Casa Sophie is a charming village house, which was converted only a few years ago by the owners. From the original 2 donkey sheds, the owners have created a sympatrically redesigned and beautifully furnished home with 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms, a large fully-equipped kitchen, and a sitting room with a log fire.
There is a small courtyard which is a great refuge from the summer heat, but the sunseekers need to go to the roof terrace which gives them 360 views of the valley and plenty of sun! This is a charming little house and an ideal place for experiencing Spanish Village life from the bygone days.
Located in a quiet alleyway with plenty of parking space in the heart of the village, you enter the house from the alley into the sitting room.
Sitting room has a TV, Sofa, Chairs, Log Fire, ceiling fan and French doors into the courtyard. Traditional materials used to rebuild the property is evident here, with sealed terracotta tiles, vaulted ceiling and wood beams supporting the roof.
To the right of the sitting room you enter one of the bedrooms, and to the left you step down to the kitchen and onwards to the second bedroom.
The kitchen is connected via the sitting room, with a few steps down to the floor (remember this place is made up of 2 old units!). The kitchen might look traditional with the sealed terracotta tiles, wooden door cabinet, and a huge tiled canopy over the oven, but there is nothing old-fashioned about this kitchen. Fully-equipped with fridge-freezer, oven, gas hob, and another wood-burner to keep you cozy and warm in the winter and ceiling fans to keep you cool in the summer.
The first bedroom is set to the right of the entrance off the sitting room. There is a pair of single beds, built-in clothes rack, a free standing fan for the summer and an en-suite shower room with toilet and hand-sink.
The second bedroom is off the kitchen area to the right of the steps. This is a larger bedroom with a double bed, heating panels on the wall for keeping cozy in the winter and a free standing fan for keeping cool in the summer, with windows on either side that let in plenty of light, built-in clothes rack , shelving, and en-suite shower room with toilet and hand-sink.
The courtyard is just off the sitting room. It is fully enclosed and while it is light and airy, you are protected from the strong summer sun by the shade of the walls. There are steps that take you up or the roof terrace. To the right of this terrace is a Laundry Room complete with washing machine, tumble drier, and a BBQ for summer dining.
The roof terrace is a real suntrap and magnificent views of the village, the valley, and the surrounding countryside. This is a heaven for sun worshipers but if you get too hot, you can always dive downstairs into the courtyard!
