseille or Cassis is an 1 hr drive; Avignon is a half hour drive. Bike ways (bikes can be rented), for the beginner or the most advanced all the way to the Mt Ventoux and everything in between, walkways though the vineyards and many medieval villages all nearby. Whatever your heart desires, it is here.

About Owner

Dominic and Susanna Fischer are both artist educators who live in the northeastern corner of Switzerland near to the Lake of Konstanz, near to the borders of Austria and Germany. Susanna is Swiss and Dominic is American. Both work in the field of music and theater, writing ,directing and producing projects of all kinds including crossover concerts for all ages as well as seminars and workshops. Both have a keen aesthetic sense which they have brought into the restoration of this house and property and this is what makes it so particular and unique. Both have traveled all over the world( 27 countries) with their respective art and thus have learned not only different languages but also different cultures and perspectives which they bring also in communicating with their guests from many different lands.

Why Owner chose Saint-Didier

Dominic and Susanna had built a house in the Luberon near to Apt and the Colorado about 20 years ago. So they know this region extremely well and intimately. Five years ago they desired to have a larger property so they could have many more plants, flowers and trees as well as a larger swimming pool for swimming and more land and a larger house which they could restore and recreate every detail. Then in 2008, they found this wonderful property in St Didier and began restoring firstly the house and then the land which was nearly a half hectare of what was once a truffle farm with over 300 oak trees.

The location is ideal being 800 meters from a beautiful lively village which has everything one would need plus being situated near to the Mount Ventoux, the Sorgue river and many marvelous Provencal villages (Isle sur la Sorgue, Baumes de Venise, Fontaines de Vaucluse) and cities like Avignon. In the last 4 years Dominic and Susanna have worked to realize their vision for this house. Since 2012 a separate apartment for 2 persons is available as well.

What makes this villa unique

We have a separate 45 m2 cottage, fully equipped with private entrance, large private garden, grill, parking place, walk in shower, kitchen, sitting place, kitchen table, and bedroom. This can accommodate 2 persons and 1 child and can be together with the house or separate. Inquire if interested.

what a great place for a family reunion. We had a very large house, 3500 sq. meters land, so different couples could be together or separately with lovely sitting places. Large saltwater pool, kept very clean and fresh by local workers. The owners were wonderful and always there for our needs. We will surely go back again.

Authentic Getaway Retreat

We are an American family of 6 (2A and 4C). After winding down a long road, you come to Dominic & Susanna's lovely oasis. The grounds were blooming with flowers and multiple seating areas. Although we didn’t cook, everything we needed was available. There was lots of space for everyone to spread out in the house. Our children enjoyed the pool and there was space for the kids to play and adults to relax with friends and enjoy our treats from the market (wine, cheese, olives and sausages). What we found most valuable were the helpful suggestions from Dominic & Susanna. As it was our first time visiting Provence, they provided, in advance, lovely restaurant recommendations as well as nearby towns to visit that gave us a great introduction to the area. We hope to return soon.

We love this regiosn very much so we love to share all we know about it including villages, restaurants, art galleries, wineries and whatever the guests desire to kow and see. We think communicfation before during and after is of utmost importance so we try to inform, educate and advise all that we can to make our guests stay the very best it can be. It is always a joy for us to knwo our guests enjoyed teh provence as much as we have for 22 years now as we know this region like the backs of our hands. Maison très jolie, parfaitement adaptée pour une grande famille ou plusieurs couples d'amis. L'aménagement extérieur permet à chacun de disposer d'un endroit pour s'isoler ou travailler. Très belle tonnelle parfaite pour déjeuner et diner. La piscine est parfaitement adaptée. Tout est disponible pour cuisiner et passer un très agréable moment. Le village est animé et tout est sur place ( épicerie, boulangerie, boucherie, beau marché). L'emplacement est parfait pour rayonner. Les propriétaires sont toujours disponibles pour régler les questions à distance. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour. Merci

Beautiful luxurious summer residence

We have spent our holiday in Susanna and Dominic’s lovely house in St. Didier. We were my wife and I, my oldest daughter and my youngest daughter with her husband his daughter and their 2 dogs. The house has enough space for all of us and the lovely big garden where the dogs loved to play. We enjoyed very much the lovely salt water pool which is much nicer than the usual pools.

The house is very nice equipped with all kinds of modern facilities and especial the kitchen is very well equipped.

During our stay Susanna and Dominic stay in the small cottages in the front of the house. They were very helpful and very discreet and because of the very big garden and land it was no problem at all.

We can strongly recommend Susanna and Dominic’s house if you want to have a nice stay in one of the most beautiful parts of France. Our key word is: nice, calm and exclusive.

VAUCLUSE, LA BELLE PROVENCE IN SOUTH OF FRANCE, with 300 sunny days per year; Provence is an all-year round destination.

The Vaucluse is bordered by the River Rhône to the west and the River Durance to the south.
