If you are on a tight budget
Pros: close to beach and shopping. We enjoyed not having to use our car and walking everywhere. There is one shaded parking spot right outside the stairway to the apt which was convenient when we needed something from the car. It was very inexpensive for Rehoboth. 2 bedrooms, enough beds for 4 people (one King and 2 twins). Screened in porch was nice to have when it wasn't too hot. Kitchen had the essentials.
Cons:. Apt needs a major update. Furniture, pictures all very old. Outside shower was thick with mosquitos swarming. The entrance to the apt was also full of mosquitos making the packing of the car a frenzied experience. You need to remember to bring all towels: kitchen towels, bath towels, bathroom floor rug, washcloths, as well as King sheets and twin sheets and pillow cases. There is no dining table inside. There is only a big chest as a coffee table and it is not flat on top. If it's super hot, the screened porch is not comfortable and that is where the dining table is. The lock on the front door is such that you need a key to lock and unlock from the inside. In the event of a fire this could take time that could cost lives. Definitely know where that key is when you go to bed! Or just leave it in the lock.
The most perfect location between the beach and the center of town. Which is my priority when i travel. I don't need fancy furniture or modern renovation, Just simple and clean will do . Just make sure to bring your own sheets. Kitchen has everything you'll need to cook on a gas stove. And all the beds have comfortable mattresses . Landlord answered his cell at all times with any questions i had. I'm supper happy with the property , will definitely rent it again.
Decent accommodations for the price
I chose this booking because it was one of the few left when we were booking a last minute get away. I’m glad I had read the previous reviews so when our unit was already unlocked when we arrived by the “other renter” (the actual owner) I wasn’t caught off guard. The owner lives downstairs and obviously has a key to the unit. This unit has one locked door at the bottom of the stairs but a storage unit within that locked space says “private for downstairs unit only”. That gives me the impression that the downstairs rental has access to the upstairs unit as well. Just know that the owner lives downstairs. He was friendly and showed us around but he told us he was renting the downstairs unit all summer. Anyway, the unit was clean except for the twin mattress covers that had various stains on them as did the bed spreads. The unit had window AC units for the bedrooms (kept them very cool) and one unit for the living room (didn’t cool as well). No AC for the kitchen or bathroom. As long as we kept the doors open to these spaces they were tolerable. The outside screened in balcony was lovely in the mornings and my kids enjoyed eating breakfast out there sitting in the futon mattress. Walk to the beach (with a 8 and 4 year old) was 10 minutes and across 2 streets. We never had a problem crossing and most people stopped for us. Rehoboth Ave (where the main restaurants are) was another 5 blocks on the boardwalk. For a last minute rental it worked for us but I wouldn’t stay for longer than we did (4 nights). With 2 younger kids it’s just too far to all the main attractions.
Quaint spot near the beach, decent value
Very functional place to stay, great location. If the beds we're more comfortable it would be 4 stars, they're a little on the hard side. Make sure to bring your own towels and bed linens!
Great location, cute apartment.
Great location, easy walk to the beach/boardwalk, and easy walk to town and restaurants. Modest old fashioned apartment above a garage, nothing fancy but perfectly fine. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Loved the screened in porch, felt like we were in a treehouse.
We hope to come back again.
Good location with rustic accomodations
The location was ideal for the price being that it's only two blocks from the beach and a short walk into town with all of the shops and restaraunts. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and feels a bit like an escape to the countryside but with many neighbors. We were there in the early part of the off season so I'm sure that contributed to it. The cottage was cute and rustic. This is definitely not an updated, modern place with any amenities. Providing linens and toiletries would have been a nice touch but you'll have to bring your own. The wifi was decent but sometimes the signal was spotty since it was from the main house next door.
Three blocks to downtown Rehoboth, and 2 blocks to the ocean and boardwalk
