5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with large garden on farm in East Sussex
About Josephine Wadman
A country girl who loves to travel to new places and experience new cultures. I have worked and travelled all over the world and stayed in some wonderful and hospitable places. Highlights were working on a Dude Ranch in Colorado, trekking in Nepal and backpacking down the coast of Vietnam. I have a horse and love to ride, I'm a beginner cross-fitter, I like running and generally being outside if the sun is shining!
Why Josephine Wadman chose Westham
I now have a lovely property for rent and I only hope that I can be as welcoming and accommodating as some of the people I met on my travels! This large, spacious farmhouse is perfect for friends and families who want to explore the gems of Sussex from the British countryside. And why not start by enjoying the 800 acres of land that the farm sits on, equipped with a lake and a small reservoir!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
It's location is such that you feel completely tucked away in the countryside, yet Eastbourne is only 20 minutes by car and Brighton 45 minutes by car. The South Downs National Park is 25 minutes by car and London is 1 1/2 hours on the train direct from Polegate to London Victoria. Knockhatch adventure park, Druisllas zoo and Sharnfold farm are all close by and perfect for children. There really is something for everyone and it is all so accessible, from such a fantastic location. Step outside the door for views of the south downs, horses grazing and tucked behind the trees, our reservoir, where you can be the only one fishing.

A great stay
Good location, ideal property for a family gathering ages ranging from 2 to 65+. The children enjoyed the walks round the reservoir and the horses. Close to some good days out including the miniature railway museum and the beach. Ps thanks for the homemade cake we found on arrival, a nice touch
We all had a lovely time. Thank you. Everything was brilliant
A splendid base for a family holiday in rural surroundings.
By common consent this house was one of the very best we’ve stayed as a family over recent years. The property was very clean, well equipped and extremely spacious for ten of us; a toddler, two little girls, parents and grandparents.
At the beginning of the week the weather was very cold and we were glad of the open fire. Later on early summer had arrived and we all enjoyed the pretty garden, especially for two Easter egg hunts. Drusillas, farm animals and the sea were great for the children, and the grown-ups appreciated the many National Trust properties within easy reach. I must also mention the delicious homemade cake which we found on our arrival - thank you, Josephine!
Nice and clean house
Thank you Jo for everything!
The accommodation was perfect for a large group. Very spacious, clean and well equipped.
Ideal for a large family who enjoy the countryside 10 out of 10
A spacious, comfortable, well equipped house ideal for a family break; we were 9 of all ages from 2 upwards.
A quiet peaceful location with plenty of interesting things to do nearby - we thoroughly enjoyed Brighton, Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Science Centre and lovely walks to The Long Man, Cuckmere Valley and The Seven Sisters.
Jo provides a very comprehensive guide to the area, and we were lucky enough to also receive a delicious cake! 10 out of 10
Feel free to walk on our in hand farm of 800 acres; discover our beautiful lake which you can swim in and fish in our reservoir. The farm has easy access to the Cuckoo Trail, a 14 mile surfaced path through the Sussex countryside which mostly traffic free and is a safe route for walkers and cyclists of all ages.
There are lots of other activities just a 20 minute drive away. Head down to the seaside and visit the South Downs National Park, home to the picturesque Seven Sisters and Cuckmere River. Have a pint in some delightful pubs tucked away down country lanes, browse the antique shops in Lewes and stop for afternoon tea in the quintessentially English village of Alfriston.
