About the property

Private heated pool, beautiful Esterel views, near beaches, 3 beds/sleeps 6.

The apartment has a large, private sun bathed terrace and glorious garden (around 350 m²) featuring a lovely and fully maintained heated swimming pool for the sole use of this apartment. There is a shaded area to escape the sun should you wish and the terrace is fully furnished with loungers and comfortable seating. Recently fully refurbished, this is the perfect location for a restful or active holiday for all the family with nearby beaches and all manner of leisure facilities. In November 2012 we installed a brand new, luxury kitchen with all mod cons and it has recently been freshly redecorated throughout. This year we are doing some work on the swimming pool. There are three double bedrooms: a master bedroom with en-suite, large twin with en-suite and third bedroom with double sofa bed and en-suite shower room. The facilities are great for adults and children with comfortable seating, SKY TV and a great library of DVDs and books to read. Location: The prestigious Domaine du Grand Duc is a secure private, gated estate with 24 hour security. It is situated in-between La Napoule, a picturesque local seafront village with lovely beaches and its own castle and Mandelieu, a thriving village full of local shops and supermarkets, both only minutes away. Nearby, the bright lights and luxury setting of Cannes provides everything that an international holiday destination offers from the full array of exclusive boutiques to smart beaches and a range of fabulous restaurants. In the summer, regular City firework displays are spectacular. Hilltop Mougins is also a short drive away with its views, galleries and eateries and slightly further afield you will find Antibes with its Picasso museum, harbour and old town, Juan-les-pins, quaint Valbonne with its lovely shops and markets and Biot, famous for pottery and glass blowing are within easy reach. A favourite of many painters including Van Gogh and Cezanne, it truly is a very special place.

Area: Many colourful local markets make for a fun tript. An ideal location to discover the beautiful area of the French Riviera with it's many medieval villages like Mougins, Biot, Valbonne, Grasse, St. Paul de Vence. For the adventurous, there are beautiful lakes and gorges to visit and if you wish, you can easily drive to many places in Italy. For skiers, there are several lovely ski resorts within driving distance and golfers are spoilt for choice with around nine great golf courses in the area. Jet ski, water-skiing and all beach activities are available too.

Domaine Le Grand Duc: Le Grand Duc is a private, secure, gated domain. Facilities on the domain include a large, communal pool which is free of charge should you wish to use it. There is also a 'club' with another large pool, tennis courts, a gym and table tennis for which they make a daily charge.

We're both born and bred Londoners living and working in London. This apartment is very much our second home, bought because we love the area. Living in a busy city means means that our lovely villa-apartment in the sun is a real bolt-hole and place we enjoy whenever we can - which isn't often enough!

Why Nicola Coleman and Jeff Gitter chose Cannes - Grasse - Antibes

We think that the property is gorgeous. It sleeps 5/6 people and has three bathrooms, a spacious living room but most importantly, a private heated swimming pool, large terrace and pretty garden. We try to make some improvements each year. Recently, we upgraded our kitchen with a complete re-fit featuring all mod cons, installed some lovely garden lighting and a fresh coat of paint thoughout . Last year we upgraded the swimming pool and this year we are replacing the flooring in the living and dining area. Our home is on a beautifully kept private domaine which provides added security and peace of mind. In return for peace, serenity and security, You'll need a car whilst you visit but that's just about the worst inconvenience. All of our previous guests have loved it here as much as we do.

What makes this apartment unique

I guess that the unique benefits are peace and quiet, our private heated pool (heated pools are unusual in this area), private terrace and garden with lovely shaded areas should you wish to escape the sun and spectacular views over the Esterel Valley. Proximity to bustling Mandelieu, picturesque La Napoule and the bright lights of Cannes as well as being accessible to Juan les Pins, Antibes, Valbonne, Biot, Nice, Ville Franche, Beaulieu and at a pinch, St Tropez are a definite plus.

We had a fantastic time all week and felt so at home even though it was our first holiday in France, it was kind of weird! We had a warm welcome from Julian, the apartment was very clean and tidy on arrival and it is the perfect place we could have been to. We loved the setting and the interior decor, the magnificent views from the garden and the pool topped it all off. It exceeded all of our expectations.

