Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home in a great neighborhood of Dublin-10 minute walk to Temple Bar and other main tourist areas-but you have the benefit of being on a quiet, residential street. The apartment was well-equipped and well-maintained, and checking in and out was very easy. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Dublin!

Nice property in a great location in Dublin.

  • 4 of 5

My two girlfriends and I enjoyed the O'Donnell House for 4 nights in Dublin. It is quite close to Christ Church Cathedral, so pretty central in Dublin. While within an easy walk, it is on the opposite end of the city center from Trinity College and the Temple Bar area. Once I had seen this area (Temple Bar/Trinity College) I was glad to be on the other end. The apartment is in the Liberties neighborhood which is older and has some character and looks like people actually live there. It is also within walking distance to both the Guinness Store house and Jameson's Distillery. If walking the city is not to your taste, the city bus system is easy and all run nearby. The apartment is beautiful in many ways - lovely hardwoods. Umbrellas were provided for use - very helpful! There were, however, some small issues I had with the apartment. The kitchen trash had not been emptied so that greeted us on our arrival. The hairdryer did not work at all. It was replaced, to their credit, but it took a couple of days. The overall cleanliness of the apartment left something to be desired - huge cobwebs in the bathroom skylight, and the floors were kind of dirty. There were no paper towels or napkins at all. (It's the little things that make a difference sometimes). I wanted to open the windows at night for air in the front bedroom but the street noise prevented me from being able to do that. I guess that comes with being in the city. One note that could really matter to some - the stairway is extremely steep and narrow with no railing on one side, so one misstep could really be dangerous. OK, all that said, my friends and I enjoyed our stay in Dublin in the O'Donnell House.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

Apartment was in a good location. Close to most major attractions. The unit is a little hard to find if you are driving as it is on a one way street which is only one block long. The unit is nicely furnished and has both a washer and dryer. Neighborhood is fairly quiet. Parking is definitely a problem. You can't park in the streets around the area during the week unless you have a sticker. We weren't told that until after we arrived and had to set out very early the morning after we arrived to search for a place to park. We found a parking garage about 6 blocks away. It would have been nice had our host told us about it. I didn't get the impression the owner was very familiar with the area directly around the unit as we could have been given better directions to help us find the unit.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

House is in a perfect location, 5 minutes walk from The Guinness store and 10 minutes walk from Temple Bar area. The house was a great size for 2 couples, very modern and clean. The surrounding area was very quiet and was easy to walk everywhere.

I recommend this house and would stay here again. We asked if we could get in early to drop off our cases as we had a morning flight, William met us smack on time which saved us having to carry our cases around all day.

A great place to eat is The Queen of Tarts, don't be put off by the queue outside as it moves quick and is worth the wait.

Great location, lack of cleanliness

  • 1 of 5

This was a great location. An easy 10-15 minute walk to most of the sights. However, the house was very dirty from crumbs on the kitchen counter to dried chips and bugs on the floor to dirty tub at check-in. The cleaning fee is not being used for more than cleaning linens apparently. In addition there was poor water pressure in the shower - we weren't expecting great pressure but is was just over a dribbling pressure - although one could adequately shower.

William greeted us with the keys but did not orient us to the house or anything. In fact, he barely said hello. Carol did come check the water pressure straight away but could not get it fixed before our departure. Overall, it was the most disappointing VRBO to date and I've used them all over the world.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay, as you can see from past comments, people love staying at our property and we want people to have a wonderful time whilst in Dublin. I have spoken to the cleaning staff and have implemented a new management structure to ensure the house is spotless in future. As for the water pressure, we have an advanced system that works wonderfully, unfortunately somebody turned it off, I am not sure how this happened, but once turned on the water pressure is very good. I thank you for your feedback. Kind regards, Trisha.

Great location, cute unit, but some things could use some attention.

  • 3 of 5

Great location close to main attractions. However, shower water pressure was pretty bad and there were barely enough towels for 4 people. Couldn't get the oven to work as the indicators were faded and there were no directions. Would have been nice to have some basic supplies like a bar of soap and tin foil. Double bed was lumpy, King was okay. Property was clean.
