Whole house available for the first time this summer. Spend your precious summer vacation staying in a stunning Maison de Maitre of considerable size on the edge of a village surrounded by vineyards. The house has a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 shower/bathrooms. Perfect for a group who want to holiday together yet retain a little separation. Lots of space and greenery. Wifi throughout house. The house has an spectacular outdoor entertaining space accessed directly from the kitchen with space for 8 to eat and relax. It is a very special property with room for everybody to escape or come together.
There is a large (12 metres by 6 metres) swimming pool which is not fenced (although alarmed) so not greatly suited to small children. Each of the bedrooms is elegantly decorated and there is a spectacular barn extension to the property which houses a vaulted kitchen, first floor summer sitting room and second floor bedroom and sitting area. Three of the bedrooms have an en suite shower or bathroom and there is a further shower room for use by the other two bedrooms. There are separate toilets in addition.
There is a winter sitting room, a dining room ( although during the summer we cannot imagine that you will want to be inside as even on an overcast day the outdoor entertaining area would still provide the perfect place to relax) and many places to just lie with a book inside or out. There are weber barbeques and table tennis table. We also have two bikes that we can leave for “the bread collector” and others available for rental nearby.
There is a restaurant in the village and bread/provisions available In the neighbouring village. Main supermarket shopping is only 12 minutes by car. It is less than an hour from Toulouse airport and city and only 30 minutes from the spectacular City of Albi. Cordes sur ciel, repeatedly voted one of the most beautiful villages in France is just 20 minutes away. We are well served by brocantes and flea markets and both Cordes and Gaillac have fabulous weekly food markets. Sunday morning spent at the St Antonin de Noble Val market ‘people watching’ is a must. Also the site of films for its fabulous beauty.
The area features in the Helen Mirren film “100 foot journey” having been discovered by Film-maker Steven Spielberg who loved it so much he apparently decided to make a film here.
You can take part in wine tours; we can arrange cooking or baking classes; brocante trips; you can have someone come in and cook for you by prior reservation and we can also help you book hot air balloon tours to take in the spectacular scenery of the area. We can also arrange cycle tours with a local guide if you come with a road bike and want to cycle in this area, a favourite for a stage of the annual Tour de France. We can direct you to canoeing along the Tarn and there is gourmet dining in the next village where a restaurant is run by a former Michelin starred chef at reasonable prices. There are many restaurants around in the countryside. There is a lake with leisure facilities ( tennis courts picnic area and a lovely walk) just 2-3 miles away. There are weekly apero concerts set amongst the vineyards and at the nearby Abbey to enjoy. We can deliver home made desserts or even morning bread and pastries for an additional cost. If you ever dreamt of giving up life and moving to France then this would be that dream. Take yourselves away and enjoy a taste of this with your friends and family this summer