We will definitely go back, if not next year it will be the year after.

Our home is fully air conditioned. The pool is heated. Well equipped, NEW LUXURY KITCHEN in restful neutral palette with washer/dryer, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, waste disposal and more. All bed linen, towels and beach towels are included. Clean and made-up beds and towels will await you on arrival. Latest check-out is 10.00 am. Check-in any time after 4.00 pm. Early check-in please enquire. All rates inclusive of hot water and electricity. A 30% non-refundable deposit is requested on booking. The balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival together with a breakage deposit of € 600; the breakage deposit is refundable within two weeks of the end of your stay.

Wonderful for all the family

This was our second family holiday at the apartment. It was an easy decision to return as we had such a great time the previous year.

The pool and terrace area are fantastic with stunning views of the surrounding hills. There are plenty of loungers and chairs with a shaded area which we would typically sit under to enjoy our lunch. There's an outside fridge that is well stocked with water, soft drinks, beer and wine that guests can use and then restock.

Inside, the apartment is well furnished and has everything you could possibly need. The Wi-Fi and Sky TV is like home from home and keeps the kids entertained when they need a break from the sun.

Jeff and Nicola are a pleasure to deal with good communication throughout.

We've already booked for 2016 and can't wait to enjoy another holiday.

Look no further - this is it!

We are just back from what turned out to be our best two weeks in South of France yet. This vacation home has everything you could possibly want. Here is why you should look no further:

- Quality: Nicola and Jeff have immaculate taste in furnishing and interior design. Original art on the walls, and lots of vintage photos of Bob Dylan (Jeff's a super fan), and many other nice details. It actually makes a difference to your stay.

- Cooking: unlike most other rental units, the kitchen has top notch quality kitchen tools, with most of the things you'd need to make great tasting meals from all the fantastic local produce.

- Views: You get stunning sunsets over the Esterel mountains from your South-west exposed (expansive) terrace.

- Privacy: The garden and terrace offer complete privacy. Except the upstairs neighbours, that rarely or ever use on their balcony (at least, we didn't see them at all)

- Safety: the gated community offers full security. An acquaintance of ours got robbed on high daylight, while they were at home, in their vacation home in Roquefort-Les-Pins. While these episodes are rare, they can happen. They won't happen here, however, because of the guards at the gate.

- Location: Proximity to Nice Airport, and Cannes, while the coast from Theoule to St Raphael is quieter than elsewhere in Cote d'Azur. It means you go for short drives to less busy (very beautiful) beaches. Also, the mountaintop location means you have a cooler breeze than down in Mandelieu.

- Fauna: wild pigs are roaming the grounds, and they are super cute and curious.

- Trust: the owners trust their guests, and have a fully stacked drinks fridge where you can help yourself to beer, wine, water and soft drinks, and replace what you took before you leave.

- Service: the owners have involved a nice service staff to ensure you get a comfortable stay. The pool guy Heinrich (??) is very cool, and Julian, the man with the keys, was very helpful and service minded.

What you should know, however, is that a car is a must, as there are no supermarkets or cafes/restaurants within walking distance. You are 3km / 2 miles from the beach, mostly a steep uphill pedestrian-unfriendly road. It restricts your movements beyond the car. You also don't get any sea views (while the mountains are also pretty). At this distance from the sea they are less of big deal anyway.

Absolutely stunning, can't wait to return

This was our second holiday at this beautiful property and we just love it. There is everything you could wish for to enjoy your holiday. The property is located in a beautifully maintained gated community, is extremely clean and exceptionally well stocked with quality bedding, crockery and appliances. The beds are very comfortable, the air conditioning wonderfully cool after the heat of the day and the terrace and pool, wel what can we say, absolutely wonderful, clean and the water a marvellous temperature of 28 degrees. We just loved sitting out in the evening, watching the sun go down, glass of rose in hand, just sheer bliss. Owners Jeff and Nicola are a delight to deal with, good communication throughout the booking process and nothing was too much trouble. We cannot rate this property highly enough and we will be back for our third holiday as soon as we can!
