Our time in NYC is now drawing to an end.
We have had the most amazing holiday. This is largely due to our stay in your lovely apartment in Hamilton Heights.
We have loved coming 'home' here in the evening to a warm and welcoming space with everything we need right at our fingertips.
So thank you very much for your orientation and hospitality. The map you gave us is well worn and Bradley tells me we have walked about 70kms + !
Once again, sincerest thanks
Myself and my Mother spent six wonderful days at Ray's comfortable spacious and well located brownstone apartment. The area has everything...its predominantly Hispanic with a mix of students from the nearby Columbia University...everybody is so friendly ..chatting and smiling outside busy shops and cafes...we never felt anything other than safe walking around the area both a night time and during the day...the location is as Ray had said a short subway ride from downtown Manhattan so essentially you have the best of both worlds and always have the retreat and comfort of returning to your apartment after a busy day shopping or sightseeing around the city...I've stayed in a hotel downtown before but never again...the sense of living in a living breathing community is more enriching and leaves one with greater sense of having experienced a city. The local Grange restaurant has to be visited (Great Burgers and fine craft beer with lovely friendly staff) ..Cafe was our daily breakfast haunt (simple delicious breakfasts and homemade muffins to die for!..great coffee and hot chocolate too and yes, more friendly staff)...nearby River side park is a must..I ran through it each morning and alongside the Hudson River and down to the northern tip of Central park....picturesque and peaceful and safe..General Grants memorial building can be seen near the entrance to the park and is worth a viewing....one evening I went to the Smoke Jazz club (2751 Broadway) where you can enjoy live Jazz and eat good food at same time (be sure to phone and book as it sells out)...So...yes, I would highly recommend this Apartment and will certainly return for more of the same...Ray was a fantastic host ...meeting us at the Apartment showing us around and giving us all the information on the area including a useful map. On our departure he arranged a Cab to JFK and looked after our Bags while we enjoyed our last day in New York...10 out of 10 :)

Had a great stay in Ray's apartment, the advice from Ray on how to get around and places to visit together with his helpful advice on visiting NYC was excellent. The apartment is a short subway ride from mid / down town and as it's in a quiet area there were no disturbances. Would definitely stay here again to visit NYC
The property was immaculate. Clean, comfortable in a great location. The kitchen had everything required if you want to cook. The area itself is a great neighbourhood, we felt safe at all times of day and night. The apartment is a short 5 minute walk to the subway into central Manhattan. (20 minute subway ride to Times Square)
I would not hesitate to recommend this place. A 5 minute walk away. We had great food in The Grange and would also recommend this restaurant very highly.
My wife and I along with our son (26) and daughter (21) stayed in this one bed room townhouse apartment for six nights from 27 December 2016. This well maintained apartment is as described in the owner's advertisement. I would have no hesitation in recommending staying in the apartment.
Rick, the owner, met us when we arrived. After briefing us on the key features of the apartments and its appliances, we had time to discuss tips for enjoying New York. Rick is very hospitable and is very helpful in dealing with any queries.
The apartment is located in an area which has a Spanish speaking community. The location is safe and at no time did we ever feel uncomfortable. Indeed all the people we interacted with in the immediate locality were welcoming and friendly.
MTA New York City Subway 137 Street City College stop is a few minutes stroll from the apartment. A seven day MTA ticket ($31) provides access to the subway and buses. Line 1 (137 Street City College) on the Downtown/South Ferry line takes approx approx 20-25 minutes to travel to Time Square. The subway is easy to navigate and gives access to most popular tourist sites within the City.
There is a supermarket located beside the subway stop on 137th Street which has a wide range of products to suit all tastes. On the walk back to the townhouse apartment from the subway stop, there is a McDonalds and an excellent Mexican restaurant/bar. We also made use of and recommend the Chinese take away located on the corner of Broadway/140th Street.
Staying in this locality gives a real experience of life in New York!
Not only did Ray's apartment completely live up to its billing, but the good man himself was such a pleasant, helpful and courteous host. The apartment itself was bright, airy, spacious, comfortable and clean, and so well equipped - everything you could need was provided. Best of all was the fantastic location. The apartment is close enough to midtown for easy access to all the sights of central Manhattan, but far enough away to provide peace, quiet and respite from the noise and bustle of the big city at the end of a hard day's pavement pounding. The neighbourhood itself was vibrant and fascinating too, a real multicultural mix, with great local eateries and shops (not to mention a mind-boggling array of foods in the local supermarket - we were dazzled by the choice of soft drinks alone!) We'd have liked to spend longer exploring the area - maybe next time. Ray was so helpful too, right from our very first enquiry to ordering a cab to the airport at the end of our stay, the man is a gent. His hospitality even extended to providing us with space, hot water and towels after we'd formally checked out to let us dry off after a drenching in Central Park.
Thanks so much, Ray, it was a joy to stay at your place, and we hope to see you again sometime.

This apartment was such a lovely spot to come "home" to after a long day of activities. It was very clean and comfortable. It had all of the kitchen utensils and linens we needed. We found Ray to be easy to access and he also had great local tips. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The neighborhood of this Apartment is historically and architecturally one of New York City's richest and most diverse neighborhoods. New York City is the #1 safest large city in the USA. New York City has never been better. Come enjoy EVERYTHING!
