Honeysuckle cottage was beautiful and very well presented with a beautiful garden and lovely views.
We stayed in Honeysuckle cottage for a long weekend and it was superb. Very relaxing and the owners were very welcoming with excellent welcome scones on arrival. We loved our stay and will definitely return again. Our dog Bailey was made to feel welcome and was quite at home in the large garden. We enjoyed a very relaxing and tranquil break....thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your great review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Honeysuckle Cottage, it was a pleasure to meet you both and Bailey. Millie missed him when you left, they had a good time playing together. With your very busy jobs its good to hear that you managed to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet as well as fitting time for some fitness walking around Lydford Gorge! The bluebells and wild garlic are stunning there at the moment, I'm really glad you saw them. It will be lovely to see you again.
Misleading property photographs
We booked through Owners Direct and thought we had booked the detached cottage as shown on this review page and also in the many photographs for honeysuckle cottage.
Instead we had booked a smaller property and would properly describe it as a ground floor flat with only a small ensuite with shower, wash basin and toilet.
The host were very pleasant and informative but the description and surprise when we arrived
left a lot to be desired.
We regret that this guest felt he was mislead by the mix of photos in our previous Ownersdirect advert but each photograph was clearly labelled as to which of our 2 cottages they were applicable to and we have never had this problem with the many other guests who have booked through the Ownersdirect site. The pricing scale clearly indicated which property was being booked.
Since this has been highlighted to us we have now separated the adverts. The photos in this advert show only Honeysuckle Cottage which is a separate part of our 16th century farmhouse.
Very warm and friendly welcome from the owners! Despite the weather we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Lovely walk up to Brentor church from the cottage. Fabulous views of the night sky, overall perfect base for exploring this part of Devon.
Thank you for your good review of us. I am glad you had the opportunity to walk up to Brentor Church, it's so close and the views from the top are amazing. On a clear day you can see from coast to coast, it's well worth the walk. You managed to fit in a lot exploring in the area as well as seeing your grandson! The view of the night sky is fabulous from the cottage with no light pollution there are some beautiful starry nights here. It was lovely to meet you both, we hope to see you again when you are back in the area.
Warm compact cottage with a very friendly welcome
Honeysuckle cottage is part of the main house but extremely private with its own garden space for the dogs. Great long weekend break.
Thank you very much for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday with us. Honeysuckle Cottage is warm, cosy and very private with a big garden. It was lovely to meet you and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Lovely cosy cottage in this beautiful area of Dartmoor. So much to do in this area. We intend to go back as we didn't fit everything that we wanred to do in. We had 2 wet days but also some super weather.
The cottage was very well fitted with every thing I could possibly need. I felt very much at home with the friendly owners. It is in a lovely remote spot.
