About Alison Baker & Robert Podgursky
We are a fun-loving family of 6 (two parents, two kids, a pug an a gecko) who share an absolute love of the Berkshires, "our happy place". Nothing beats hanging out under a shady tree while the kids frolic in the lake or a hike that ends in a waterfall. We live full- time in Maplewood, NJ, where we have access to NYC for our jobs. We warmly welcome adults (and dogs) of any ethnicity, color, religion and sexual orientation.

Why Alison Baker & Robert Podgursky chose Stockbridge
It was love at first sight. It's such a cute home! It has the perfect balance of privacy and comfort while being a quick drive to amazing restaurants and all the Berkshires have to offer. My kids love the large backyard.
What makes this House unique
Location and modern amenities such as central air, which is wonderful on hot days. This house is suitable for a "working vacation" because of the excellent Wifi but it is also an ideal place for unwinding and discovering the Berkshires. The house is very kid-friendly and dogs are considered.

Open, private, and perfect location
Valentine Lane is a short few minutes' drive to Stockbridge. The house is off the road quite a bit on a sunny secluded lot. There's a lovely back porch looking over the large back lawn, which is surrounded by trees. There's a nice 45-minute loop walk from the house along country roads, past the golf course, the Housatonic River, and many interesting homes, from classic estates to rustic chic. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. Alison was responsive and helpful when setting up our stay.
May was the perfect time to visit - the leaves and flowers were just coming out and the weather was perfect - no too cold and not too hot.
Sweet, Charming, Clean & Fun!
This house is just lovely. Perfectly located just ten minutes from...so much but secluded and private. Every room in the house is simply and beautifully furnished. We stayed during a bit of a cold snap but we were cozy the whole time with great heating and a great fire. We had 4 kids with us ( ages 9,6, 2 and 1) and two adults. I felt very comfortable from a safety perspective and the kids had a great time. The house is completely updated with great bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen. The property is surrounded by beautiful trees and has great light. It snowed 6 inches while we were there and we were thrilled when the prearranged ( by the owners) snow plow showed up to dig out the driveway. The beds were super comfortable and the sheets and towels were fantastic. There were plenty of extra pillows and blankets all over the house. We used the washer and dryer ( also seem brand new) and loved the convenient entrance to the house from the garage. We enjoyed Ski butternut and Baba Louies in great Barrington during our visit -- both were only 10 minutes away. I communicated with Alison the owner a few times before the visit and once during and she was super quick to respond and super helpful. I highly recommend this home and we will be sure to visit again during the summer. The property must be stunning during the summer months!
Very comfortable and great for kids
We stayed here in Feb 2018 and had a great time. The home is in a nice, quiet location but located conveniently close to town. Kitchen is well equipped and we cooked all of our meals at the house. The owner even left us a basket of snacks which were greatly appreciated. We used the cozy fireplace every day. The kids really enjoyed the books, toys, and sleds that were available at the house. We frequent this area and look forward to staying here again!
Private but not secluded. In the heart of what's happening in the Berkshires.
This is my second time at the cottage on Valentine Lane. I love it! I
