Located on the south of the island, Playa Blanca is ideal for family beach holidays and offers a relaxed, upmarket setting for couples of all ages. The resort has also been designed with relaxation in mind! The 9 km of sandy beaches is an obvious attraction, broken into several Blue Flag bays and coves, linked by a seafront promenade. The sea is sheltered and safe for swimming and snorkelling with water sports including diving and pedaloes for hire.

Coastal walks lead to more secluded bays such as Papagayo Beach or you can take a 'sea taxi ' to this renowned beauty spot. It is also possible to uncover the rich, sleepy fishing heritage that Playa Blanca was built around, especially in the port. Nightlife is based around the restaurants and bars with no pounding late night clubs. If you are looking for late night clubs then Puerto Del Carmen is very popular on Lanzarote.

Location: Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on the Island of Lanzarote, it is approximately 37 kilometres from the Island’s capital Arrecife and some 33 kilometres from the Airport.

The house is just a ten minutes stroll along the promenade to the newly developed Marina Puerto Rubicon and a further fifteen minute walk into the main Playa Blanca resort. Amenities include a children's playground, bowling alley, crazy golf, tennis, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Playa Blanca also offers a wide range of water sports which can be booked at the Marina - Ideal for diving holidays.

Until quite recently, Playa Blanca was a small fishing village which has now become a bustling port where you catch the ferry to Fuerteventura.

Both rooms are very spacious and would provide enough space for a cot if required. Bedlinen per bed consists of 2 pillows, light quilt and covers/sheets.

The villa is stylishly furnished throughout with a light and airy ambiance. Downstairs consists of a lounge/dining room with a two seater and three seater suite, 32" Smart television, Internet streaming of over 1000 films including all the sports channels and UK television, dvd player with a large selection of dvd's, cds, games & books for all tastes and free wifi. The dining facilities seat 4 people. Patio doors from the lounge lead out to the spacious south facing garden and tiled patio area, which is furnished with sun loungers, brick built spanish barbeque and patio dining furniture. Lockable shutters to the downstairs windows provide the villa with additional cool shade and privacy on those long hot sunny days. The contemporary kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, sandwich toaster, full oven and hob, microwave and fridge freezer. The kitchen leads to a utility room which provides a washing machine, ironing board and iron and also additional storage.

Villa was very good and welcoming pool. Extremely well equipped and just as described.

We enjoyed our stay and although we had a car it was not necessary to go out in it every day. The marina had some very good restaurants and we ate out every night.

Very nice

We have just returned after spending 6 weeks in the villa. Everything was fine. The weather was not too good torrential rain at one point causing the overhead lights to trip - this was sorted out very quickly and efficiently cannot fault the service. The villa is situated in a very convenient location nice walks both to Playa Blanca, Marina Rubicon and Papagayo Beaches.The beach walk can be accessed by a climb up a small cliff which cuts the time down considerably.Just round the corner from the villa is a small bar (mainly locals) and a very good Supermarket, beware the bread !!! It is gorgeous we overdosed on it every day. Further down is an Iceland and a Waitrose. The villa itself is more than adequate the kitchen is very very well equipped. Everywhere was clean the bed linen and towels were changed weekly. Plenty of books to read also. Would definitely return

Tired in Papagayo

The location of the villa was good if you are keen walkers or have a hire car, otherwise it means buses or taxis into the main parts of Playa Blanca.

The villa is well set up for two or four having enough room to not be on top of each other.

However, the property is looking very sad and in dire need of refurbishment. The seating in the lounge is of poor quality and very uncomfortable. Thankfully, we had only booked for one week. The bed in the master is hard and smaller than we expected. Bedding is tired and in need of replacement. The second, twin room, had similar tired bedding and no blinds/curtains on the windows giving light all night from the street lights and waking the occupants from the early morning Sun.

Booked for a week in early December we had absolutely no use of the pool as extremely cold. Either reduce the cost for the Winter months or get some heating in. The neighbouring property has a heated pool and the residents used it every day.

The property says, ‘off road parking’ yet, there is no dropped kerb into the drive. I had no wish to possibly damage my hire car by banging it up the kerb.

The main patio door into the pool area is well over due replacement. Extremely hard to use and lock up. Once closed the wind howls through the 3/4 inch gap at the side.

Wi-fi is all but unusable, If someone was hoping to work whilst on holiday they would be very sadly disappointed.

Cleaning is very questionable as hairs from previous guests were evident in many parts of the accomodation, showers, bidet etc...

This property needs work spent upgrading and improving the facility and it may then justify the cost. We have, since booking, seen better and significantly cheaper villas which would put this one to shame.

Owner's Response: I am shocked to read such a bad review and why if you were so unhappy with the villa that you left it three weeks to complain and not address any issues whilst you were on holiday? The bed in the master bedroom is king sized and I was informed that the bedding used in the master bedroom was brand new!!!! Their are curtains in the second bedroom but we were not aware that their was a problem with the sun light !! The swimming pool is not advertised as being heated and has never been an issue with previous guests. Saying the villa is in need of a refurb is surprising as all furnishings have been replaced within the last few years. The WiFi was working fine for our previous guests prior to your arrival (who is a personal friend of mine) and guests who arrived after your departure stated that a cable had been disconnected. Regarding the patio doors they can be awkward to close but once closed properly their should be no gaps. As you can read from all our previous reviews we have never had a complaint regarding the cleanliness of the villa and I find it very hard to believe that the villa was not left in the same high standard for your arrival. As from previous reviews the villa is located within a few minutes walk from a fully stocked supermarket and the walk to the marina is a 15 minute pleasurable stroll along the sea front. Taxis and buses run within a couple of minutes from the villa if you do not wish to walk.

Loved playa blanca and villa was in excellent location 15 minutes walk to marina rubicon and supermarket and Iceland around the corner .Villa well equipped for 4 people only downside beds a little uncomfy but didnt spoil our stay at all. Contact with owners excellent and information and advice given excellent

Fabulous

The Villa was absolutely lovely. It had all the things you'd need to make it a home from home. Our 5 year old boy loved the pool, he was in and out of it the whole time we were there. There's games and UK kids channels for when he'd worn himself out from the swimming. The location was ideal for us, a lovely walk to the marina for dinner which we absolutely loved. We had a car for all other journeys which I'd recommend on this island anyway. We're looking to re book for next year.

Playa Blanca lies at the south of the island and still retains the atmosphere of a once small fishing village. This flourishing resort is ideal destination for families and couples, with a perfect average temperature of 22°C all year round. Surrounded by fabulous sea and mountain views, the villa is located in a peaceful area of Puerto Rubicon. It is within easy reach for all amenities which includes a supermarket and cafe at the end of the road. Excellent transport links into the town of Playa Blanca are provided by a taxi rank and bus route also at the end of the road, so really no need to hire a car. It is a twenty minutes stroll along the sea front to the newly developed Marina Puerto Rubicon which has a fantastic selection of shops and restaurants, bowling, tennis courts and children's entertainment. A further fifteen minute walk takes you into the main town of Playa Blanca. The villa is a perfect setting for couples and families who enjoy the freedom of self catering, who have their own private pool so no need to fight over sunbeds and who enjoy being out of the hustle of the town but only minutes away from all the excellent facilities Marina Rubicon and Playa Blanca town has to offer.
