About this property

Close to Downtown & Arts District —Sept/Oct Monthly Specials

We love our home - and hope you will as well. Features: 4 distinct outdoor spaces where you can enjoy spectacular mountain views, sunbathing, or just watching the world go by. We restored it with an eye to keeping the wonderful original detail - beautiful pine floors, original woodwork - yet making it comfy and what others have described as soulful. We hope you will love the attention to detail, unique, beautiful, yet comfortable furnishings combined with color, touches and the intangibles that will make you feel at home. What else? We love music, and have a baby grand piano to share, a fully functional kitchen, a fenced in "double-lot" that wraps around the house, with a beautiful oak tree that is a work of art and playground for the squirrels along with a gated parking area. Our master bedroom suite opens to an upper deck that has magnificent views of the city lights and the mountains in the distance; our second bedroom has an enclosed deck with a hammock and a view of the city, and a third room has a fully furnished office with a convertible couch. And, of course, we offer cable and wifi. Our location is exceedingly convenient, 20 minutes from the airport, and several minutes to downtown and River Arts, where you find Asheville's top restaurants, pubs, music, and theatre. Our proximity to these parts of town, combined with the character of our home, make it a unique place to stay and see this part of the world. And you may be happy to know that all rental income from your stay is being donated to CCLD, Center for Conscious Living and Dying, an inspiring local group as visioned by Dr Aditi Sethi.

Fantastic Getaway
This lovely home was an amazing getaway for my husband and I for our wedding anniversary. First, it is in a multi-cultural neighborhood with easy access to downtown and all the things we wanted to do and see in Asheville. The home itself was very comfortable and so beautifully decorated. I am a musician and I LOVED being able to play the baby grand piano. My husband likes to have some alone time and there were three porches to choose from so he could sit upstairs and look out of the balcony at the well-landscaped and spacious backyard. I took the front porch to read my book and enjoyed the views of the city and the front yard landscaping. We took advantage of an exercise bike on the third porch (so many porches!) and on the one rainy day we had, I enjoyed wandering around the home looking at the art, which is eclectic and tasteful. I loved especially the photo over the mantle of beautiful women in a contest that was a pre-cursor to the Miss America contest. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to stay here. It's a lovely home. Thank you for having us.

Absolutely Charming!
Upon arrival, you can tell that this home is very much loved. Meghan was there to greet us and show us around. Both she and David reached out the following day to see how we were settling in, which was very nice. The house is intuitively appointed with attention to detail in every charming little nook and cranny. The architecture is quite inviting, and the sitting/sleeping spaces are some of the most comfortable we’ve experienced as seasoned travelers. Our toddler loved playing “Three Blind Mice” on the piano, and also loved looking at the other musical equipment in the home. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with easy access to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. David is the most thoughtful and caring owner we’ve ever worked with and would definitely stay here again!

Comfy and sophisticated house, renovated with a great eye for space: luxurious &'cozy too!
This house is a total delight. We arrived-- 2 couples, a 12 year old, and poodle-- and all of us slept really well on great mattresses, and played inside and out. The property has lots of different activity zones and is incredibly well-stocked for easy living, plus a pleasant caretaker is just a few minutes away. We could walk for 20 min to great restaurants and galleries, or drive to beautiful hiking trails and return to a luxuriously comfortable place with everything for cozy time together or apart, with a media room, music room, cooking and outdoor eating spaces -- a lovely home in an interesting community and very special landscape.

Southern Hospitality at its Best
Now an Angeleno, I often find myself missing those experiences reminiscent of my Southern roots. That upstairs bedroom window overlooking a yard with a picket fence and huge old tree, complete with its own upstairs veranda and hammock, that big front porch for sipping a glass of wine and reading a good book. In this house, I felt transported back to that simpler, Southern time, without sacrificing the amenities of our modern world and the stylings of owners with exquisite taste. I'm an outdoorsy type, so having a wonderful outdoor deck from practically every room is an amazing attribute of this home. The furnishings are incredibly tasteful, and it's appointed with everything you need for a wonderful stay in Asheville, including it's own music room! That it is also so close to downtown, but exceedingly quiet, makes it rare. That it is near the fun emerging River Arts district just adds the panache! Added to that, the owners are amazing, and well, why would stay anywhere else? Jan, thank you so much for your Southern hospitality mixed with your worldly style! We had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful Home - Great Location
This home is absolutely gorgeous! It is conveniently located to downtown Asheville while providing a quiet and peaceful neighborhood setting. With both a fenced in front yard and back yard it was great for our dog also. You can sit on the front porch or the back deck and enjoy the beauty of this neighborhood. This property helped make our stay in Asheville very special. I highly recommend this property to other travelers.
