This is the family farm. Paul and Ceciel purchased this farm as a newly married couple. They had three children which they raised here. The farm was quite self-sufficient with a garden, beef and dairy cattle, chickens, and pigs. Paul was a Welshman whose family had immigrated from Wales to Soar, Illinois and were part of a Welsh colony there. Eventually, family members moved west and settled in Washington and Oregon. Paul and Ceciel both for born and raised in Wallowa County. Ceciel was one of five children who grew up in the small community of Paradise, Oregon which was located near Troy, Oregon.
Kathleen purchased this Farmhouse in 1906

Evan's Family Farm, Joseph, Ore
Owner met us we arrived, explained everything. Needed some additional bedding space, cots, sleeping pads etc for small children . Enjoy socializing with all the horses nearby.
Lovely property in a beautiful location
The setting for the property is exquisite, perfectly situated to take advantage of the stunning view of the dramatic Wallowa Mountains. We thought the location was .both more picturesque and private than we would have experienced in a lakefront house. The owners, who live close by, were very responsive but unobtrusive. It provides a great venue from which to enjoy the surrounding area..
Lovely Farm Home with Amazing Views!
We had such a wonderful time staying at this home during our Thanksgiving break! The Evans family were so helpful with the house and during our stay. The views from this home were the best! Joseph Oregon is a hidden gem. We will be returning in the future.
Thank you for spending your family Thanksgiving here. Please do come visit again. Every season is special in its own way
Enjoy your Holidays and see you soon

Peaceful and pleasant
The stay was as advertised plus clean and neat. Beds were comfortable with especially clean sheets. Well stocked nice white, fluffy towels in the bathrooms. Lots of room to park our vehicles. Anything we needed was immediately produced! (which wasn't much)
A drink of wine on the back porch glider in the evening and coffee in the morning was absolutely fabulous! Conversations with the owners was a plus. I would recommend this place for large or small family/friends getaway. We came for a wedding, had a great time and pleasant stay..we could not ask for anything more!
Great farm home
Loved the charm and kind hospitality, the beautiful view and horses, deer.
The Evans Farm was perfect for our stay. The children had a yard to run in and the home was so cozy not to mention Katherine and Grady being amazing host. Thank you for a wonderful time.
One of the things we enjoy the most about having a vacation rental is the wonderful people we meet. It was great to meet and have Linda and her family here.
The Evans Farm offers complete privacy on a lovely private 80 acre farm. The home is surrounded by the spectacular beauty of the Wallowa Valley. The home is utterly charming, furnished with quality antiques which have been elegantly re-purposed. In floor heating, great views, fully provisioned kitchen, huge grill on the covered porch, picnic table, lush linens, queen sized beds featuring quality pillow top mattresses and more make this a the perfect location for family vacation. Take a nature walk in the woods or hike one of the many mountain trails.
The Evans Farm is also the perfect wedding venue.
There are activities scheduled in the community every weekend. They include the famous Chief Joseph Days Rodeo, Blues Festival, Car Show, Dog Sled Racing (winter) and many more.
