About this property

Refurbished 5-bedroom farmhouse located within easy reach of North Devon's golden beaches

The beautiful 5-bedroom Braunton Farmhouse is set high on the hill above Braunton and Croyde on the North Devon coast and can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. The large, refurbished farmhouse enjoys a peaceful setting in its own beautiful grounds, with large gardens for all to enjoy and stunning countryside views. A highlight for many staying at the house is its close proximity to the coast with the award-winning beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe only a short drive away.

Braunton Farmhouse is set over two floors with all 5-bedrooms located on the first floor along with one of the family bathrooms, the other two family bathrooms are located downstairs. The bedrooms at the house include 2 large doubles, one with a super-king size bed and the other a standard double, both are beautifully decorated in light pastel colours and enjoy lovely views over the garden and fields beyond. There are 3 bedrooms are twins and all have full-size single beds and ample storage. The downstairs bathrooms are situated towards the rear of the house and are fitted with a shower or a bath with shower overhead, as well as a wash basin and WC. The upstairs family bathroom has a bath, a wash basin and a WC.

A real asset for Braunton Farmhouse is its ample living space. The main living room is wonderfully bright and has been tastefully decorated, it features three comfy sofas and bean-bags, plus a large TV/DVD, it also benefits from views of the countryside. The second lounge is a smaller “snug” room perfect for getting away and relaxing, or as somewhere the kids can have to themselves, here you will find a sofa and an arm-chair plus a TV/DVD and games console.

The dining room has a large table and chairs to seat 10 people comfortably, and a high chair can be provided if needed. Finally, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a small kitchen table ideal for breakfasts and snacks. The kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, a coffee machine, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as well as everything else you would expect to find in a self-catering cottage.

Outside there is a massive garden to the front of the house and a pretty patio with pine table and chairs, plus a parasol and BBQ perfect for relaxed evening meals whilst watching the sunset. There is also a rear patio with a small table and chairs and space for storing surf-boards and bikes. Catering is available on request and it is possible for a marquee to be erected on the land for events.

The farmhouse is within easy reach of the lively villages of Braunton, Croyde and Georgeham, all have fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants, such as The Thatch in Croyde and At One in Braunton. In the nearby Georgeham there is The Rock and The Kings Arms both excellent pubs serving great food and only 2 miles away.

The beaches at Saunton and Croyde all have surf schools so all the family can learn to surf, windsurf or even kite-surf. Other water sports can also be enjoyed in the local area, as can walks along the South West Coast Path. For cyclists, the Tarka Trail starts in Braunton before running along the river to Barnstaple and then on towards Meeth on the edge of Dartmoor.

For children there are great attractions like The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and the water park at Cascades in Croyde, these are within easy reach and ideal for those looking to spend time away from the beach.

Braunton Farmhouse welcomes up to 2 dogs. There is an additional charge of £30 per dog per booking. Please notify at time of booking. Payment will be taken with the balance.

Super Farmhouse, Great Location
We really enjoyed our stay at Braunton Farmhouse. The house was exactly as listed. We had plenty of space and the living areas were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and we were able to cater for our group of 6 very easily. The bedrooms were all clean and comfortable as were the bathrooms. The location was brilliant for us - very peaceful but close enough to beaches, countryside walks and local amenities. The welcome pack of suggested place to visit, including pubs and restaurants, was very useful. The welcome 'goodies' were much appreciated after a long drive as well! A thoroughly enjoyable stay and we would certainly recommend it and stay again when in the area. One suggestion about the main living room would be to mount the TV on the wall above the (non-working) fireplace so that it is in a good position for all to view as some of the sofas get in the way a little. Only a minor suggestion, though!

What a wonderful house!
Such a lovely weekend with family staying at this house. The best thing about it is definitely it’s garden, it is huge and perfect for games, it spreads around the entire outside of the house too. We took our three dogs who loved it! The outside seating was perfect (although needs an outside light to be fitted as there isn’t one) we would have stayed outside longer if there was! The inside is just lovely, two living areas which was perfect for the children. Multiple bathrooms also came in handy! The bedrooms were fantastic and lovely and spacious. Just one note, be careful outside if it’s raining, the patio is lethal - we had a few slips!!

Farmhouse
Booking system and communication were very good. Large Farmhouse lived up to expectations and was in close proximity to many of the North Devon areas we were keen to visit. Linen, towels etc were in excellent condition. Access to the farmhouse was difficult due to the narrow lanes.

Braunton Farmhouse
We had a lovely summer break, much needed after Lockdown. The house suited us as the big garden was great for the children to run around and be safe, and we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to eat in the garden most days. We found the kitchen a bit small for 10 of us, as was the fridge. 2 of the bathrooms are downstairs which was a bit inconvenient and the downstairs shower room was very small. The upstairs bathroom would benefit from the addition of a shower. We loved the location, 15 minutes from Saunton, 20 from Croyde, although the beautiful Devon lanes were a bit of a challenge. We really appreciated the 'welcome' Devon Scones and clotted cream, thank you.

Great house and location
Very clean and well equipped house, close to the local beaches and walking distance to good local pubs. Lovely decor and large rooms. Prosecco and scones on arrival and shampoo in all bathrooms.
