Hunter cottage, owned by the company Ronald Stoute & Sons Ltd. is nestled in the lush tropical gardens of the tranquil Castle Close Estate. This cottage offers a spacious living room with peaked ceiling, an adjoining dining room to seat up to eight, fully equipped kitchen with molded counter tops and a separate laundry with washer, dryer and freezer. The living/dining area opens through two separate french doors to a large terrace from which the soothing sounds of a waterfall by the pool can be enjoyed. The private pool and deck are accessed from this terrace via a short wooden bridge. For those who prefer to sit around the pool in a shaded location, a pagoda provides some protection from the sun at one end of the pool deck. There is an electrical outlet under the pagoda for your convenience, should you need to take your blender outside to mix tropical drinks or maybe to listen to music.

On the other side of the dining area is an enclosed courtyard, accessed from the master bedroom and kitchen as well as the dining room. This offers private alfresco dining, particularly for early morning breakfast. There are three air-conditioned bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms and also equipped with ceiling fans for those that prefer not to use the ac's. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed, and the bathroom has both a shower stall and a tub. The second bedrooms is furnished with a king-sized bed and the third with two singles. Daily maid service is provided and additional arrangements can be made for a cook to provide meals. There are several beaches within easy walking distance of the villa.

This cottage has been tastefully furnished and recently refurbished in the living/dining area. The use of coral stone wall finishes and tropical hardwood floors make it a very appealing place to stay as can be attested to by our many repeat guests whose reviews are available on our website at www.ronstoute.com.

Ronald Stoute and Sons Ltd. is a small family business that has been dealing in real estate and property management for over 40 years. We have been located in the Castle Close complex from inception which makes us very personally available to our guests, if needed.

The company decided to purchase Hunter cottage as, having managed the property for so many years, we were well aware of the potential of having a property in the tranquil Castle Close complex where the spacious grounds afforded the potential for the addition of a pool, expansion of the cottage and the creation of the lush tropical garden that now surrounds the cottage. The proximity to Sam Lord's' Castle beach was also a huge asset.

What makes this villa unique

The tranquility in Castle Close away from the hustle and bustle of traffic is an ideal location for a true holiday getaway. The South and West coasts are just 20 and 30 minutes drive away if you want to spend a day out for snorkeling, skiing or windsurfing but returning to this South- Eastern side of the island is always a most refreshing treat at the end of a long day. Here you can relax in the afternoon without the sun beating in prior to sunset, and enjoy the breezes which makes both the evenings and sunbathing much more pleasurable! You may soon decide that you would rather not leave this side! Not to mention that for early risers the sunrise is a beautiful time of day and seeing the sun rise out of the ocean on the East is something not to be missed. The same goes for the moon at night and moonlight nights on the terrace or pool deck, listening to the waterfall while enjoying a glass of wine or cocktail is a special treat at Hunter.

St Philip has some of the best beaches on the island, all very close to Hunters Cottage. The villa itself, is a bright, airy and a beautifully furnished home, equipped to a high standard, and lovingly cared for by Hunter cottage, is in the Castle Close secluded small development of 10 delightful villas, amongst immaculate gardens set away from the tourist area of Barbados. St Philip has some of the best beaches on the island, all very close to Hunters Cottage. The villa itself, is a bright, airy and a beautifully furnished home, equipped to a high standard, and lovingly cared for by Naomi (housekeeper) and Keith (gardener) who went about their daily work with discretion. It really is a home away from home, with everything you require to make it such an idyllic place to stay for your holiday. Hunter cottage is located on the South-Eastern coast of the island where the cooling Easterly breezes waft through the villa making the use of the air conditioners in the bedrooms strictly optional.

The breezes on this side make sunbathing more pleasurable and drinks on the terrace or pool deck more refreshing than on the West coast. This Eastern side also has the advantage of the sun and moon rising over the ocean. This allows you to enjoy special evenings particularly at full moon when the moon rises out of the ocean in the East as the sun is setting in the West. For early risers the sunrise is a special time of day particularly for walking, either on the beaches or through the developments adjacent to Castle Close if you require a quicker pace with little traffic!

Sam Lord's Castle beach is accessed via steps just a few yards from the cottage. Crane beach or Bottom Bay beach are two beautiful beaches, both just 5-10 minutes drive away. At Crane beach, which is the best choice for boogie boarding, you can rent your chair and umbrella while at Bottom Bay beach your shade is provided naturally by the trees. Foul Bay beach is another option particularly for those who like to drive straight down to the beach. There is also "Shark's Hole" which is a popular early morning dipping spot for locals as the reef around provides what is practically a salt water pool. And don't worry, we have never seen a shark there!

The Crane hotel with it's three restaurants and bars is just 5 minutes drive from the cottage as are "Cutters" or "Crane Palms" two smaller local bars/restaurants where you can also pick up your rum punch for picnicking at the beach or enjoying in the comfort of the villa.
