Quiet and cosy two bedroom apartment, independent part of jowner's property with own entrance. One double and one twin, sitting/dining room with French windows giving onto large balcony with beautiful views. Fully equipped fitted kitchen, large bathroom with bath/shower and toilet. Entrance hall by front door leading to outside dining area in garden by the front and the side of the apartment with BBQ area. There is secure parking on this gated property. Shared use of solar heated swimming pool, all set in a closed garden of about one acre with fruit and olive trees. French and English spoken.

We retired to the South of France after living and working in South East Asia for over 35 years. Born in England and France, both of us had been expatriates for most of our lives.

Why Denise & David Marchington chose Esterel - Fayence

We wanted to live away from cold northern winters. Fayence appealed because we have friends in the area and we bought the house because of its location near to the village and the magnificent views towards the mountains to the north and west. We love the area.

What makes this apartment unique

The view with the constantly changing colours and light, the quietness and the convenience. We love to sit by the pool on a summer's evening, sipping a glass of local rosé and watching the colours change as the sun goes down.

Delightful stay!

My family enjoyed a wonderful week at Les Cheminées. The facilities were impeccable - everything within the beautifully maintained apartment had been thoughtfully provided. The pool was magnificent and a welcome attraction on a hot sunny afternoon. Our hosts, Denise and David were welcoming, informative and very easy to get on with. We would highly recommend this apartment in a wonderful location with outstanding views. We hope to go back!

Fabulous!

We have just returned from a wonderful second holiday at Les Cheminees and immediately booked the same fortnight for next year. We have stayed in many rental properties over the years but this is in a class of its own - a beautiful location, optimum comfort, superb facilities with everything thought of and the most delightful hosts who quickly become friends. David and Denise are so kind and helpful and really go the extra mile for their guests. Fayence (just a short walk away) is a lovely village with excellent restaurants and is lively enough to entertain our two teenage daughters. If you love people watching, dropping in on a jazz festival or watching a boules tournament with all ages competing, then this is the place to be. It's also an easy drive to beautiful beaches, a wonderful lake with pedalo hire and all the luxury and grandeur of the Cote d'Azur. Also, there are two water parks within reach for families. All in all, we have decided that this is our perfect location and that's why we are breaking with our usual habits and going back for a third time. There's probably no higher praise one can bestow!

A home from home gite

Peaceful, lovely scenery, welcoming and attentive owners .... the perfect base for exploring the region with Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo and Verdon Gorge all in easy travelling distance. The property literally has every thing you need whether you intend to spend most of your time there or use it as a base to explore the region. Would go back without hesitation.

SIMPLY OUTSTANDING

Even after having read all the very positive comments and reviews , our three weeks stay at Les Cheminees nevertheless exceeded our expectations with regards to the quality of the house ,the amenities , the swimming pool and the quietness.

David and Denise are great hosts , always available for information and to lend a helping when required.

We have been in a lot of houses and apartments in France , Italy and Portugal in the past years but this one really stands out !

Needless to say we plan to come back again .

Wonderful setting, apartment and hosts.

Our family of three spent ten wonderful nights at Les Chimenees in late summer 2013. We found what, for us, was the perfect balance; wonderful views, fantastic pool, a rural setting yet with walkable ameneties, fine food and drink close at hand, privacy, much of interest locally and the best of the Cote d'azur within striking distance.

The apartment is very comfortable and has excellent facilities. The kitchen is well stocked, the pool equipment superb, while there are plenty of little touches such as picnic gear which you don't often find elsewhere. The pool and poolside are well designed and maintained and a very pleasant spot to while away a few hours.

David and Denise were the perfect hosts, welcoming and helpful, respectful and accommodating. They are full of local knowledge, and are great company over a game of boule, but beware, Denise is a deadly shot,

We would certainly recommend Les Chimenees. A fine base away from the chaos of the coast, but close enough to dip in at your leisure.

A little piece of heaven

As the title suggests we truly felt we had found a little piece of heaven with this wonderful apartment in its truly delightful and peaceful setting.

The apartment was very well equipped, has WIFI ( a must for the kids) and English TV. The pool facilities, the apartment balcony and the BBQ area have stunning views across the surrounding countryside.

It is within easy walking,distance of the local village of Fayence which has many restaurants and a local market three times a week.

A car would be recommended to explore further afield as there is so much to see and do. We made several trips to the lake where we took a picnic and hired a pedalo for 3 hours or more and enjoyed a lazy afternoon on the crystal clear waters of the lake. We made trips to St Tropez and Nice and a day at the beach at St Agulf. We even spent a few enjoyable hours in a glider at the local gliding school.

The owners of the apartment David and Denise were superb hosts and made us feel very welcome and gave us invaluable information about the local area (and wine!) to make the most out of our visit.

Truly a holiday to remember.

The property is situated 600 meters from the centre of the beautiful perched Medieval village of Fayence, one hour from Nice Airport, between Grasse and Draguignan and close to Lac de St.Cassien which offers swimming, fishing, pedalos and sailing. Gliding from the internationally renowned centre, horse riding and golf are also available and the towns of Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo and St. Tropez are all within easy distance. For the keen walkers the dramatic Gorges du Verdon are also within easy reach.
