Located in the quietest corner of Grand Champions Villas, this 3-bedroom condo backs to the 8th hole of the golf course at the base of Haleakala, the dormant volcano meaning "house of the sun". The views from the lanai and sense of peace and privacy are extraordinary. Tropical flowers and Maui's colorful birds abound.
The condo has been upgraded with 16" stone-like tile throughout. The bedrooms each have A/C and beds are King, Queen and 2 Twins. Both baths have been remodeled with gorgeous travertine tile - the master bath is ensuite. The kitchen is also remodeled with Corian, gorgeous Lyptus cabinets and stainless appliances. Books, games and some of our favorite art are found throughout. Come enjoy our piece of Maui.
South Maui is toned down from the big resorts and crowded beaches of Kanapali and Lahaina. By law, all beaches in Hawaii must offer public access, and you can find some real treasures in South Maui. One of our favorites is Makena Surf, which is south of Wailea Beach. There is a little eight car parking lot south of the Four Seasons hotel, don't blink, you'll miss it. You'll be treated to a small, very private beach with reasonable surf, great snorkeling (you'll almost always see a turtle, sometimes some reef sharks) and beautiful sand.
The beach walk at sunset is a must while you're there. Wailea maintains a beautiful path between the hotels and the ocean for a sunset stroll. If you're arriving from the states, you'll typically get in too late to enjoy the beach the first day, but you can drop your bags at the condo, park at any beach lot, walk towards the beach and find the path. Walk in either direction, and watch for the green flash at sunset.
The Blue's fairways offer views of the ocean and Haleakala, and some of Wailea's stunning residential communities. It features several fountains and lakes, and an abundance of colorful hibiscus, wiliwili trees, bougainvillea and plumeria.
The flagship of the three golf courses at Wailea Golf Club on Maui, Old Blue is a classic Arthur Jack Snyder design built in 1972. This scenic Hawaiian resort-style course features both Pacific Ocean and volcano views and plays 6,765 yards from the championship tees, though each hole has three tee boxes for players of every skill level. The Old Blue course is close enough to the water that, from certain points like the 12th tee boxes, whales can be spotted.
The Blue was designed to appeal to a broad range of players. While it has challenged some of the finest professional players in the world, it also offers a measure of forgiveness in its wider fairways and large greens. Nearby tennis courts can also be booked through Wailea Golf Club.
