The cottage is hidden within a 2 minute stroll to the beach and 5 minutes walk from brilliant Bembridge village.
A traditional two up, two down terraced ex-railway cottage, with one superking (which can be split into two singles on request) and one double upstairs. Kitchen, living room and shower room downstairs and a small but perfectly formed decked suntrap of a garden at the back.
Bembridge Village is a haven for foodies with four pubs which all serve food (the closest is the Pilot Boat Inn), vegetarian cafe, restaurants for all tastes, a bakery, local fishmonger, award winning butcher and a farm shop selling deli and veggie delights. There are also some lovely boutique gift and homeware shops and two convenience stores.
There are plenty of activities close to hand including sea swimming, coastal walks, fishing trips, horse riding and watersports.
Lazy days at the cottage can be spent amusing yourself with a book from the well-stocked shelves, playing games or music (the cottage comes with a guitar and ukelele!), casting your favourite box-sets or movies via the Chromecast enabled TV or cooking up a feast in the well equipped kitchen.
The cottage is in a pedestrian only terrace, but on street parking is available nearby for those travelling by car. The nearest car ferries are the Wightlink Portsmouth - Fishbourne, then the Red Funnel Southampton - E Cowes. It is also possible to visit Bembridge without a car and spend a relaxing week in the local area. From London, you get the train from Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, jump on the FastCat to Ryde then get a taxi or the no 8 bus to the Bembridge Sailing Club stop.
If you are a keen cyclist and want to do the fantastic round the island route in 2 halves, with a few days stopover in between, Bembridge is right on the route and about half way around from Yarmouth via the Wightlink Lymington to Yarmouth route.
And, if you are sailing in, Bembridge Harbour has visitor moorings available.
This house would suit couples, families with older children, cyclists or friends looking for a relaxing break. All guests should be happy negotiating the steep and narrow stairs so for this reason, the property is marked unsuitable for young children.
The changeover day is Friday, but other days are considered on request - please just send a message to ask.
A fee of £10 per night is added for pets - well behaved dogs are welcome downstairs.
**Please note that pre-approval is required to book and some people have reported error messages if they try to come via 'Request to Book'. Instead, message me via 'Ask Owner a Question' or 'Send a Message', with your check in and check out dates and a brief note on who's in your party and what kind of trip you're planning and I'll get back to you right away.
