About the property

This traditional village house, a short drive from Uzès, is laid out over three floors and boasts many original features but has been tastefully redesigned to cater for the requirements of modern day living including WiFi throughout and smart TV.

Ground floor: Large entrance hall; Salon; Dining kitchen incorporating electric oven, gas hob, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher and large American-style fridge freezer; Washroom with toilet and sink; Laundry/storage room with washing machine.

1st floor: Master suite incorporating large bedroom with queen-sized bed and single bed leading to large shower room together with extensive wardrobe space and dressing area; Large double bedroom with sitting area and Juliet balcony; Washroom with toilet and sink.

2nd floor: Double bedroom with access to private and secluded outside terrace; Shower room with toilet and sink; Summer salon with seating area including sofa bed, TV, fridge and double doors opening onto large outside terrace for dining al fresco with extensive views across village rooftops towards the Cevennes. The terrace comprises kitchen area with built-in barbecue, small stove, sink, worktop and storage.

Guest access: Car recommended with parking just 50m from the house. A bus service also runs between Nîmes and Uzès via Sanilhac. The nearest SNCF station is located in Nîmes as is the airport at Nîmes-Garons.

Interaction with guests: You will be met by hosts, Philip and Christine, who manage the property on behalf of the owners. They live locally and will help you with any questions (French and English spoken) about the house and the area. Should any further queries arise during your stay they will be available by phone or email although a comprehensive Welcome Guide will be at your disposal with details of places to visit, restaurant recommendations and information on cycle hire and wine tours.

Neighbourhood: The house is located in the heart of the peaceful old village of Sanilhac close to the church and temple and a short walk to the local bakery/café and the bar/restaurant "La Baume". Sanilhac is located close to the Gorges du Gardon with access via footpaths from the village. Walking, mountain-biking and bird spotting can all be enjoyed here. For shopping, the beautiful medieval town of Uzès is only 7km away with its independent shops, several supermarkets and a twice-weekly local market in the charming Place aux Herbes. The surrounding villages provide further opportunities to explore including an abundance of restaurants to choose from. The magnificent Pont du Gard is also close by with Avignon and the towns and villages of neighbouring Provence within an hour's drive. Pebble beaches, river swimming and kayaking can be enjoyed nearby whilst the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean can be reached by car within 45 minutes.

Owner's Response: On était très heureux d’accueillir la famille Leimann. Ils ont répondu à tous nos demandes de renseignements et nous gardaient au courant en ce qui concerne l’heure d’arrivée. Après leur départ on se trouvait une maison bien propre et bien rangée. Merci.
