About Richard Harrigan
We bought this house during our move to Puerto Rico, as a great opportunity to be close to work. After a year we were required to start working in the northern part of the island. This is where you come in. We want to share our experience and house with you so that you too can see the calm and serenity we find in the south of the island especially at our little place.
Richard Harrigan purchased this House in 2014

Great view from balcony upstairs
We had a very relaxing stay about 2 weeks ago. The house is very well maintained, location is excellent, right on the beach. The beach is excellent for windsurfing and kite boarding, the wind seems to be infinite! Also for kayak or SUP when the wind subsides.
The view from the 2nd floor balcony is simply amazing, specially at dusk. We had an unforgettable time and will definitely go back!
Amazing location, attentive and caring host!
This cozy beach house sits on a very quiet bay. My wife and 3 kids had the whole beach all to ourselves during our stay 3/2018. Richard provides everything you’d ever need during your stay. The patio doors on the first floor slide all the way open carrying in the sound of the waves and the beautiful sea breeze. The house was very clean, the neighborhood is safe and quiet. The neighbor directly across the street is a sweet older gentlemen that has lived there forever. The AC works great when needed. We visited Ponce, Parguera, and Guánica, and Salinas during our stay. All are easily accessible and a short drive from the Santa Isabel area. You’ll have a great time here if you’re looking to explore South PR and the beautiful Carribean Sea coastline with all it has to offer. I look forward to returning and staying here again!
A view to die for!!
This property is in a residential area; quite secluded from the hustle of town, but not too far of a drive to get to town. The back yard opens up to the water, although there is not much as far as a typical beach, it does have a sandy access and beautiful palms. We were able to sit out on chairs and watch the waves. Kayaks were on-site for us to use. There is a small veranda that overlooks the water. The view really is incredible!
The house is separated to be used as separate living spaces with full kitchens both upstairs and down. We rented the entire house for 9 days. The rooms are spacious with A/C in each. There is a television downstairs in the main living room. The decor is homey, appliances are provided - including a washer and dryer.
The host, Richard, is very friendly and accomodating. We had rented the home in August, prior to the onslaught of devastating hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. He stayed in communication with us regarding the condition of the property so that there no surprises.
The home was in great condition by the time we arrived in January. He met us at the home to walk us through and even provided us a list of local restaurants. He was available by text if we had needed anything during our stay.
We will most likely try to get this property when we return next year. It was a lovely little home away from home while we did what we could on the island to help it recover from the storms.
Good house, but ugly waterfront with hidden reefs and doesn`t fit for family with kids.
Good house equipped with everything you may need during stay. Some things were not working (TV, toaster, washing machine e.t.c) but it is minor things. It has nice glass wall where you can partially see ocean.
If you are big company without kids who plan to travel, then it is a good choice in terms of price quality.
But if you are family with kids looking for waterfront hose where you can wake up and step into nice Caribbean beach, then look for something else.
If you decide to go swim, be careful with reef/rocks right in front of the house. My wife and me got couple of cuts in there. And definitely do not enter water without swimming shoes.
If you need nice beach, then drive to Playa Santa (70 km away).
We end up spending 2 to 3 hrs to drive to Playa Santa. And left property 2 days earlier.
By the end of the day this rent cost me partially screwed vocation and extra 1200 USD spent on hotels, gas, and early leave.
Home owner is another story.
Person i would advise not to have deal with and never trust. Befor we came i asked him if there is beach suitable for toddlers, he said property right on the beach and its good for kids. When we arrived, we realized that this place doesn't have beach, has rocks in the ocean and floor full of stones where my 2 years old kid could not walk i asked him to leave earlier because property was not as advertised, we agreed to refund me money and then never did because my son broke little toy which max value 5 USD.
Another argument from property owner was - we left place not clean. although when we arrived trash cans were half full already.
Moreover when we arrived all local people told us that nobody swim in that area because it is not safe.
Many families have stayed at our house and fully enjoyed our private little paradise. The bay does have a spot with some rocks but most of the sea floor there is flat packed sand. Swimming there is highly recommended and encouraged. We also have two kayaks (and life jackets) for our guests to use. Yes there are prettier beaches in PR with long stretches of white sand. I did offer Mr. Naumchik a 50% refund for the nights he wanted to leave early, because I sincerely want everyone to leave from their vacation happy and wanting to come back. When I arrived to the house there was more than a small toy broken. It is unfortunate that I had to rescind my offer for a refund but according to our cleaning team, "this is the worst condition the house has ever been." The thing about that is that I have the photographic evidence of the damages. I am more than fair but when I was threatened with a lawsuit and thousands of dollars of dr. bills I took strong offense.
The place was well kept. Richard was incredibly helpful before and during the trip. Highly recommend the place and rental.
Awesome place, very clean and comfortable
The owner is very helpfull, very nice person overall. Is always available, responds to every msg I sent him. The house is very clean and comfortable.
Our house is centrally located on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. It is right next to the water in the community of Jauca in Santa Isabel. We have neighbors but they are rarely around. Within 30 minutes from our house you can be to museums, hiking in the mountains (or just enjoying the majestic views), tranquil hotsprings in Coamo, Ruta de Mojo in Salinas, countless other attractions as well including a waterfall in a man's backyard (Salto Collores). We can help you put some plans together based on your specific interests, if you would like. We have quickly learned the ins and outs of getting around this fabulous "Isla Del Encanto"
